Chuck, this presentation is super nice. The mixture of manufacturers was a surprise, thought was just John Deer. Many popular brands. As a kid i helped the dairy farm owner down the road and have fond memories helping his family and i did it without getting paid. Also rode my Yamaha mx motorcycle in his hay fields during autum months with trees surrounding them. They were good people. This was from 1971 to 1983 and will never forget them and the experience of helping my neighbor. Best Regards
Time for the big toys to come out and play. Thank you for the sneak peak at what is to come. Thank you BTP. Stay safe on your travels. Getting close to 60k subscriber rock on.
Och, it's ALWAYS good to watch your videos - at least the BIG tractors are WORKING. Nearly choked over my porridge this morning - seeing grass being ensiled !! - at this time of year before there's leaves on the trees! Had thought that field access would have been more than trying in the beginning of March - been soooo cold ? ie frozen ground, snow cover, etc.....
YOU are early on the go this morning! Rarely freezes? . we COULD have said that too, here in the Highlands of Scotland, way back in the late 60's & 70's . THIS year - not so much as Frost but very cold( Low temps ) so nothing growing and too cold / wet to apply Fertilizer - doesn't the Ammonia leach away ?
NH3 leaches over time. In the mid-west they apply NH3 in the fall because the ground freezes it in. Here in WKY where the ground does not freeze they do it in the spring ahead of seeding.
hate to say it but the farmers in the US are farming for free this year only ones getting rich will be the seed and chemical companys and bankers if a farmer has to buy high dollar equipment and or pay high land rent I'll be glad when I'm retired its no fun anymore
Really enjoy your videos. Whats the deal with the narrow tracks on the case? I'm sure there is a reason I just don't know what it is. Thanks for sharing. Look forward to seeing you up here in ohio.
Johndeere5065 narrow tracks are used to keep spacing in between rows of where the row units are planting corn so they don’t compact where the corn is planted
thumbs up bigtractorpower but ill bet you all the farmers in ky dont know what a lunch box is, the acres they farm per field is stupid small, thats what we call banker hr farming

The ground rarely freezes here in Western Kentucky. Once March 1 arrives farming is normally safe to start rolling.

At about 1:42 what kind of pickup is on that Krone? It looks like a big vacuum cleaner. lol
It is a hay header with time sweeps to lift the crop. There is a roller under the cover that feeds the crop in.
Thanks!
