    The 700 pioneer is a solid, capable trail or work machine. If Honda would develop a 5 or 6 speed transmission it would be the ultimate midsize ride

    I’m 42 and debating on getting a 520 or heck just getting a rubicon… wish Honda would add the diff lock and turf mode to the 520 then it would a great machine

      I feel your pain. I was very close to buying a Wrangler, a Ford Ranger extended cab, and a Japanese Kei truck during the time I was waiting for this to come in. the 500 Class machines seemed a bit too small for me. Almost like a widened ATV chassis.

    Went to buy a Yamaha yxz, ended up buying a honda pioneer. Still glad I did. Convenience Comfort. Utilit. Climbing Reliability, I did good. I'm not having a mid life crises lol.

    Great video because I think most people get hung up on the speed part when they forget about the point you made… how many times do you actually go over 35mph on a trail … great point

      You GET it!! Glad you enjoyed the video. Unless you are out west and hitting sand dunes, top speed runs are a rarity. If all I want to do is go fast... there are cheaper ways to do it.

    This machine seems like a good compromise. Fast enough, big enough but not as expensive as a 1000. I don't think I would want the 500...will get something like this when we get our bigger place with more land where we will need a UTV.

    • @ChoresOnTheFarmChannel
      @ChoresOnTheFarmChannel  Před rokem

      Couldn't have said it better. The 500 is essentially a four wheeler chassis with two seats. Maybe a step up from a golf-cart; but barely a "Side-By-Side". the Liter machines are great - and if money were no object, I'd have one. A little extra "oomph" on the rare occasion I needed it. But you are over 25k out the door, which makes my stomach turn! A 1000cc's is also less forgiving for the younger operators I will have in a few short years.

    I totally agree about how 25 feels faster than it sounds… i have a hisun 750… it goes about 45 pinned…. Yes… 35 feels kinda slow on the road… 35 anywhere BUT the road, is WAYYY too fast.. lol

    i dont know if i should get this or the club car Onward Lifted that can hold 4 passengers. The club car can go top speed 19 and the 700-4 goes 42 so I don't know. Would 19 feel fast?

    Do you think EPS is over rated on this machine?

    • @ChoresOnTheFarmChannel
      @ChoresOnTheFarmChannel  Před 10 měsíci

      No Way! There are very few use cases where I would not get EPS. I specifically got the Deluxe for the EPS. My buddy has a Ranger 900 that is a few years older. when you are used to EPS, and you get into that thing it feels like you are driving a tractor, and fighting the machine at low speeds. The steering in the Honda is effortless and responsive. I also have a wife, and kids that will eventually use the Pioneer. I am more comfortable knowing they aren't going to struggle to control it.

    Cant decide between the 700 and 1000
    Have 20 miles of trails that are low speed but worried the power of the 700 will not be enough especially with 4 people

    • @ChoresOnTheFarmChannel
      @ChoresOnTheFarmChannel  Před 8 měsíci

      the power is not an issue. Top-speed is. I have had my brother (6' 2") myself, my wife, and both kids in it and was not upset by power or capability. If you are not worried about straight line speed and/or beating anyone off the line, you will be fine (and a few thousand richer) with the 700.

  • @herrenator838
    @herrenator838 Před rokem +1

    Would you go 1000-5?
    I have a family of 5. Does the middle work well enough in the 700 to be a seat?

    • @ChoresOnTheFarmChannel
      @ChoresOnTheFarmChannel  Před rokem +1

      How old are your kiddos? If you are regularly riding with five, and had the money, the 1000-5 would be supreme. Three adults can not comfortably sit in the front seat of the 700. Mainly because the two seatbelts poke the center rider in the back. A skinny-butt 5 year old would be fine, but your family will outgrow the machine.
      My biggest issue with the 1000-5 was price. I could only fine Trail/Forest Editions in stock. I think the “out the door price” difference would have been around 8 grand between what I paid and one of them. Couldn’t stomach that. If you have the jingle you will not regret a 1000-5. Left over 1000-6’s will be a tad cheaper; but you are giving up the short wheelbase.

      @@ChoresOnTheFarmChannel thanks for the feedback picking up 1000-5 as we speak. 3 girls the oldest just turned 4 so young but plan on having the machine till it quits

      @@herrenator838 I think you’ll love it! Stop back and let me know how it is working out. Or better yet, bring it by the farm and I’ll do a comparison video (without having to spend 1000-5 money) LOL.
