Terminator 2 is indeed a fantastic movie. Oh nice piece too 😊
Thank you.
Who upon reading the title of this video clicks on it and then gives it a thumbs down? These videos are always entertaining and the work is exceptional. This chap is an artist.
Thank you very much. Everyone is entitled to their opinions.
Workshop 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼mind ..blowing 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼😘😘😘😘
Thanks a lot
Hi Working Man, What amazes me about fine handcrafted work, is your level of patience. Some joints are amazing. Fine joinery was borne out of non-existence of metal fasteners for many centuries. Speaking of "open time", we can't use Titebond ll in Arizona summers, it dries in seconds. Rush Rules. Recently listening to The Offspring. Movies...T1 and T2 both excellent entertainment, I worked in North Hollywood/Toluca Lake where much of the filming was done, so i recognized much of the background. (Surrounds Universal Studios).
They call me the Working Man. It does take patience, no question. Thats one of things I have learned over the years. It has taken me many projects to develop patience. Rush is great, The Offspring is pretty cool too. I grew up in Orange County, so I am somewhat familiar with the surroundings of the Terminator movies as well.
Unreal workmanship mate. Thanks for making these videos.
Thank you very much.
Fine carpentry,as well !!!
Indeed.
beautiful design, perfect execution!
Thank you.
The only liquor cabinet that looks better empty than full. Beautiful work once again. Keep the vids coming please
Ha! We shall see what it looks like full....
Enjoyed watching your beautiful work.
Thank you.
Man, that is beautiful!
Thank you kindly!
This is an incredible build.
Thank you very much.
The King
Thanks.
It's a good day when Mike drops a video. Thanks Mike also for making your videos longer. I enjoy sitting down to enjoy your projects.
Thank you. When I watch videos I prefer the longer format as well.
This one of my all-time favorite pieces. The through-pins on the dovetailed top are a gorgeous detail. Thanks for the pro-tips, too. As an amateur, this stuff really helps.
Thank you very much. Happy to hear you like it.
Hi Mike,
I like your approach and I like your style. Well done.
Thank you.
Gorgeous.
Thank you! Cheers!
You Sir definitely deserve for at least 1mil subs for your craftsmanship skills and will to share with others some tips and tricks. Absolutely amazing. Keep up the great work👍☺
Thank you very much. Maybe one day I will get there.
Well done.
Thank you.
I'm really impressed, Mike. I frequent your channel for your production-oriented cabinet projects, but this project shows that you can do high end furniture making with the best. Thanks for posting! :)
Thank you. I really enjoy making pieces like this one. I hope to do more in the future.
Beautifully done sir!
Thank you very much.
Wow!!! This is a masterpiece. I love the way you are paying attention for every detail. Perfection all the way through. It's a pleasure watching you working. Thank you Mike for the vid. I 'm a big fan of your's
Thank you very much. Great to hear some of the details showed through in the video.
a really beautiful piece, well worth the time. Thank you for letting us in on the process
Thanks Joe.
Fabulous videography, so satisfying those up-close shots! Love these videos, utterly.
Thank you very much.
Mike, that's absolutely amazing. The level of detail is second to none. Absolutely love this and all your videos, thank you for bringing us along with your builds.
Thank you very much.
Phenomenal.
Thanks for taking us along for the 15 month journey!
Thank you, my pleasure.
I always enjoy your videos. Very inspiring. My 7 year old daughter sometimes sits with me and she is full of questions that you seem to answer after she asks them... great timing. My 4 year old daughter sometimes watches and her favorite part is when your shop apprentice come on screen. She always says "hes so cute". Keep up the good work sir, Ill be watching.
Thank you Matt. That is really cool to hear your little ones watch, that totally put a smile on my face.
Always awesome to hang out in the boardroom, more projects like this!
Thank you. I will try to include more fine woodworking projects in the future.
Very good. Greatest respect. Thank You.
Thank you very much.
absolutely top notch work. the restraint and execution of perfect, subtle details is remarkable. i'm blown away that there are "thumbs down" votes. perhaps those who wished for an epoxy pour through the top were unhappy?
keep up the great work, Mike.
Thank you. Ha! You're right, this piece is missing epoxy.
Awesome work, Mike!
Thank you Jason.
A beautiful piece 👌👌
Thank you.
I enjoy how you periodically preview the finished piece throughout the video. Keep us knowing where you're headed and visualizing the project.
Thank you. That is something I tend to forget to film, but I think it helps people see the build come together better.
It always amazes me how much more professional and perfect your end results are compared to all the other stuff you see on youtube. Great job again!
Thank you very much for the kind words.
Hi Mike,
I just want to say that the range of your skills is really amazing to me. From built in/ modern furniture made of mdf to amazing hardwood pieces like this PLUS the amazing video quality and very well spoken tips&tricks that you are putting out. You do it all. Thank you Sir and greetings from Germany
Thank you very much. Keep watching and I'll keep posting.
Your wood working skills are always mind boggling to me, but what I've been noticing is your creative cinematography is quickly catching up to your wood working... " The Beauty is in the Details " Thanks again for sharing
Thank you very much. I have been working on better camera angles. Its been a really fun new challenge.
