Audi RS "Moments of Truth" is a series of highly stylized, dynamic short-form documentaries that capture a moment in time -- visual, visceral proof of the impact that technological innovation and risk-taking has had on performance in a highly competitive world.
This film tells the story of the legendary longitudinally mounted Audi 5-cylinder racing engine used in the IMSA/GTO circuit in 1989 at Sears Point. Audi driver Hans-Joachim Stuck focuses on the moment when this fire-breathing, aggressive five cylinder, with its characteristic wasteplate turbo growl, ushered the Audi team to victory. The piece then links the motor sports moment of truth to a story of modern-day design and engine innovation in the 5 cylinder lurking beneath the hood of the TT RS and unavailable in the standard TT. quattro GmbH engineer Michael Ganz brings to life the visual technological advancements of the 5 cylinder engine at the quattro GmbH engine test bed, and through specific dynamic track footage of the TT RS.

Audi really makes beautiful cars. My first car was the 2.3 Audi 100 C3 and I’ve driven and maintained it till it was like 30 years old. I was practically the only person still driving it around. It’s not only older than me, it held so much sentimental value as it was given by my father. Recently, I got to choose a new car between the A45 and RS3 which seems to be in a similar category. I went with Audi purely because of the 5 cylinders. It had more low end torque and feels much more planted to the road. Although it’s more costly to both buy and own: and probably less perks than having an AMG for daily use, you can’t deny the joy of having 5 cylinders in your car.

The Audi 90 IMSA GTO is amazing. Until today I would say my favorite car. And the years of H.J. Stuck in the US GTO series were amazing races. If anyone has by chance a 90 IMSA GTO spare, I would be happy to take it. I just can not pay what it is actually worth.

No doubt that engine is a jewel..
Back in 1991 i had a good business,
I bought a 1990 Audi 200 quattro 20V.. It was the greatest GT car ever made..
I lost my business because of health issues, but I still dream about having a 5 Cyl. Audi.. RS3 or TTRS,.
But my first choice is a 200 quattro 20V, or an UR quattro.

UR is jewel no doubt but 200 Quattro is manageable for buying. UR parts are so rare this days. I couldn’t find good condition grill

Fantastic stuff. My 1999 Audi 5000 made not much horsepower, but boy did it handle. One night in the Georgia Appalachians this 396 Chevelle got on my ass and wouldn't let go. The road was damp and included many decreasing-radius corners. He was a local boy and I a yankee foreigner. But I dropped him like a bad habit. Audi rules!

Quality wise they made better engines back than they did the last 15 years, with all kinds of problems like internal pollution en distribution chains stretching out. And the sound, next to screaming V10/12 F1 engines from those days or group C cars from Peugeot and Mazda, was better than any other race car in the world!

Audi engines have always been very good. But the trump card is a very heavy load, the tires do not hold the load. At that time, there were problems with the shortage of sports tires. At the moment, there are good technologies in the field of compound tires for legendary sports cars Odi and others. You can really feel the power in every corner and straight of the controls. 😎👍

Perfect balance, usable power, not too much, lighter, more efficient, better handling, instant throttle response, later braking, utilize the power into and out of corners 🤨
