- Now, maybe this has already been done before, but I have never seen it so I'm naming it the earthworm trail soap technique because.....earthworms are cute. Enjoy the soap we crafted for our February babies!

I know it may sound crazy but I would love a video "how to" on cleaning up after your soapmaking. How do you clean the containers with the lye, anything we should know about best tips on cleaning your soap making supplies?
She just did a video not too long about about lye and she showed clean up.

I rinse my lye tub (and anything else that touched tge lye) with vinegar. The acid neutralizes the base (lye). You can then just rinse with water if you like. This is also what I do if I get lye on myself to avoid a reaction.

@@jeffreym68 I just rinse work water, especially if it's a really tiny amount of lye. It will only react badly of it's large enough quantities.

I always love a good background with shelves or a bookcase or whatever! It gives the creator a fun way to subtly put references and stuff in the background

Artbug with other products I’ve tried, it doesn’t seem to matter if it’s synthetic or not, both make me sneeze uncontrollably

I get that reaction from lilac. I made a Amethyst geode soap in black Raspberry vanilla, bc I don't enjoy florals as much as sweets. Making a spring line and they are all florals. I'm a bit stuffed up.. lol
Background idea: plants! Hanging, on plant stands draping down, some real abs some fake! I love seeing greenery as background

Layers separated by mica lines are my favorite, regardless of texture.. just something about a little pop of gold 😍
It amazes me every time how much stick blending can really bring a color to life in the soap batter.

I've always loved the background of the Sorry Girls, and how it rotates for the seasons, it's functional and also decorative.
This February "baby" *cough* already dropped the not so subtle hint on the spouse that this would be available for my birfday. Beautifuls!
This Christmas was really special for my family. Last December (2018) my mom had a house fire that started from a grease fire on the stove and my brother got badly burnt. They were out of their house for a big portion of 2019 and they lost everything. So it was very special to get to spend this Christmas in my mom's new rebuilt home and get her the tree she's always wanted and it was just such a bittersweet time for us all. Sad about the past but so glad to be all together and looking forward to the future and a fresh start. So it was truly everything I could have hoped for.

I’m an October baby, but amethyst is my favorite gemstone because purple is also my favorite color! I also love young adult books because they are a nice easy read for my slow reading self lol and I enjoy the stories, plus I work with kids so I can recommend books as none of them read 🤦🏻♀️ Currently finishing Spelled, a retelling of the Wizard of Oz 🤩 would recommend. May have to check out Owl Crate!

My Christmas was quite stinky but vlogmas got me through, I also read quite a few young adult books over Christmas. I enjoy them more than adult books because they are more creative and whimsical at times. I had a collection of snag tights, they are amazing and so comfortable. Love this soap in one of my favourite colours xx

LOVE diagonal layers! My favorite bar is the POLLY bar. It smells fantastic and I love pink & orange together. That little bit of shimmer on top is perfect. :-)

Ooo. I did something similar to a fire soap I made, played with alot and made it look like an ombre flame. I agree this is such a fun way to do layers.
An inexpensive way to help sound quality, get interlocking eva foam mats for kids play rooms. Lock em together and stick em on walls. Cover them with your drapery for you aesthetic needs. :3 rose led string lights would work really well with your Feb theme too.

My holiday sucked. My grandma died the Monday before thanksgiving, I had to use my vacation time to attend her funeral and wasn’t able to travel back home for Christmas, so I spent the holiday alone and sad, 5 hours from my family. Then for New Years I got the gift of an eviction notice. So I’m glad the holiday is over.
Purples and blues are soothing colors. At least for me. There’s just something about them that makes me think calm and soft and gentle

You should make a 'Salt and sorrows' Soap!!! Some of the embeds could be the rocks and things you see on the color and the blue would be absolutely gorgeous with some silver mica lines!!💙☺️

more fairy lights are never a bad idea! Glittery/sparkly drapes. Gauzy tulle/fabrics over the fairly lights for different interest or matching with theme or color schemes.
I had a good holiday season, spent a lot of time with family. The one heartbreak I had was that my cat passed away the day after new years, but he lived a good life so that helps a bit with the pain of losing him. And my fiance got me a new book for Christmas which I am loving so that has been a great distraction. Loving this soap too, amethyst is my birthstone so I will certainly be getting my paws on one of these bars!

Katie! You ought to combine this technique with bright, cheerful grass green as a flat layer, then sandy colors, then tide blue, and gradients of blue and white (think of the Porco Rosso soap you made) and top it with a little lighthouse. It would look beautiful, like a miniature, simplistic landscape picture.
Katie you guys should get a green screen. This way you could do different types of backgrounds in conjunction with the soap collection of the month. Just a thought. Happy New Year’s!!!

Background idea: a couple small floating shelves with displays of some key micas and soap making things. Also maybe a little light board that you could change the wording on so you could display the soap name or collection name or a quote from a book or movie that gave you inspiration for the soap.

Daisy was my mum's signature perfume. I ended up wearing it on my wedding day. I spent Christmas in Tunisia with my husband, hopefully in 2020 he will be able to come live in the UK with me, that would be the best present ♡
Well, I definitely got things I wanted for Christmas: I got to come home from the hospital and spend it with my family. December 17th, I had the mildest form of what can be considered a stroke while I was at work. It was made all the scarier because I thought it was a migraine and continued to work though it for hours before heading home and ultimately to the ER. I spent 8 days in the hospital and they finally let me come home on Christmas Eve. It's made me all the more thankful for my family and my loved ones. But it's also made me more aware of the fact of how little I take care of myself while I try to take care of everyone else. I know that much like myself, you take care of everyone else, and I'm not saying that's a bad thing by any means. But make sure you take the time to take care of yourself too. Because you are every bit as important as everyone you take care of. It's something I'm still trying to learn. Still love watching your journey. :)
