    I like how everyone forgets Chilwell, he was a big money buy not so long ago and every time he gets back into the team he looks better than Alonso/Cucurella/Emerson. He should not just get frozen out, our season collapsed after his injury against Juventus last year and we have not been the same ever since. I like Cucurella too a lot actually, but disregarding Chilwell is a huge mistake, hopefully whoever the next manager is sees this too.

One game he's blocking an equaliser against the opposition, another game he's making terrible passes - one which results in Gallagher having to concede a red. If there's one thing I see in Chilwell, it's consistency. Barely has any average games.

    As a cfc fan I’m intrigued by the appointment of potter. I don’t know weather he’s ready yet. But on the flip side he drew 15 games last season. If he just converted 3-4 of those draws into wins he would’ve finished in 6th ahed of united. So he has talent as a manager. But then is the job to big given what bohley wants from our new manager. We have a good squad that could go well under potter. Also in intrigued by the appointment because finally a top 6 side is being managed by an Englishman, you’d be going back to the 90’s and the George graham days at arsenal or the hoddle days at Chelsea for last time a big six side was manage by an English man. So I’d be excited to see how an English guy would fair against Europe’s coaching elite. Could he mix it. Personally I’d rather poch or zidane.
    And I think it will take more than a potters touch to fix the cracks at Chelsea.

    As a Chelsea fan some notes you might be interested in
    • Koulibaly is far more reliable and indispensable than Cucurella, who’s had good moments but an overall overrated start, where Koulibaly feels like, despite not being on his best form, a very natural fit in the team, I’ve found Cucurella feels abit like a spanner in the works at times, especially positionally, he feels like he’s stepping on toes and unable to effectively find space for himself to receive the ball in good areas.
    • Leading me onto the point that Chilwell is just a cut above Cucurella, particularly in the defensive and attacking thirds.
    • Ruben Loftus-Cheek *HAS TO START* , in my opinion one of our best players so far this season, he’s so measured and considerate in the pass, he’s vital to us keeping possession, his ability to carry the ball up the pitch is second to none, and he has that press resistance and ability to collect the ball in tight spots and work a way out.
    • The core around which this team needs to be built around is; Mateo Kovačić, Reece James, and Raheem Sterling. The way we set up has to be geared around getting the most out of those three.
    • Trevoh Chalobah needs more minutes, just so criminally underrated. I absolutely see him as an integral part of our future.
    • The future is with a back 4. I don’t believe any team can have sustained success at the top level with a back 3 system, while it is a system which can exploit weaknesses and capitalise on adding numbers in transition on both ends, it’s ultimately a system which leads to a lack of in game flexibility and adaptability… teams will eventually figure you out, and when they do, you won’t have an answer; we’ve seen this in the start of the season so far with our inability to create good chances consistently.

    The only teams he should leave Brighton for are City and Liverpool and I could see Potter going to City once Pep leaves as they seem to have huge amounts of respect for each other, high chance he gets sacked here, and then he becomes another Lampard(although far, far better) who is stuck at lower to mid-table teams as big clubs don't want to take the risk as they failed at a big club previously with no record of success

Neither of the Brighton players would have been compared with the Chelsea players in the past, but now we see them being the premier player that the 'lesser' players might be able to emulate!!

    as it is proposed, that team could go the same way as it did with Tuchel, without play and without ideas, which usually come from a midfield that in the example given sees only Kovacic behind a crowd of half strikers; not to mention the dismissal of K2, which despite having had some defaillance, certainly did not do worse than the others and remains the best defender of the team, as long as you give him the time to fully adapt to the new game.

    • @hydra8612
      @hydra8612 Před rokem

      To be honest this guy’s formation sounds like it would be a bit of a disaster and I don’t think he really knows the strengths of the players. Playing Kovacic as the lone midfielder protecting the back 3 is a big no, he’s not a defensive midfielder, and then talking about Gallagher and Mount driving up the pitch which is literally one of Kovacic’s main strengths, even Loftus-Cheek can do that well and both would be better than Gallagher there. Then on the second one Sterling and Loftus-Cheek as wingbacks with Reece James as an attacking midfielder just made me laugh, Reece James is at his best when he’s whipping in crosses from the right hand side. At that point why not play Koulibaly as a striker haha, it’s just a mess really. Looks like something you’d do on Fifa when your 7 nil up or 4 nil down. But seriously though, tuchel got a LOT of shit from fans and the players apparently for playing people out of position and now this guys suggesting Potter could do the same thing and you’ve got all these comments saying “wow, what a great idea”. No disrespect to James (the youtuber) but it’s a lot of nonsense really.
