A few days ago my 14 year old son butchered his first rabbit. I had no idea how to cook it. After letting it hang a few days, I followed this recipe today.... Incredible! The whole family was so impressed. Everyone was skeptical about eating a bunny, but we're trying to be supportive for my son who is a bit of a wild man. Now we're all on board!
😳👀💀 Texas chainsaw massacre
Poor Rabbits and bunnies don't deserve to be killed no animal does except the 2 legged ones who abuse
@@wendyaminzadeh7846 come on, tigers also hunt. It's about food chain. Not everything has to be judged by emotions.
@@wendyaminzadeh7846why are you coming onto a meat recipe to get upset?
I think it's great to foster his little man traits...to many soft boys being raised❤
congrats mom on doing what's right.
Tonight will be the 2nd time following the instructions in this video. My wife absolutely loves it. She ordered 6 rabbits from a local man who raises and butchers them. We finally got 4 of them yesterday so tonight I’ll try again to make my wife happy with her supper. Thank you sir.
You all are heartless people
Another excellent recipe for my lovely buns out back! Love having rabbit literally any time I want
Lucky guy, I love rabbit but they’re hard to come by where I live
YOUR ALL HEARTLESS
@Wendy Aminzadeh awwww sad face
@@wendyaminzadeh7846wouldn't you just love to try this with some crusty bread!
Ok Scott, you've heard the saying "that makes my mouth water". I literally had my mouth water watching this. You make the best food. This stuff rivals most if the restaurant food I've eaten. Are you willing to relocate to the U.S.?? I'll hire you as my executive chef!

@@cheryljones7123 Well, color confused.
lol mate just make it yourself
Your mean heartless people you abuse animals you killers
Strangley enough, when me and my friend coocked our first rabbit, that was almost exactly what we did! And, of course, it was so tasty. One of the best meals ever.
We need more rabbit in our kitchens! asy to farm, and very tasty! Just add fat.
Thank you for this.
You are nasty Martin
Great video & who doesn't like rabbit stew 🍲 gonna make this tonight & have it tomorrow with some friends, tks 4the upload. 👍☘️🇮🇪
I love learning new recipes, new twists to old recipes...I will definitely try this. Rustic, simple and, hopefully, delicious!
I've started raising meat rabbits this last year and this recipe is always a winner!
I've really loved your recent videos. The recipes and preparation have you back in fine form and I hope you keep going! VIdeos like this are what brought me to SRP in the first place and I hope all your viewers and fans are recommending them to others!
No I am not an animal killer like all of you are
Looks delicious 😋
I like to put half a half a dozen or so black olives in a rabbit stew - as my French mother and grandmother would do. Adds another level of flavour and a bit of colour. It doesn't end up all tasting of olives though so don't panic! And perhaps some dried cep/porcini mushrooms. Now off to find me a rabbit!
YOU ARE HEARTLESS KILLINH A RABBIT WHAT NEXT A HUMAN
@@wendyaminzadeh7846mmm this looks super tasty!
Thanks for the great video. So glad I found it ahead of the California cottontail rabbit season. If I get lucky I will for sure do your recipe.
I've been fasting all day.. this looks magic! I'm going to really enjoy cooking and eating this fabulous looking dish!
I like this made with Flemish breeds
That really does look so good! 🤤 ive never eaten rabbit before, had one as a pet once
First time watching. OMG awesomeness
I've given up on my research and have to ask what are those yellow things? I feel like im hearing "sweed balls" but I've scoured the internet and got nothing. Also great vid I was drooling.
Me too! I found suet balls. It sounded like sweet balls
Swede is the UK term for Rutabaga, also known as Swedish Turnip
I love rabbit. That last bite fired me up to get some more of it down my neck.
beautiful
The best dish you have ever cooked
It's nasty and heartless
I did it! ❤😊 Thank you for a recipe to pass down! ( watched from Tennessee - USA)
Scott, huge fan here from the US. Love the videos and some of my families favorite recipes are yours. The beef stroganoff (we make it with whitetail deer) is incredible.
Quick question re rabbit recipes. Do you always use wild rabbit/hare or do you ever use home raised rabbit such as New Zealand Whites, etc?
Here in Minnesota qe have wild snowshoe hare and cottontail rabbits. Both can make excellent table fare but both are tough and need to be cooked appropriately.
I can almost smell that rabbit browning in the skillet. Yum!
Scott - I wanted to see a pic of the dog. Your dog must live a great life considering your profession.
Slurping in the water bowl is an immediately recognizable sound to all dog owners.
Next time Little City Market, SF, CA has rabbit, I know what I am getting! Only butcher in the area where I have seen rabbit.
Scott, another excellent recipe. Thank you. I put the bacon in the pan and then brown the rabbit in the bacon fat.
YOUR HORRIBLE BRUCE
Rabbit is delicious food.👌😉👍
This was absolutely phenomenal
Loved every minute of this thank-you so much for sharing you always make me smile, warm my heart and inspire me to want to get in the kitchen ❤️

