It's so satisfying when your plane is producing piles of shavings... efficiently. More important than technique is your skill at tuning and sharpening. It's the plane truth. So tune in to sharpen those skills and you'll see an immediate difference.
QUESTIONS (hear the answer at the noted time):
    • Do you use lubricant on the Diamond Stone? (00:26:54)
    • Do you polish the chip breaker? (00:32:22)
    • Do you turn the piece around and go at it from the other end? (00:49:32)
    • Is 10,000 a magic number? What about 8 or 12? (This question came in after we were done) Answer: 6 or 8 are fine, of course the higher you go the better, but you'll have to judge what it's worth for you. Enjoy!

This is a fantastic video, thanks Tom! I have a question: where can I buy a bench like the one you use in this video that has the vise on the end and the little holes to insert pegs that keep a workpiece locked in? I think you called it a bench dog but not sure? Thanks again!

Thank you Eetsie, so glad you enjoyed it! A Google search for woodworking benches will bring up all sorts of options to consider. It’s technically a form of “tail vice” that I have, that works with the bench dogs. I made mine nearly thirty years ago, as a “temporary” bench. I guess they’re all temporary when you think about it 😎. But I’m actually planning to build a workbench as part of a new course offering in the near future, which I will be introducing during Shop Night Live. So if you are interested in something like that, stay tuned!…and be sure to sign up for our mailing list at epicwoodworking.com so you will hear about new courses and happenings as they come along. Thank you for watching and being part of us! 👍😎
