I quite like this version more electric version although it wouldn’t work as well in the context of the album. You need something to calm you down after the madness of Battle of epping forest
I just saw a video blog by Steve Hackett, where he explained that he decided to use an acoustic guitar with nylon strings for the first half of this song. This must be an earlier take - great "Extra Track"!
I can't believe some people are saying this is better than the album version! I like this A LOT!!! It's not a patch on the beautiful piece on Selling England by The Pound though? That is an absolutely sublime and wondrous instrumental masterpiece.
I love it, I wish they got the fast bits past a demo version. The "chorus", e.g. from about 0:40 sounds similar to bits on Steve's Voyage of the Acolyte, perhaps the section towards the end of Ace of Wands.
They were always better live, and the second half here has way more energy, but they wanted a different feel. I like that the album version starts acoustic and progresses to an electric sounds.
Really superstars these guys

Love it. Steve’s a painter with a guitar.
Genial!!! Me hizo llorar!!!
Hermoso

Never imagined this song being played like this. Very interesting.
AWESOME!!!!

How did you acquire this? Thanks for sharing!
Focus mood first part
indeed
Still a great song. I wished they didn't cut or fade Tony's Arp Pro Soloist too early.
It's a rehearsal.
Quite.
I suppose as a DIE-HARD fan, it's OK.
2:14 Neil Peart as Steve Hackett.
Wtf?!!
Sounds like Camel...
It sounds queen for me
Non sono i Genesis 😁
WAY better than the appalling bore they put on Selling!
Are you kidding right??
@@vladimirohuber4720 I have the same feeling... the album version is cool but This version is outstanding. too bad that not used on the record
Hackett said that the band as a whole felt the acoustic version worked better musically. This is obviously a demo
I love the album version.
