Good music is timeless. 1964. I was a African American girl living in Newark, NJ and liked this song. Some of my Italian and Irish friends even laughed at me. Because an entirely different group and sound, The Four Seasons, were the local talent, and what we called Beach Music was considered corny -- even though everyone listened to it. But Brian Wilson's genius ruled the day. This song had a unique dreamy sound that captured what all my girlfriends wanted to say to the boyfriend they didn't have. And when we went "down the shore" you always heard it in the shops and on the radio. Played loud. I actually watched the movie DejaVu with Denzel about 5 times just to hear it on film. I played it at a house party a while back, where people from every corner of the world was present, and everyone got up and danced to it. And everyone knew the words to the song! I am certain every guy would love to have his lady say those words to him at some point in his life especially when he's made a bad decision. "Don't worry baby. Everything will turn out alright."
I grew up on Bloomfield Ave. Alot of my friends laughed at me for listening to the Temptations and the Chi-lites being white . I loved the Beach Boys too. Best music in my opinion.

22 yrs ago, In my darkest hour this song was running through my head nonstop while laying in a hospital bed. It got me through it. This song means everything to me. I always wanted to meet Brian Wilson to let him know and thank him.
One of the greatest song writers in rock history and he had a great voice. This TV appearance was taken before Brian had a severe nervous breakdown that caused him to withdraw from the music business for quite a few years, During this time he no longer performed live with the group but he did write the Pet Sounds album that was a masterpiece.
@@cuffinkillian In the end, he was already nerdy at that time and didn't fit the image of the group, i.e. laid-back Southern Californian boys. Probably that was also his problem compared to the Beatles, who were able to develop into adult personalities while the Beach Boys were always trapped in their image. So it's nice that his talent is recognized today.
Honestly, I think that you have to also 'credit' Brian's Father, Murry, as being responsible for having driven Brian to his bed for nearly three years, after Murry SOLD his Sons' entire recording history for $750k; - in apparent retribution for their Firing him as their Manager earlier. --- If my Dad did that to me, I would probably never get out of bed, either.@@egoneiermann-tn7sc

I just saw The Beach Boys tonight and they were still just as amazing. When I was dancing and singing to this song, Mike Love saw me and blew me a kiss. Such a great show!

Let's face it, when this song came out nobody had the sophisticated stereo systems to fully appreciate the genius vocal harmonies Brian Wilson produced out of this band.
Even tough they still famous today I wish they were young again. I'm over 60 and I remember my cousins listening to them and now when I saw them on CZcams I fell in love with them. I listen to this song most nights and I watch thier concerts. 🥰
ruandted I am blessed and so grateful to have been a teenager during all the music revolution. Beach Boys were my second concert, Four Seasons being the first. They were true musicians during those times.
Man, I love this song. What is it about Brian's voice paired with their music that created a pristine beauty that most other pop/rock songs never achieve??
I’ve been a fan of The Beach Boys for as long as I can remember (Gen X). I still love their music. Many of their songs are still on my Spotify playlist. It’s just good music.
I lived it. The Beach Boys embodied the whole West Coast, " California Dreaming". Cruising the Coast in corvette's, Hotrods, woodies, surfing, Hot Weather, chasing Girls, Malt shops, drive-in's, drag racing, cruising with friends to camp sites during hot summers looking for girls, having a crush, the Beach Boys with their beautiful harmony. There will never be a time like that again. I lived it and saw it all.
@ Toski back in those days we had fun. there's no more fun like those days. the world is full of hate now. year by year we are losing our rights and past history. to fully understand those days, you would had to lived then. anyone under 60 years old wouldn't know. we have lost a lot. the young generation today has no idea what has been lost. take care friend.
+Jack roper While I agree with so much of what you said, I must also say there was plenty of hate to go around back then. Segregation and prejudice were rampant. But, yes, the music was more innocent and not laced with bitches, ho's and violence.

Always loved this song to pieces. Specially love Brian Wilson's vocal on it against the background of those harmonies. Also, it's gorgeous how Wilson's voice slides without any break from falsetto to non-falsetto and back again. This is one of those songs that gives at certain moments the most intense pleasure.
This song never fails to choke me up, reminds me of easier simple times, the happiness of being young. Brian Wilson is the one of the greatest artists of the century if not all time.
@@lisalynnmcallister8196 Though I truly understand your sentiment, I wouldn't compare him with Beethoven, Bach or (and especially) Mozart. In fact, I'd guess that Brian Wilson himself wouldn't dare do it and not merely out of humility. Just one tiny example: Mozart, at age 13, heard for the first time a 3 hour concert given by the Pope's orchestra, knowing that the Pope proclaimed that no one was to ever release that music outside the Vatican or suffer excommunication. As such, all musical scores were promptly collected and placed back into a secured location after each concert. Mozart however, and purely from memory, wrote the entire piece down, for each instrument, without an error. The Pope was so amazed he thought it a gift from God and rescinded his proclamation. That's merely one form of his genius.

