I think it makes complete sense that the genetic anomaly took place at that time given the extreme stressors that were put on the animals during the KPG.

You just gave a better explanation of this information than the one provided in Nature. Thank you!

My wife argued that lampreys are a sign of intelligent design; they have been unchanged for several hundred million years; also they are so weird; they have eyes but they cannot see, they can breath inside a carcass through their skin, and when attacked they emit massive amounts of slimy mucus that smothers the predator

On the other hand, sea anemones, who have rectums but no rectal openings, can be seen as an evidence against intelligent design. I mean, what kind useless design is that?

Were corvids among the ones who froze on time? I’m a big fan of those little guys. Great video either way, it’s so much fun to learn about science from someone so passionate about it!

This paper was published last Monday? And you said that it was strange (from your gestures, it was mind-blowingly strange)?
    Are you sure it's legit?
After all, last Monday was April 1.

ahaha yes I've chatted about this paper with a few of my Actual Scientist friends and it is, in fact, a real study. The fun truth is, EVERY week in science news brings something mind-blowingly strange
