  • Want to know how to fit 37" tires on your Ram with only a 2.5" leveling kit? We took this 4th gen Ram 2500 and installed Synergy MFG's new 2.5" leveling kit on it along with some 37" tires and Raceline wheels. With a massive improvement in ride quality and looks, this kit is a no brainer over a spacer lift!
    Check it out on our website:

      Duane Kavanaugh no I didn’t. I live in TX, and just had a shop follow what CJC did. I actually ended up taking the 12.5 wide RT tires off and put 13.5 wide and put TOYO MT’s on it. The tires look better in my opinion and I wanted a type E tire because I pull a trailer sometimes and liked the look of MT better. The tires don’t go all the way to lock and rub some on the inside of the control arm though

    Awesome video, I only have one suggestion. For your guys installing tires on the trucks, get them a tire lift to save their backs. If you already have one make sure they use it. Back injuries have ended a lot of careers. Young guys will refuse at first but will see the benefit.

      @@CJCOffRoad I tried taking this idea in to a diesel shop here in Canada and they said they were hesitant because there’s a major wiring harness on the drivers side where they would have to trim. I have the exact same truck as the video basically. I work in the oil patch and drive down lots of muddy roads and trails and the mechanic said I would most likely cause a lot of damage. I already have a levelling kit with 35’s. And they don’t stock synergy in Alberta I guess. Any suggestions to get this look? Other brands perhaps. And! Will it cause wiring harness damage if used in tough work environments ?

    What kind of extra work did you have to do for the 37s? Speedo calibration? Does the factory gearing allow for proper towing capacity while running 37s?

    • @CJCOffRoad
      @CJCOffRoad  Před 5 lety +4

      We do recalibrate the speedos if customers ask for it to be done. Customers can also chose to re-gear their trucks, but most don't because of the cost in doing so. It's all personal choice, and dependent on the gear ratio the truck was equipped with from the factory. Factory 4:10 and 3:73 trucks can get away with 37's no problem, but the 3:42 and higher trucks get influenced more with 37s.

      From what I've read, running 37's and 4.10 gears puts you back at/near factory ratios. If you tow heavy (10K+) then it seems to be the recommendation to regear, if not or infrequently then the consensus is to not worry about it.

    After you've trimmed the plastic, is there any way to re-seal the fender liner? Living in mid-Atlantic states means plenty of salt and brine on the roads during the winters. That brine is nasty stuff and will easily get into any open seams and cause issues.

    • @17madracki17
      @17madracki17 Před 5 lety

    • @TheTsunamijuan
      @TheTsunamijuan Před 5 lety

      Most of the plastics on the RAM are ABS or nylon or a mix. For ABS you can solvent weld the seams closed by just putting acetone on the plastic and letting the surfaces melt together. You can also do whats known as friction welding. Where you can take ABS or nylon, and spin it in a drill or dremel to melt it, and join two parts back together.
      of course there are also plastic welding kits. But often the plastics included in those kits are not very flexible and tend to just kind booger up, unless care is taken, and they are smoothed out well. The base of most plastic welding kits are often a iron in teh temp range of plastics, with a large tip for thermal stability. Or a modified glue gun that works at higher temps.

    • @CJCOffRoad
      @CJCOffRoad  Před 7 měsíci

      Yep! To fit 37s on a Ram truck we recommend a +12 to +27 offset wheel that is no wider than 9.5.” A +12 wheel will yield a slight poke from the fender, while a +27 wheel is just about flush with the side of the truck. If you're curious what that looks like, give this article a read as it has a ton of examples and a video showing different setups. www.cjcoffroad.com/blogs/cjc-off-road-blog/1994-2024-ram-hd-wheel-and-tire-fitment-and-trimming-guide-for-fitting-35s-37s-and-38s
