      I was hoping Gerry would pull out the rule book and show him a list of all the English bad words you cannot say. • @rishuyadav1662
      @rishuyadav1662 Před 2 lety +1

      Yeah, i think players today get away with a lot, thats why even if i dont like Nadal style of playing, i respect him, never curses and never throws his racket. Even a player such as McEnroe was very aware and conscious of when and where he does his outbursts and how, he basically uses the rulebook fully, its not only about the physical game but the mental game too, and what i mean can be seen in Gulbis outburst, any argument and action for example in delay in game can throw a opponent off and/or win the crowd over, thats how smartly Mcenroe used the rule book. I like how strong some umpires are and they should get more credit for standing up like that, and i also think that if a player throws his/her racket, and then continues to break his/her racket should be accountable for number of obscenities and abuses. I mean if he is continuing to use the word in his explanations its still going on tv and into the player and crowds ear, so it becomes a hypocrisy in a way to continue. But thats just me, i think if that is applied then tennis will gain more as a sport, in the 50s we never heard players conduct their language like that. Thats just my view.

    Honestly I always thought Pospisil was a decent guy but this last year he's behaved terribly. At the US open against Fognini he'd constantly run the clock down on both his serve and make Fogna wait for him, and should've had so many warnings. Also cheering on errors and everything

    Whay Tennis Advocate taught me is that the "OUT" call NEVER disturbs the player, I always replay the video and is nver true the player misses the shot because of the call.

  • @samurai7411
    @samurai7411 Před 2 lety +1

    How much of a delay is there between when a player hears an out call and when we hear the call picked up on the mic? Because every single player has made the argument that the call came before/while they were hitting and that the call hindered them. And every time I see it on TV the call is clearly after they hit.

    • @plastjoel
      @plastjoel Před 2 lety +1

      On ATP level courts there are mics around the court, there is no delay. With the logic of any delay being present, every racket hitting a ball would be delayed, which they are not.

    Usually I side with players, but the whole "this ball is shit" made me realize how much self control the umpires really have. If this was me I'd would have screamed "shut up, go back to the court or you will be disqualified for taking an unauthorized break" then at the press conference would just show a montage of this dude being disrespectful and make an example of how the ATP is bo longer gonna accept this kind of tantrums and childish attitudes

    Drama with Karen so stupid, why is it so hard for the officials to impose their authority? They could just say that there's zero tolerance for audible obscenity; accept the penalty or gtfo, end of discussion. Instead they indulge his tantrum for like 5 minutes, scratching their chins like they don't know what to say. Lame.

Have to stay polite and cant say for example that Karen needs to stop with being a cry baby and talking bullsh*t because are we really having a discussion if sh*t is a swear word and are we really gonna call the supervisor for that😒 Disrupting play is so annoying but yeah I get it when you are playing bad and you need to release your frustration (unfortunately often at the umpire)
