    This still works in ACC 1.10. If you want Nordschleife specific setup tips, I made a dedicated video, because some settings are different there: czcams.com/video/BP18HfYhgHU/video.html
    Thank you so much to everyone watching, liking and subscribing, you're amazing! And a special shoutout to Mowgli for the 10 € donation via streamelements, thank you so much! 😊
    There are of course more settings you could adjust. But hopefully this will get you started with your own setups way easier. Let me know how you get on! 😊
    Also I know I haven't touched on wet setups at all. If you want to see that, leave a like on the video and I'll make sure to get that to you soon!

    What can I say. Have been playing ACC a while now and never got to grips with the setups. Literally given up several times and come back because I love rl racing and sim racing. For the first time I actually feel in control of my bloody car. This guy assumes you don't know anything but gives you enough knowledge to understand. Potential teachers, vid makers take note. Funny that I found your video as I have been trying cars out to see what I like and what suits my driving, and have only just settled on the Mclaren 720 2 days ago and with your settings it looks good around Mount Panorama. From a lot of other videos that I have watched they seem to recommend sticking with 1 car.

    I would just point out one thing : if you feel that you car is turning too much on the acceleration, instead of increasing the TC, I would recommend to increase the preload diff, because on your baseline, the diff is REALLY open, so it could be a reason why your car is unstable under acceleration

    • @HDeeRacing

    This is great info. I saw this on a different content creators' channel with almost the same adjustments. However, it wasn't explained in depth the way that you did for us. In fact, it wasn't explained at all. Your direction made better sense and IT WORKS!! While I have been sim racing for about three years, I am not as good at it as I should be because of my set-up limitations. Until now! This is a game changer. Thanks again. One question, am I right in assuming that the max wing takes away from my top end speed?

    • @HDeeRacing
      @HDeeRacing  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Thanks so much! 😊 While researching for this video I also looked at other videos on this topic and found that the general idea was very similar in some of those. But what I felt was missing, was how to adjust the setup in more detail, which is why I felt I had something to add. Great to hear that I was not completely wrong in assuming that. 😄
      To your question: Yes, max rear wing does take a way top speed and acceleration. This is worth it on most tracks in most cars in ACC, but there are exceptions (Monza, Paul Richard, Spa...). I will go into more detail in an eventual part 2 for this video, but reducing rear wing on these tracks can be beneficial, but you'll have to compensate for the reduced rear grip at high speeds. Lowering rear right height is something I always do there.

    On the Aston I run max TC2, I find it very stable yet fast. I can almost just smash the throttle out of many corners and it just goes, without snapping, and without eating into my acceleration.
    Also for many of the GT4 cars you can run TC off no problem, they are very forgiving on the throttle, I've never felt the need for anything more than 1 TC on them.

    @ericmcmanus5179 Před měsícem

    In terms of bump stop ranges between front and rear. Do you know if one side is more sensitive to US/OS changes? For instance, if I need over steer going into a corner, do I notice a bigger change if I adjust the fronts? Or is it more noticeable if I adjust the rears? Or is there an equal amount of change sensitivity regardless?

    • @HDeeRacing
      @HDeeRacing  Před měsícem

      You will very likely feel changes in the front bump stops more when braking / slowing down, while you will feel the rears more under acceleration. Going with extremely different values between front and rear might be a different scenario, but the general rule should still apply broadly speaking.

      @HDeeRacing  Před měsícem

      Yes, it's mostly to stabilize the car. Seems to work best in ACC right now. Sometimes you can use more rear ARB to increase rotation though.

  • @dylanmonahan5909
    @dylanmonahan5909 Před měsícem

    What do you do for tracks with long straights that require a low wing setting? You cant really get back the aero balance from height alone, but my guess is that the soft springs help squat the back at speed. You might need less bump range up front?

    • @HDeeRacing
      @HDeeRacing  Před měsícem +1

      Yeah, ride height is always the first thing, going as low as is needed (or sometimes possible). Stiffer front springs is the second thing I try and other than that bump stop ranges and toe.

