I think the best substitute for emeralds could be Peridot, Green Sapphire, or Tsavorite. If she wants a deeper color then even the Gaia Stone could work pleasantly. I hope this helps 😊

About the plate thing:
Used to, my grandmother would insist on using the "nice" plates for holidays. Our nice plates were these crystal clear glass ones with a sort of frosted starburst design. We were absolutely terrified of breaking them.
Now that my grandmother is unfortunately no longer with us, we quickly made the switch to paper plates. Honestly, it makes clean-up so much easier on a day where there is already a ton of prep-work to be done. And you can get ones that have beautiful holiday designs, so everything still feels festive.
I'm all for reduce, reuse, and recycle...but there are some days you just have to take the route that saves your sanity!
Now for the birthstone soaps:
These are wonderful. I know you've made an amethyst geode soap in the past (I had not found your lovely channel yet, however, and I missed buying one). Amethyst is my birthstone and also my favorite gemstone. I would definitely love if you'd at least make an amethyst one again. It wouldn't even need to be as elaborate as the geode one; just with amethyst embeds on top and a purple/white swirl...and of course, holo glitter would be a great addition!
Every soap I've bought from you has been amazing. I refuse to use body wash now because of how much healthier your soap has made my skin feel. Having Grave's Disease (which makes you prone to dry, dull skin), this has been a lifesaver!
We use our regular ceramic dinner plates even for holidays! I try to not use disposable plates cups and cutlery to reduce what I send to the landfill but my family is no where near as big as yours so I see how disposables must make your large family gatherings easier! If you’re interested in lowering your trash waste maybe suggest those who no longer live at home take a portion of the dirty dishes with them, wash them (especially if you have dishwashers!) and then bring them back to reduce the load on your parents who have already done a lot? I’m still in the market for nice cloth napkins myself, I haven’t made the switch to reusables on those yet.
I would like to see a real-time clock in the corner of your videos so I can understand how long it takes you to make your soaps. I hope to start making my own soap as a hobby soon and I think this would help me.
We’re on the “pull out the wedding china and Nana’s good silver” side of things, but my husband’s side are definitely paper plate people.

I think that I may have said this before buutttt.. my husband is a Brit.... I am a Kentucky girl.. he was able to take me to his hometown over in England back in March.. I needed inspiration for my book and he needed to see his family... let me tell ya if you want all KINDS of inspiration go to England and visit the little villages near my husbands town of Sheffield... he is full of amazing stories about the Cottingely Fairy... he has actually met the family that is connected with it... he is a HUGE reason I have found ideas about my books and just in general...

My grandma loves getting the decorative paper plates and napkins specific to each holiday, but insists we use real silverware.

We use heavy duty paper plates, yet break out the gold plated silverware. It's a fun ironic mix.

I don’t make soap, but, as a kid I used to watch my mom make cold process goats milk soap from the milk of our dairy goats, and even though we didn’t do design last nearly as intricate as yours, your videos remind me of sitting and watching her, and I love it!