NICE WORK MIKE...
Thanks.
Beautiful project. Thanks for sharing with us. I always enjoy your videos. Your voice/commentary is so calming. At 72, every morning when I stop in the bathroom and look in the mirror, I ask myself "who is that old guy?"
Thank you. I'm starting to do the same thing, I have found avoiding the mirror helps.
You are one of those woodworkers I'll never get tired of watching. How meticulously you work, the detail you give and all the extra tips helps someone at my (low) level no end. We even get the usual music recommendations plus a film in this one.
Another superb video, thank you. I hope the family are all ok and doing well.
Thank you very much Mark. The family is doing great.
Sweet!!!! Can't wait till July dovetail class
Nice! It will be a barn burner.
Really wonderful piece.
Thank you.
Beautiful work 😊
Thank you! Cheers!
Once Again I am in Awe !!! Another Beautiful work of Art. Thank you again. I’d sit back and watch a two hour movie of you making something and give it 5 Stars !!!
Thank you very much Steve.
It looks, great man! Cool little project.
Thank you.
Attention to detail and patience are the two best tools in the shop. You wield them perfectly. A beautiful piece.
Thank you Jim.
Agreed, T2 is a great movie that still holds up! Great build!
Sure does, thank you.
Best woodworking chanel on youtube... Hands down.
Love the style of your narration, the amount of teaching you pepper in, and the care you obviously add to each video. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you very much for the kind words.
BEE-YOU-TI-FUL!!! Love the design. Just ordered the small Chappell square using your product link, been wanting that little guy since the first time I saw it in one of your videos. Happy Father’s Day and thanks for another exceptional video.
Thank you. I have found that little square super useful. I hope you like it.
Brilliant workmanship, it's refreshing to see some traditional joinery used extensively throughout a project in todays domino dominated world. A erasure to watch and keep up the great work!
Thank you Tom.
Great video Mike, very entertaining. With a great looking and well crafted finished cabinet. I look forward to watching more.
Thank you very much Leslie.
Very nice work. Congratulations!
Thank you.
Beautiful master work....👍
Thank you.
Mike, I just got done watching your entire catalog of videos. I must say the one thing I hate about your channel is that you don't have more videos. Your work is impeccable.
It is an inspiration to watch your work technique because it reminds me that I should always slow down and take my time. The results always turn out better that way. Also, I laugh whenever you say "do you guys think that I should do a video on..." Because the answer is yes. Always do a video on that, whatever that is. Congratulations on all of your successes, keep up the GREAT work, and for the love of god, please make more videos! (There must be some CZcams algorithm that applies downvotes to videos. I don't understand why anyone would not like yours)
Thank you very much. I'll keep making as many videos as possible.
Excellent job, looks good.
Thanks Tom.
very good effort pushing your skills, great cabinet Mike!
Thank you.
This is my favorite video you’ve done. Very cool project, and nicely executed. I always appreciate your music recommendations as well.
Thank you John.
Great video and beautiful cabinet.
Thank you.
Absolutely gorgeous cabinet. Like always u do a awesome nice work. Thanks for sharing ur skills with us.
Thank you very much.
Amazing! And inspiring for me to further my woodworking skills.
Thank you Drew.
Mike your stunning craftsmanship aside, I love all the little gems in your submissions such as the weather shots and of course The Shop Apprentice. I'm a fan of two wheel motorized conveyance thanks to Mr. Peart so now I'm an unapologetic weather geek. And my own shop apprentice is off to college in a few short months. My heart is heavy each time I ponder that thought. Spend time with and value those moments with your adorable son. Thanks as always for the quality content. Your work defines the very best of what CZcams can be.
Thank you for the kind words. I just picked up a new two wheeled conveyance myself. Hopefully I have time ride it this season. I couldn't imagine send my little guy off to college.
Wonderful news relative to your new toy. At the risk of sounding like an old BMW rider, it's all the gear all the time no matter the heat or hassle. I intend to extensively tour your lovely state one day. And yes, sadly you will turn around and he'll be off to college too.
I raced dirt bikes back in the day. I have thrown plenty of bikes at the scenery. From that experience I am an "all of the gear all of the time" type of guy. This is a great state to tour. If you are in the mountains, its hard to be on a bad ride.
Beautiful piece... Nice work Mike!
Mr Peters, thank you very much for the comment. I have watched way too many of your videos. You make great videos.
Real recognizing real.
Attention to detail and quality craftsmanship Mike...👌🏽👍🏽
Thank you very much.
I dig it.
Thank you.
Awesome piece!
Thank you kindly!
I love the continuous grain on the Douglas Fir drawer faces! Beautiful wood, as you say.
Thank you very much.
I hope you take this as a compliment, cause it's meant that way:
The cabinet reminds me of some of the casework I have seen in Mike Pekovich's furniture.
The proud dovetails, the inclusion of the Kumiko-style panel, the elegant panels combined with the sturdy feet.
Overall a very well balanced composition, the cabinet really looks amazing and the execution was top notch.
