      @adammarszalec9910 Před 3 lety +11

      It does make sense. Getting coffee is a frivolous desire and can be in such situations regulated, but getting a physio is a necessity, something like going to the doctor. Yes, if we look at it as a single instance, it may not seem logical. But reasonable players will not normally ask for a physio just to make a point, but only when it is genuinely needed, which is less frequent, and less dependent on their whim than someone’s desire to get a drink. Hence, as a wide strategy of minimizing risk, it makes sense.

    • @colaboytje
      @colaboytje Před 3 lety +7

      @@adammarszalec9910 Well, in that way, it is indeed less risky. But then, why let them drink at all? ;-) It's not needed. They won't die.
      But seriously now: where do the other drinks come from then?
      And can he get a coffee after the match or before the match?
      Also: tennis is not needed at all during a pandemic.
      You can go into a rabbit hole on this subject:-)
      I'm all for safety, but it has to remain humane.

    • @adammarszalec9910
      @adammarszalec9910 Před 3 lety +1

      @@colaboytje I agree, this is rabbit hole prone case. My answer to that would be that it’s easier to put there a bunch of plastic bottles of water or any other drink than have coffee machine on court. I suppose it’s considered a bare minimum to offer water and I, for one, would not say coffee is a normal thing to drink during a match (not to say no players at all do that). Tennis and other sports for professionals have remained opened, this seems to be common for many if not all countries. As I said, it’s not about trying to ban all contact, but to minimize it. So let me rephrase my argument. Supervisor had a good point, Nishioka, in my opinion, wasn’t right in claiming there is no merit to these rules. He could, though question supervisor’s actions on the basis of unfettering discretion which would acknowledge regulations, but say that in this instance, blind sticking to the rules is unreasonable. However, in my personal opinion, it is Nishioka that was at fault, because in case of covid, unfettering discretion does make a difference - it deters people who disregard the rules from exploiting them.

    When everything is on TV why is ATP still want those umpires...
    We are not in 1960s or 70 s to rely on umpires..
    It's so hard to see the deserving loose the points.
    May be Novaks PTPA stemmed from this..
    ATP should really make the change ...
    Why on earth such injustice should happen?
    It's obvious in every match especially Paires match.
    He looks completely dejected.