The most amazing aspect to this song is Brian was so young. Where do you see youth today write magic like this. It just doesn't happen. Brian was a freak songwriter one of the all time best.
In the summer of 1964, I used to play this B-side 45 record on the jukebox at McDonald's Beach in NJ. I was a Doo-wop music guy from Newark NJ but recognized the 4 part harmony of the Beach Boys was superb. And the lyrics touched my heart often over the years as we all need to hear from a loved one not to worry everything is going to be all right. A TIMELESS GREAT SONG

Just hang out at their house, so she could keep an eye on things. I guess jealousy on my step moms part…😮💨🤕 No special dance at the My Wedding. Your Daughter is blessed. One of the greatest melodies ever written. This is one of those songs that you hear and just instantly fall in love with. Everyone who recognizes this song is always like “Wait! I haven’t heard this in forever! I love this song!”
This song is timeless, incredible harmonies, just beautiful. The grainy black-and-white and their awkwardness is such a contrast with the vocal perfection. And this is the best song ever with regard to the power of a loving relationship to get you through even the worst, scariest messes in your life.
I’ve said it before I’ll say it again… the best band in the world. Perfection. This song is magical and will always be magical. Can’t even explain what it does to me.
Yeah. Saw Brian Wilson in concert with my dad in 2019. He had to be carried on stage and could hardly sing or play the piano but it was still beautiful to hear and see regardless. At first everyone was a bit uneasy but as soon as he started, he captured the whole room. Don’t know what it is about his music that captivates me but I’m glad to have it in my life
The Beach Boys were not immune to the ravages of drugs and alcohol that came later. Check out Dennis Wilson's beautiful vocals on the Song "Forever" or Carl on "Break Away''. Dennis released a solo album in the early 80's and his voice was wrecked.
Mike Love was the exception to classy, modest and decent. And yes, I’m a Mike Love hater. He rode their coat tails and suffered from chronic uniqueness. Still touring as The Beach Boys. He couldn’t make a good pimple on Brian, Carl or Dennis Wilson’s ass!

Will still be great in another 50 years.
I never tire of listening to this Beach Boys song; It's beautifully done.
My favorite Beach Boys song. You don't hear harmonies like this anymore.
My favorite also Don. So many good songs by them. So Awesome. But this one my Favorite 🙂
Listen to Foxes and Fossils version, the group is a master on Harmonies
You sure don't, decades later and it still sounds awesome!
@@magneto7930 so much crap these days
brian has a (very) special voice , obviously .
The range of tones in Brian's voice is incredible... unbelievable talent !

Just beautiful🎶🎶

Few singers can cover DONT WORRY BABY because once you hear the original that falsetto has got to be of similar calibre.
@Ace Duh
I was 14 yo living in Pacific Beach, Ca. Stirred so many emotions then and still does. Better times
Yes, this is Timeless music, this is my go to song, when life gets rough. Still listening in 2024 and BEYOND!!!
Brian Wilson is a lyrical genius you just don't hear music written like that anymore.
I have always said the same. He creates lyrics like no one else
Lyrics by Roger Christian. :)
He heard things no one else could hear in music he changed it all for the best
Don't forget about the lyricists :)
Brian Wilson is a musical genius. Lyrical genius?
Brian's voice, like the Gibb brothers, brings heavenly tears to my eyes.
Yeah especially robin Gibs voice Brian and robin are my favourite singers
I'm so grateful this is still available to watch and hear five decades later. I love Brian Wilson so much. I could cry when I think of the way things went for him afterwards. I hope he's doing well today. ❤
Six decades.
Back when musical acts had real talent and class.❤
This song is timeless ... even in 2022!
I agree.
I agree too
I agree love from Australia
I agree love from Australia
I remember reading an article by brian wilson after they had just finished recording good vibrations. He was in his car and they played a beethovens symphony on the radio and he said we have achieved nothing
This song is about the wisdom, peace, strength and love a good woman can bring to a man.. May all such women be honored.
That's exactly what I was thinking
You got it .
Thank You henochparks. :-) :-)
Thanks You!!!
Its about a car...he's afraid he's going to lose his car in a race. Only Brain Wilson could write a "love song" about a car...pure genius.
I am 71 years old and cannot forget the music of my teenage years.
And this was a B-side, holy shit the musical genius.
B side to what?
My fave Beach Boys song.
I LOVE THIS SONG! ALWAYS HAVE, ALWAYS WILL! BEACH BOYS FOREVER!!!❤