SSH, we don't on want everyone to be eating rabbit, less for us.
Good video Scott, thanks.
I would definitely smash that rabbit stew! Looks fire!
Enjoy! Looks really good never had rabbit stew before needless to say a rabbit for that matter, but i'd like to try it someday. With a pot of white rice or with mash potatoes to go along with the rabbit stew i definitely can't say no to that.
Nice review.
"Excuse the dodgy piping, I'm a geezer"😂😂
Mmm mash potato the Irish guacamole
Here in Thailand I haven't had rabbit stew for over thirty years. I'm eating kao tom. Boiled chicken and rice. Very tasty but watching this video and imagining rabbit stew. Nice one Scott. You've gone a bit pouffy with the piped spuds though ;-)
Hey Scott, I just came across your channel looking for rabbit recipes because I am starting to raise meat rabbits. This recipe looks amazing and I can’t wait for my rabbits to grow out so that I can make this amazing dish! Thanks for your videos and recipes!🙏 Poppy
This is a beautifull recipe. My siblings don't like rabbit but they left the plates clean. Also, I love that it's an easy recipe. Thank you so much!
Well the ate rabbit so they liked it duh. So heartless you all are
@@wendyaminzadeh7846 i think you misunderstood me...
Instead of using gravy granules, couldn’t you just leave the lid off for the last 20/30 minutes of cooking to allow the stew to reduce? That way you don’t ruin all those hard won flavours by masking it with Bisto! I don’t know how much you used, is it literally just a pinch? Coz it’s a pretty salty, powerful flavour is old Bisto. That or a buerre manier which you mention in the video. Just a thought. Looks absolutely stunning though mate.
Use the gravy granules. Or leave them out. It’s your choice really.
It's a stew!
Meaning you can add whatever you like. Usually, whatever is in your fridge/freezer.
Tomatoes might be good. And peas. And beans. And......
@@JoshuaGonsalves a little bit ofolivol.
@@stevefowler3398 I’m just thinking of ruining the stew with Bisto lad. Sometimes, once it’s in, everything tastes of it.
@@gilbertwalker3222 that's true mate
But it is still fab.
I was wondering about dumplings. And I am salivating now
bit like a "super model",....... good one
Nice one mate I like rabbit stew
haven't had rabbit since the 70's and I used a Deliah recipe - wonderful it was
Sounds like the dog likes what you cooked also
Great ideas for my rabbits and my duck fat

Good to see you back on the tube.
What the hell is a Swede Ball? Potato? Turnip? some other root? Serious.

Superb.
That stew looks so lush!
I hummed and haahed about this. It does have to be asked, though.
If this is the best rabbit stew ever, why isn't it in the bloody book? 😀
That looks absolutely awesome very good I bet it’s very tasty also
I cannot be the only one that always wanted to make rabbit stew…I blame all the movies I’ve watched😭🤣
Oh that looks absolutely scrumptious. :-) not bad for big sausage fingers.
Mash potatoes piped on the plate is a nice touch. The French would be proud.
Wow mouthwatering vid...my mother ( msrip) maked this once in a while for us brothers, and we enjoyed it! (talking about the '60)
You and your family is heartless Ferd
First off, long time fan. Just raised my first batch of rabbits. This was the recipe I used. Absolutely amazing.

Awesome stuff man. Very instructive this time. I'll take the front end leftovers of bunnykins out of the freezer and treat it to this.
there have only been 2 times your cooking has made me want to cry the first was steak and kidney pie and now this rabbit stew both are favorite dishes that I can't get in the US. I haven't had a kidney pie in 45 years and a good rabbit stew in 38 years so I miss them both badly . I know how to make both very well but have a misses that is a bit of a prude only when it's about food so I'm left out .
Feels bad man.
Looks like just the thing for a Winter night. Happy New Year to you mate 👍🏻✌🏻
I love bunny stew
Man that looks good. Now I have to go hunting
Tasty looking, almost as good as my Sainted Grandmother's. Best
Happy New Year man! I've never eaten rabbit, but this one surely looks amazing.

Hi Scott, I don't eat farmed meat (sort of a personal challenge type thing) could this be made without the bacon? Cheers !
