    Great video, very informative.
    To explain why I am here, to potentially help others:
    My S3 8P started to run rough, poor idle with a hint of a misfire at idle.
    Checking coils and plugs, I can see oil has made its way out of rocker gasket down plug holes and oil is on plugs and reducing contact to coil packs.
    But why is this happening?
    PCV valve has failed, letting high pressure blow by into the head, forcing oil to find a way out of original 2012 rocker gasket, all around the edge and down the spark plug holes.
    New parts fitted to resolve:
    - PCV and gasket
    - Rocker gasket
    - Coil Packs (x4)
    - Spark Plugs (x4)

    After watching your video, I think the next gasket down is the one that's leaking on mine ( valve cover gasket? ) a few drops of oil go onto the inlet manifold over time, so I'm not sure if that's a DIY job as who knows what I might find once I get started lol
    I'll get the engine cleaned up and then i should be able to what's causing the oil leak!

    Nice video Danny, very informative, but boy do you like wasting money. No point in throwing money at Audi on those hardly used parts. If it's working, & no faults with no leaks, then leave it until it needs replacing. These aren't maintenance parts, & would only be replaced by Audi if & when.

    • @jonmillios

    • @projectfearn
      @projectfearn  Před 2 lety +2

      I get what you are saying about the money but these will need replacing eventually and I'd rather do it now for peace of mind and know that the car is being maintained and looked after to the best of my ability pal. I'd rather swap out the parts now rather than wait for them to fail plus it adds to the cars already amazing maintenance history. So I can kind of see the money spent as investing in the car should I ever come to sell it 😎

    Wasted your money on the diverter valve. The one you need to replace are the earlier ones with a rubber diaphragm that breaks up or gets a hole in it. The one you removed is the revised version and doesn't need to be replaced.