    • @HDeeRacing

      Not necessarily in that exact order, though there is nothing wrong with doing that. But I would recommend to only do one change at a time and test it's effects. Also feel free to just try extreme settings and see how that feels, that can really help you understand the nuances of the different changes.

    • @HDeeRacing

      In my opinion it's not necessary. I just set my wheel in the driver and ingame to 900 degrees, so the steering rotation IRL and ingame match. Yes, the soft lock will technically not be correct with that, but when are you really gonna use more than 360° of wheel rotation.

      For me, max wing is a good baseline for most tracks. There are some, where I would lower it, like Monza or Spa. You need to compensate though, through lower rear ride height for example. I'll make a video on that eventually.

Mehr Stabi hinten? Oder über den Federweg hinten?

      As this is an english channel and video I'm gonna answer in english: Reducing rear wing can be a bit tricky to compensate. I usually try with just lowering rear ride height first, then go to toe and last ARBs if need be. I'll keep this topic in mind for a future follow up video.

    I dont understand how to extract the pace from this setup 😔 , i drive to a pretty decent level for a casual driver and i tested this setup on my most driven track monza ive done thousands of laps and know the track to a good consistent pace qualy pace 1.46.6 pb this is with aggressive preset with tyre pressures set and some tweeks here and there .with your baseline setup i can tell the car feels better and i feel fast in the corners and have alot more grip on entry and exit and generally the car just feels better accept one area the car is slower at and getting to max speed because of the max rear wing, on my normal setup its rear wing 4 crossing the start/finish line at 263kmh on your baseline setup im crossing the start/finish line 259 kmh and its killing the laptime getting 1.47.2 at best so far, so the car feels better the lap feels faster but the stopwatch does not agree 😂 im struggling to find where i extract the potential benefit of the setup when i lose so much of the outright speed ? Ferrari 296 btw .

    • @HDeeRacing
      @HDeeRacing  Před 3 měsíci

      I should've clarified that this a general purpose setup, best suited for tracks requiring a lot of downforce. Originally I had planned to do a section on adjusting the setup for high speed (so lower downforce) tracks, with Monza probably being the worst offender. But the video was already getting quite long, so I left that out. I'm already planning a part 2, where I will include this for sure.
      So for Monza for example I would very likely reduce the rear wing quite a bit and lower the rear ride height to compensate. I would then check if that is enough and if I would need to adjust anything else.
      By the way, if you're doing a 1:46.6 on Monza with the aggressive preset, you are very quick already. 😄

    Thank you for your effort I appreciate it but the way you formatted your overlay text makes it a little confusing. I know what you meant each time but a simple US or OS over the left and right arrows respectively would be much easier to follow and remember. If lowering the setting increases rotation put OS to the left and US to the right. It is a case of too much information and the simpler you keep it the easier it is to remember.

    While these exploit/meta setups work they're not necessary as you can get the same exact results with a more realistic set up.
    Where the big difference comes in tire degradation..
    I definitely use the exploit in the rear to reduce tire degradation. The min/max on the damping makes a hige difference between the rear tired wearing out before the end of a 30 min stint and remaining drivable..
    I dont use them in the front. Instead I use a more traditional set up with the damping.
    The mechanical section is definitely broken in ACC. If you did that in real life you would be bottoming out the car and bouncing around on long str8s.
    Using yhr mechanical section as intended can mske a huge difference in how the car drives.
    Remember this is supposed to be sim racing. While some of the meta settings are necessary to reach certain lap times others are not.
    You can really change the way each individual vehicle handles with the Mechanical grip section and with some car/track combos its necessary..
    The McLaren is by far the easiest car to slap a meta set up on and competitive but it doesn't work with some of the other vehicles as well. Especially ones like the Bentley or Honda.
    I would recommend learning how to make proper set ups cause only using META type set ups will make it much harder to transfer your driving style to another sim title

    • @HDeeRacing
      @HDeeRacing  Před 2 měsíci

      All very valid points. The problem with most sims is that there are no (good) ingame description on what settings do and all the interplay between the different settings. Which is why I think most beginners either give up completely, buy setups or use something simplified. Since I want people to get started with setups somehow, I try to provide these simplified approaches. Diving deeper is always an option, but not a good starting point for most.
