    Thanks for video. The engine air filter wasn't very dirty, I would've let it stay. Cabin filters are a pain 90% of the time.

    I spent less time taking the glove box out and changing the filter than I did trying without taking it out. Thanks for the help.

    One thing you can also do is get your favorite calone or perfume and spray the filter on both sides so when the vents are blowing air it will make you're whole car smell good all the time.

    Thank you for doing this. Even though you don’t have to take out the glove box, I’m glad that you did so I could understand where the filter is located and the positioning for getting a new one in. I couldn’t figure that out from other videos where the glove box wasn’t removed.

      The coupe version of the Altima requires removal of the glove compartment since it gets in the way of access to the filter. The sedan version of the Altima doesn't require removing the glove compartment.

  • @mchan1007

    Very helpful. Thanks!FYI... the glove compartment didn't need to be removed. The passenger leg panel can be removed to get to the latch for the in cabin filter.It's relatively difficult to replace (put back) the new filter and it takes longer to remove and to install.The removal of glove compartment gives you more room to move making the replacement easier though.

    good video. Just a caution. As you opened your hood, I noticed your battery terminals are corroding. If you haven't changed out your battery yet, I suggest you do it quickly. I just had the same thing happen with my 2013 and it literally ate away the terminal cables. I'm getting them replaced as I type this

    Yeah man, you don’t need to remove the glove box. It’s pretty much the same. Probably giving yourself very lil arm room, but it’s still tight space to remove the filter

  • @themechanic6117
    @themechanic6117  Před 7 lety +8

    The glove box does not need to be removed to replace the air filter. It sure did help for me to get more access so I can record this video and show you how to change your cabin filter but it's not necessary to remove the glove box .

    Thanks for this tutorial, idk why car makers making it so hard to just simply replace the ac filter, why they make it like easily reachable without disassembling anything. So the flow arrow should face going to the inside like going to the rear direction? I already removed the cover and the filter but it is very hard to put the new one so now i need to remove the compartment
