Hi, I'm Dean Wolfe, Canadian classic prog rock guitar teacher on CZcams. I grew up on classic 70s prog but abandoned it in the late 80s. Prog seemed dead and my orig. prog band was told by labels we were too prog. So i went onto grunge, pop, then folk, then strictly acoustic solo guitar etc...staying loyal to my staples like Yes and Rush, BUT 2020 was the year of my return to prog and the discovery that SO much great prog went on that I'd totally missed out on. Gotta love Leprous man!! I’ve seen them play this song live twice, and they’re KILLING it. I think it’s fair to say that this song is a masterpiece. The timesignature is 11/4 and they make it sound easy.
You are in for a treat! The drummer Baard Kolstad is superhuman! Watch his play through on drums of this song
Fun Fact: Einar Solberg, the vocalist, wrote and composed the song in about an hour and a half in a flow state. The song is in 11/8 and the final note lands on
Never heard the bands music until now. Band is so tight. Singer has a ethereal voice, very operatic.
Leprous is easily one of my favorite modern bands. Would love to see an album reaction to The Congregation.
I find myself coming back to this reaction over and over again, because I love how it illustrates so well what music is all about. Escapism. Full immersion. Emotion. Playfulness.
As Yogev Gabay put it, this is the grooviest 11 ever!! The outro is just jaw-dropping.
One of the best "prog" songs ever recorded, period!
Saw them live with The Ocean (Port Noir opened the show). What a concert!
I have hard time enjoying metal when the singing is more screaming and yelling, the melody is lost on me, but the mix of heavy guitars, multiple tempo changes and a beautiful melodic vocal melody always gets me, it's the best of both worlds, an enjoyable listen! Have a great day everyone

You should react to Distant Bells by them, that song is also a great example of how they build up the song bit by bit.
Leprous' music is on another level. I had the same reaction when I heard The Sky is Red at the end of the Pitfalls album. I have a feeling more Leprous is in store :)

Another epic Leprous song is Contaminate Me. You should definitely react to it. Its one of my favorites beside this song.

That's the natural reaction I always think people supposed to have. Sometimes I think people really doesn't get the greatness of Leprous!