AMEN !!🙏
Praise God this great song got you thru. God bless you
@Vinz Klortho - glad you got to give your testimony here.
I finally got my wish and met him- and wish I hadn't. Never meet your idols folks

This was a very early appearance of the group. Brian would have his problems some time later. Its the best song of the early period.
IMHO, this song, along with "In my Room" and "Surfer Girl" are the three best songs that the band ever did.@@cuffinkillian
One of the best songs ever...harmonies, structure, brilliance.
Sitting depressed all alone at a deserted lake, some kool soul played this song loudly from across this lake. Than there was dead silence again. Thank you dear soul, y Brian Wilson. God bless you both.
a deserted lake sounds wonderful.
My dear, On this life's road, "Keep Looking Forward, forget the past. If you don't, you not only endanger YOU, but the new folks coming your Way, maybe someone You need."? CJ...such folks saved me..."Oh, how amazed you would be to know Who!!"🌷
I can’t think of a group that sounds more American than the Beach Boys. I love their music that speaks of sun and good feelings of good times.
Hello Katherine, how are you doing?
All beach boys songs put me in a good California mood. Outstanding.
Such a beautiful, soothing song,I could listen to it every day.
People don’t realize how influential The Beach Boys are. They helped cultivate a sound that echoes throughout west coast music
They also massively influenced The Beatles (and vis versa) so that's another big effect.
they influenced me at an early age....almost like a spell.....I caught their Calif. fever and lived there for a while.....still crazy about them after a million years lol
one of the coolest, smoothest, most memorable and enduring songs ever written and sung.

2023...still loving the BEACH BOYS music
Was introduced to The Beach Boys, when I was 14, by my childhood crush. He is no longer around so listening to the band we love comforts me. He is singing this song, for me, in Heaven. ❤
There'll never be another group like the Beach Boys.
I just saw The Beach Boys tonight and they were still just as amazing. When I was dancing and singing to this song, Mike Love saw me and blew me a kiss. Such a great show!
Awesome story. I bet it was just like time had never passed from the first time you heard this song. Oh, to go back to when this music was new and the world hadn't gotten so darned complicated.
+Sarah Thomas (skthippie19) in Adelaide?
Look at Brian!! OMG his singing!!❤❤❤❤❤❤ he was my 1st big crush..I had his posters all over my room in 7th grade!
Never heard much of his singing after that doctor got ahold of him. He's a brilliant genius. And the walls! Cracks me up. Them, Bobby Sherman, David Cassidy. And a subscription to Teen Beat! There was another magazine but I don't remember what it was called. Thanks for the Memories
Let's face it, when this song came out nobody had the sophisticated stereo systems to fully appreciate the genius vocal harmonies Brian Wilson produced out of this band.
In the late '60s my brother and I got a good stereo with nice speakers. Sloop John B was incredible.
Brian recorded everything in mono bc he was deaf in one ear and had no idea what stereo sounded like.
Love the way Brian Wilson subtly smiles in awkward confidence as he sings in his high-pitched voice.
Best vocal band ever. I grew up listening to the beach boys and they're still my favorite
Even tough they still famous today I wish they were young again. I'm over 60 and I remember my cousins listening to them and now when I saw them on CZcams I fell in love with them. I listen to this song most nights and I watch thier concerts. 🥰
I love this song, it is timeless, sounds heavenly.

Anybody else feel proud to have lived through such a great era ? .
Absolutely.... beats the crap out of the shit thats produced today
I am of course!!!
Oh yes!
ruandted I am blessed and so grateful to have been a teenager during all the music revolution. Beach Boys were my second concert, Four Seasons being the first. They were true musicians during those times.

