It was wayyyy after the call and he stopped playing only because he thought it would go out. And it was in. So yea he’s wrong here. They need replays for these scenarios because an umpires memory and word just doesn’t help the situation

@@kirbymendes807 actually no. The whole point was Thanasi hit the ball as a half volley, there’s no way a call from a line umpire could come quickly enough to hinder the shot he made.

I think that umpire is a pretty poor communicator, he often makes the right call but then makes it seem like he made a mistake in the discussion. Eg. the number of time Fognini said shit.

He was also completely right. The umpire started the shot clock too early. It should start when he gets 3 balls in his hand, not just 1 or 2. Tennis players are creatures of habit, to the point of being OCD. I’m sure FAA went about his normal routine. He doesn’t stand at the line taking forever. When he got to the line he was called for a time violation, how is that possible.

lol @ Kokkinakis, he even put up his finger to challenge the "in call" after he hit the shot, indicating he could not have heard the out call before or at the same time as his stroke, as after he hit the shot, he was going to challenge the call to ensure it was called out.
even in the live, you can clearly see the call made after he made contact. I don't blame them though, it seems every tennis player hears the calls at different times than their stroke.

What bothered me with Gulbis his match is that he's playing in france, against a french player with a french umpire. I'm sorry but how can you call a game fair? With foolball during matches they always have a ref who is not from either one of the countries of any of the countries that can benefit from the result. So why is a french umpire at a french tournament with a french player allowed. It reeks of corruption. Same goes for all the asian tournaments. Richard Haigh also officiated that infamous controversial match between Sarah Errani and Wickmayer. He in that match made in one call 2 mistakes and Errani pointed it out for him. Richard Haigh is idiot and most uneducated and most incompetent umpire ever. This match also shows his incompetence. The shot clearly was hindered by line umpire, but he doesn't call it as hindrance. Actually in this match, The umpire was actually stopping the clock to early, Felix was taking too much time between points. the umpire was stopping the clock before the ball was tossed. If the umpire was stopping it at the right time, Felix would have gotten a warning earlier.

Nope. He lost because of umpires, you idiot. He during the whole 1set got all the time distracted by line umpire movements, because of those movements he wasn't able to concentrate and focus, you idiot. Also chair umpire in second set 4:2 AD to Gulbis overruled clear by his opponent and awarded point to his opponent. Thant match was officiated so that Gulbis lost that match. Umpires didn't do their job correctly. In fact umpires didn't do their job at all. That's a fact. Just face it. You simply hate Gulbis, because he is far richer, is far more famous than you and unlike you he has fans. You simply are jealous of him.

@@einarsd4 at regular time you see the ball is well on its way back when the call is made. I'm done arguing this. It is plain as day to hear on the initial video before they replay it, which was ALSO IN REAL TIME. Slow motion sound doesn't make different sounds play at different speeds.
