RIP Cliff 🎵 I met Cliff in 2016 in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin when he would stop in to the local Kwik Trip I was managing. We were very friendly with each other and him stopping into the store was something I looked forward to on a daily basis. He didn’t introduce himself to me as a musician and he didn’t tell me about Off Broadway until quite some time after we initially met. Our friendship quickly shifted to music and one of my favorite memories was when I was working the cash register and Cliff walked up to me singing the lyrics of “Stay in Time”, but he found a way to put my name into the lyrics. Later in 2017, I told Cliff I was taking a trip to London, so he advised me on all of his favorite spots in the city and messaged with me a wee bit when I was on my trip. All along I really didn’t know much about Cliff’s background or influence in the music community. I’m thankful for my path to have crossed with Cliff’s and I’m happy to have been his friend! ❤️

The Shoes, the Records, Pezband, Off Broadway, etc... all that young energy and hope. Can't go back but can still enjoy the music.

Don’t forget Screams! A Champaign/Urbana band… They had a pretty good run one year in the midst of all of the above!
Saw them at an outdoor concert at ISU, when Paper Dolls had decent radio airplay… STUNNING! ❤️

Thank You- Besides you two being a big influence musically as well as all your pals, Cliff had a remarkable effect on me and many of his fans. Super talent. Miss him. Thanks for your memories.

And all this time I thought it was bad management. When they hit Rockford and Chicago airwaves, they were on fire. The guitar hooks, unique voice and lyrics, and great production.

One night we in the car and Cliff starts singing along with this (ABC) song that was on the radio
You can imagine how he was acting this one out
    Shoot that poison arrow…
Shoot that poison arrow through my heart
Then he says, Hey who sings dat fucking song…Flock of Jag-offs?

Cliff was a doll. Funny, witty, talented in so many ways. His passing was shocking and with the loss of Jimy Sohn from Shadows of Knight around the same time, both men left a huge hole in the musical universe. Both men were hilarious and loved their fans.
