    VIDEO INTRODUCTION:

Now although Titan has a lot of brands under its canopy, the jewellery division alone accounts for 75% of its total business! and as of 2021, Tanishq generated a net sales of 20,600cr!! and today it is one of the biggest jwellery sellers in the Country!! So the question is,How did Titan turn Tanishq into the such a huge brand? Lets find out in this video!

    Eventhough on paper Tanishq is leading gold jewellery makers, Jwellers from Kerala like Kalyan, Malabar , Alukkas, Bhima rule the market because on paper sales of gold in these jewellers may be very low but the real sale is much much higher than even Tanishq can think of. My father owned a gold purification and testing centre for 45 years . He also did jewellery making for jewellers in between. Gold market in India cannot be studied using B-School experience you have to dive into it. Gold Nexus works in very complex way , politics, terrorism , traficking,religion,region,power,money everything counts here . Even if people have all these ,many of them fail due to backstabs and rivalary. The reason because gold is so loved by people in power is unlike paper money gold doesn't leave paper trails .Gold is nasty buisness.

    Mind-blowing video man, I am a jeweller for the past 12 years and this video contains so much information towards brand building in jewellery, all your facts are true but you should know that Tanishq charges in the name of making charges and they sell for thousands of rupees which only cost 5-10 rupees, and when you go to return or exchange these items you get for these stones.
    Secondly Tanishq if you ever compare from local jewellers.
    So many crooked jewellers have now changed or changing their way of selling and they are moving towards selling only hallmark jewellery.
    Markets are evolving and brands like Tanishq have helped in informing customers about some discrepencies in jewellery purchasing mainly which only suits them.

    I visited jewelers for last couple of years when the prices went down and trust me I had an opposite experience. High pricing, poor response, lack of various designs and very few people at the counter compared to Malabar, Kalyaan, few big local players, Jayalucas, and few more brands. I was disappointed with Tanishq. I don't doubt on your researching abilities but trust me dude, I observed this for the entire year. We had to wait in queue in Malabar but Tanishq, it was empty.

      @rohitghali Před 2 lety +53

      Yep. I also had the same experience. GRT, Malabar, kalyaan, etc are so so filled up. I've never seen a filled up tanishq. I've never met a relative who bought Tanishq jwellery. He's charging making even on gold coins. What's there to charge for making in a coin? Nobody charges making for a coin or bar. Bullshit.

      Tanishq is doing same things what local Jewellers did in past.
      Today if you check the Product Discription of Any Diamond Jewellery of Tanishq you will find that the prices of Diamonds are minimum 3x of what a local Jewellers can provide with better Purity.
      Secondly the Making Charges are 4-5x more then normal Industry Standards.
      So long Story short if you purchase any Diamond jewelry at Tanishq or any other leading brand.
      It will take minimum 7-10+ years just cover your cost of Jewellery.

    • @sidmoitra007
      @sidmoitra007 Před 2 lety +10

      I would also add here that, I trust BIS hall mark and the bill from that particular brand. Just because the bill, the brand and the hall mark says the thing that I'm buying is pure gold so I too trust it. Now these brands may sell me even copper and it hardly matters because all I want is bis hall mark, brand bill and general acceptance. That's it. Who cares the gold is how much gold or the truth is true or not. Mai return kr ne jau, return hona mangta hai and it should be respected as gold that's it. Fir vo kuch bhi ho, copper or brass I don't care.
      These fancy machines are just a marketing gimmick. I have worked with Tata and I know how beautiful and Bureaucratic they are?
      Now after seeing so many comments in my favour, I think this guy (presenter) has lost the path. Dude, you need to recheck your facts before serving us.

    I'm so glad I discovered your channel, I don't typically believe in consuming content that's out of my scope (I'm US-based)...but I 100% believe that your country and its leadership are using all the tools we have available during the information age (in the correct way) in order to enable a democracy that exists within capitalism to continuously succeed through competition and innovation. Despite some detractors (VISA) claiming things like nationalism, compettion and innovation is a good thing..and it's fundamental to driving capitalist societies (and hopefully humanity) forward. We should be in a position of learning when someone else has a better product, and we should always be proud of another country's successes...as we're all the same, other than creative differences and we can all learn off of each other.
    Your statement at the end, about validating the data is fundamental to acting upon information. For some reason this is something that people do not understand in the US. We do not understand how this works, how to define what a monopoly is (for some reason...especially wrt information), and because of the fragmentation and opacities of our education, people misinterpret how the systems they live in actually affects them daily.

    I still think they are more bigger player which are not listed. 20kcr sale in jwellery is nothing. Indian jwellery market is 6lakh cr . It is just a 3% market share. For a 30 yrs business with a tata brand what that tell you my friend that their customers are not loyal why just go to a local jewellery shop they will charge you 10% as making charges what tansihq charge is 30% so their is no repeat customers. I can tell you in next 2 year as gold price rise you will see their sales number will only go down in volumes. and if you want to do give quality research to your subscriber do from all angle. And you purity questions has taken back seat because you can buy hall mark jwellery from jwellers. And for you subscriber they can go short the target is 50% from the top for titan may be buy next diwali

    Few benefits of Family Jewellers who works on Principles!
    1. Now a days they do have a xray Spectrometer, you can't compare all FAmily Jewellers to Tanishq
    2. Ask someone in the industry,how and what way Tanishq fools in diamond pricing and what is the value of Diamonds purchased from them, they won't take your diamonds and Tanishq diamonds won't be taken by Local as they have Marked up heavily on pricing!
    3. Facts and figures can be manipulated,in my small town there are 120 Jewellery stores and I am talking about North West India!
    4. Chain Brands are doing well like GRT,Bhima ,PNG ,WHP as well so make sure to focus on them as well!
    5. Time has gone when Progressive Jewellers focus on providing Quality as well!

    i am from the jewellery manufacture industry... jewellery being an fashion product but also has major role of investment....but these brands like tanishq etc charges customers with 28-30% making charges,sometimes I've also seen upto 43%...thus upon selling these ornaments after a period of time,customers still get loss,this leads to loss of interest of customers in gold jewellery.
    whereas if u buy from a small jeweller,u will get the same hallmarked product in much more lesser making charges like 10-12% max and also the gold rate will be 100-200₹ cheaper than tanishq...
    normal customers shoud keep in my mind if brands like tanishq and kalyan etc are getting their products endorsed by huge celebrities even though the product is same as u can get at any small jeweller,then from where will the cost of endorsement from celebrities come?
    offcourse from the pockets of the customer.even the cost of huge showrooms, decoration,staffs and all other fancy unnecessary facilities will be charged out of the pockets of the customer as the product is same which u could get from a smaller jeweller at a very less price.
    anybody wants any ans regarding gold and jewellery,do drop a comment,happy to help and spread awareness.

I did the math and found out that by spending 50k i got the gold of rs 26k only. But in tanishq after adding gst and everything if is spent rs 100 then i will get 83% gold all. Tanishq charges mountain fees, like 20to 30% wastage on gold compare to 10 to 13% at local jeweler which is enough for a making, still These brands growing because of marketing they do , they make you feel like your respected person or posh person if you buy their product...I remember until last 5-6 years nobody knows about custom of buying gold on dhanteras other than some north indian communities, thanks to these gold brands now every corner of the country knows it and buys gold on that one day like crazy, and some people buys gold by lone money. and it Saddens me seeing how people spend their hard earned money on that one day (and the level of frouds happens on that day is bonus)

    But with us you will get better service, personal customisation, legacy and relationships.