Gosh, it has been so long since I heard this song. Brings back a lot of memories.
These guys were great in the day. Saw them live in UK in 1967, really good band
Man, I love this song. What is it about Brian's voice paired with their music that created a pristine beauty that most other pop/rock songs never achieve??
Pristine is the perfect word xx
Brian Wilson is definitely without a doubt one of the best voices of the whole history of music it’s just amazing 👍
"God Only Knows" that Carl's voice is right there too!
@@procopiojrpalacios9702 completely agree with you but Brian’s voice is unique isn’t?
😂 Made me tear up when I was 16, and still does! What wonderfully amazing sounds guys.
Me too. Brings back so many beach memories.
I’ve been a fan of The Beach Boys for as long as I can remember (Gen X). I still love their music. Many of their songs are still on my Spotify playlist. It’s just good music.
THE absolutely best version of this song ever…. Makes me want to cry … so beautiful 😍
brilliant song brilliant band
I lived it and saw it all.
you lucky soul. i pretend the best i can
@ Toski back in those days we had fun. there's no more fun like those days. the world is full of hate now. year by year we are losing our rights and past history. to fully understand those days, you would had to lived then. anyone under 60 years old wouldn't know. we have lost a lot. the young generation today has no idea what has been lost. take care friend.
+Jack roper While I agree with so much of what you said, I must also say there was plenty of hate to go around back then. Segregation and prejudice were rampant. But, yes, the music was more innocent and not laced with bitches, ho's and violence.
Hey at 55 I don't know what you are talking about. I grew up in NYC & Westchester county Broadway worlds fair sonic booms war concerts assassinations doo wop milk man ROCK N ROLL. where were you from 60 I think you mean 40. lol
you don't know what I'm talking about, because you're clueless! NYC is dump. back in the 1960's it was California, west coast all the way. BTW, are you taking your medication this morning? lol
This is truly a feel good tune and has to be one of the greatest songs of all time❤!!!!!!!
The most underrated music group of all time. Groundbreaking and genius

This song never fails to choke me up, reminds me of easier simple times, the happiness of being young. Brian Wilson is the one of the greatest artists of the century if not all time.
So true
Parker Dunne: I'm still biased towards Mozart.
He is a musical genius
He's like in the musical geniuses with morzat, Beethoven Bach etc etc
That Brian Wilson falsetto! No one ever got close to that quality. Not even close.
Brian certainly had it. So did Frankie Valli
Well Barry Gibb did a good impersonation
Frankie Valli was a great falsetto too
Gary Whitt what about tiny tim
Eddie Holman also had an awesome falsetto
My favorite Beach Boys song. They were also my first favorite group. I still recall their doo-wop song called "Surfin."
That classic California sound, saw them in concert in Anaheim 43 yrs ago. Buddy Rich was there too-rest his soul! Good times!
"I guess I shoulda kept my mouth shut when I sought to brag about my car"...... genius! no one else would think to write that.
RIGHT??
"I can't back down now because I pushed the other guys too far..."
I loved listening to The Beach Boys as a young child and I still do. One of the first groups to actually make me a big music listener as an adult.

The most amazing aspect to this song is Brian was so young. Where do you see youth today write magic like this. It just doesn't happen. Brian was a freak songwriter one of the all time best.
Brian was and remains a musical genius period
Brian Wilson the heart and soul of this group was a damn genius, went to Hawthorne highschool
I remember my dad saying when he saw this video it looked like they were half asleep
no question Brian was a geniues song writer, like Beethoven, these guys only come along in a life time
I think the most amazing aspect is the farts...
That’s awesome. I like to talk to my grandma about the beatles. She was born in ‘45 so she remembers everything about Beatle-Mania
This song never gets old. Beautifully sung. Thanks for sharing.
I chose this song for my oldest daughter's father and daughter wedding dance. Still brings a tear to my eyes.
It brings tears to my eyes to hear this..My parents Divorced when I was still a babe, and it just wasn’t the same after that. Dad remarried a real young virgin (17) He was (26) He had 3 daughters with my Mom 6,3,1.. ~ I was the one year old,..The New bride wanted a family of her own, so let’s just say for years we just came for a month in summer, that was all I got to see Dad😥..And my sister’s and I weren’t allowed to go anywhere with him. Just hang out at their house, so she could keep an eye on things. I guess jealousy on my step moms part…😮💨🤕
No special dance at the My Wedding. Your Daughter is blessed. I hope she Appreciates you Tom🤩
Excellent choice. Love this tender song.
Aww that's cool man

Influenced by my baby, what a beautiful time in rock and roll history
Growing Up in the Late 1950s and Early '60's The Best times for Do-Wop and Rock and Roll Music! 🤩
Don’t know what it is about his music that captivates me but I’m glad to have it in my life
Lori Morgan Version
Beach boys were so classy , modest and decent.
The Beach Boys were not immune to the ravages of drugs and alcohol that came later. Check out Dennis Wilson's beautiful vocals on the Song "Forever" or Carl on "Break Away''. Dennis released a solo album in the early 80's and his voice was wrecked.
2 years latered they were a drugged out mess like in good vibrations i was 15 and couldnt beleive it.
Except for Denis and Charles manson
Erica A well they looked the part anyway😏
Mike Love was the exception to classy, modest and decent. And yes, I’m a Mike Love hater. He rode their coat tails and suffered from chronic uniqueness. Still touring as The Beach Boys. He couldn’t make a good pimple on Brian, Carl or Dennis Wilson’s ass!
I am 69 yrs. old now and still love this song! Got to see the Beach Boy's in concert in 1989 they were Great!!
