Excellent, enlightenment! Dude good explanation in the beginning, it really helped me understand the whole concept. Dunno what some other commenters on here are talking about “530” seems to me if they already knew all that info, that they didn’t even have to watch this video
Excellent lesson. I play a nylon strung cross-over guitar. Love blues and jazzy sound in finger picking style. I have been 'raking' for many moons without any awareness of a concept of this picking technique. This video has helped me control and improve my raking skills over night; glad I stopped here, thank you!
Man, did you ever fix why I was messin’ up. Watching other videos with arrangements and tutorials where even the rake part, no one and I mean nobody explained palm-muting on the way up. I was going up with my fretting hand trying to dampen the strings. Awful 😫. Then as you mention, use the fretting hand to mute going DOWN if you want to attack a lower target note. So logical. I like how you encourage to keep working at the rake variations to what effect you are trying to achieve. I will work it, so yes-thanks.

That is one of the most outrageously good looking guitars i've seen.

It's a PRS, more like a les paul with a strat body but this is mccarty 594 model so this one much closer to your traditional les paul.