Loved the video.
Yes, this is similar to his work. I take that as a very high compliment. I absolutely adore Mike's work.
Nicely done!
Thank you.
You think you did a pretty good job?
You did an amazing job!
You are an artist and an amazing craftsman.
Love your work and your videos, keep them up.
Thank you. I will have another video out soon.
@D Early Very true.
Great project! The time you spent on that shines through in the quality of the piece :)
Thank you Andrew.
Looks Great Mike!
Thanks Nate.
Awesome Mike.
Thank you Mark.
As always, a pleasure to watch you craft another piece. Such attention to detail and always a great result!!
Thank you very much.
Another great video. I love how you mix power tools and hand tool techniques. Looks great
Thank you. I like using both hand and power tools. I go to the one that is faster for the task at hand.
Sweet piece! love the detail on the dovetails . As always a great video .Thanks Mike
Thank you.
Fantastico trabajo
Thank you very much.
Really a nice designed liquor cabinet. Keep the kids out of it when full of liquor...or stock it with milk and cookies.
Thank you, I like the cookies idea!
I absolutely love this piece. The proud dovetails look amazing. I really like the insert panels you made for the doors too and the difference in the cherry gives it another depth of contrast that is just beautiful.
Glad you like it!
T2 is a great movie and I agree it holds up well. Excellent build Mike and it's beautiful. I always love building in cherry.
Thank you very much.
Very impressed with your work Mike. The attention to detail is second to none. Another A+ on this project, good job.
Thank you very much.
Wow Mike this really is a work of art and I would absolutely love to have it adorning my home. I loved watching this video and thank you so much for sharing your work with us.
Thank you very much.
Great attention to detail. Thanks for the video. Congratulations on getting it finished. Cheers, David.
Thank you very much David.
Beautiful
Thank you.
Amazing work Mike, honestly can't believe it only took three weeks. Hope to see more of the old man, it's a good look.
Thank you very much.
Great video. Beautiful piece!
Thank you Chris.
Amazing work as always! Wish you had the time to do more fine furniture projects I think we all enjoy them!
Thank you. If my channel gets to a large enough size, I will be able to tackle many more projects like this one.
Awesome build Mike!
Thank you.
Looks great.
Thank you.
Beautiful Work, Mike. I'm a big fan of the proud dovetails. Have used that on several cases and it really adds a nice element. Keep the vids coming!
Thank you. I agree, it adds a small detail that adds a nice punch.
Wow - absolutely stunning!
Thank you very much.
Awesome project!!!
Thank you.
When people say "biscuits are for alignment" I don't think they are implying that they don't provide any strength, just that generally speaking when you use biscuits (making panels), they don't add any practical strength because glue is already very strong. The idea being that many newbies seem to think if you don't put some mechanical helpers inside the joint it won't be strong, so it's important to clarify that the purpose of biscuits in that case is just to help you align, not because you *need* biscuits for it to be strong. I agree with you they are plenty strong though
Thank you Chris. I think you are correct in general, but I have heard a few say they add no strength to a joint such as a face frame, which is of course hogwash.
@@MikeFarrington Absolutely agreed, they provide a pretty good amount of strength in a face-frame which is usually almost always end-grain-to-side-grain, where glue is notoriously its weakest. Thanks for the response!
wow beautiful piece! Nicest wine cabinet I've seen. Wished it was in Walnut though!
Thank you.
Your channel is unique in the fact that you are a true professional. Bringing us along to see how your daily projects for clients go. We appreciate you going through the hassle of filming these videos, but soon enough you'll be Wood Whisperer tier and it'll all be worth it.
Thank you very much. I hope you are right, time will tell.
Well done sir, I too have been dabbling in what I call Ishitani inspired furniture and find both the challenge and results extremely satisfying. Keep up the good work and, as always, rock on!
Thank you very much.
My favorite shot is at 17:38, with the even bevels and gaps. Nicely executed.
Thank you.
Like the statistic too 👌
Ha! Thats a good one.
Most videos I just run on the side while doing work on my two monitor pc. And then there are some next level videos like the ones by Frank Howarth, Laura Kamps etc AND Mike Farrington where you just need to sit down in a quiet corner with your favourite drink and enjoy it from start to end. Thanks for the upload!
Oh, and yeah T2 is still a good movie and it has my fav CGI trick ever - the bad cop walking through the bars - I still remember the sensation I felt when watching... :)
Thank you for the kind words. I remember that scene as well. To be honest, the whole movie felt like that the first time I saw it.
Beautiful piece! The craftsmanship really shows on every angle. Agreed T-2 is one of my top action movies of all time.
Thank you very much. Yes T2 is great. Oddly enough it was awesome when I first saw it, but it is still really good today, it doesn't feel 25 plus years old.
Gorgeous, thanks Mike!
Thank you.
loved this video Mike
Thank you Jonathan.
Beautiful cabinet Mike. I think the finish really does this piece justice. There is just enough black- not over done to add interest and really sets the wood grain off. Great work!. Thanks for sharing!! :)
Thank you.
