Mazzy, I just went an ordered the first Grinderman album, I am very curious about it. I know you’re a huge Cave fan, I would like to get Murder Ballads. It was fun visiting with you on Rachael’s live stream. I rarely pop on those but David has become a good friend One of the great things about VC, meeting people. Happy New Years Mazzy.

Kevin, a lot of Cave’s stuff I really am not a fan of, too slow or depressing. This album rocked hard and the tunes were so catchy. I was delighted to see the reissues. I would like his album Murder Ballads also Happy New Year to you and your family Kevin

Thanks for turning me on to Lou Reed this year. If there is not a live show happening on New Years Eve, I stay home and watch KING KONG 1933. I am watching KING KONG. Plus I have to go to work tomorrow morning. Next year will be filled with bootleg records buy KISS and The CRAMPS. Thanks for all the fun record videos. P.S. Steve you’re my go to channel for all things not jazz! In my mid 50s now I’ve lost touch with pretty much all rock, punk, and pop genres. I just don’t have enough ears or time to listen to new artists or delve into obscurity.
I do however love my Marquee Moon! Have a great one buddy!
Yeah I am not strong with jazz. I use to buy a lot of jazz but with limiting my collection I need to focus on what I really want to play. I really enjoy finding new music though I always wonder in 10 years will I still be as excited vs my Miles Davis albums. Nothing wrong with focusing on the classics. Happy New Year Steve

Hey man I’m going to make a NY resolution right here & now that I will stay in closer touch with you Steve in the upcoming year! There’s been a lot going on here My wife was diagnosed with renal cancer and has had 3 major surgeries in like 4-5 months kidney removed and 2 hip replacements so there’s that but I apologize for dropping off. I’ve lost contact with a few of my VC pals over the last few months when I likely should’ve been reaching out through our rough patch. Brian, I knew your wife was having health issues but I had no idea it was that bad I can not imagine how hard that is for her and for you. I didn’t feel it was my place to ask what is going on. I hope things are getting better for her and she is healing. So sad. I remember you saying you were cutting back on records Honestly that can be a good thing as we go back and listen to all the stuff we have accumulated. Too often all our listening time is spent trying to keep up with the new music. I struggle with this and am trying to do better with it. That was some Christmas setup! When we lived on Long Island, we could go out driving in any town and find housed all decked out - but that isn't a thing where we are. I just don't even know where to start with Nick Cave, so I simply haven't.
Nick Cave is tough for me also so I mostly stay away from him but this album rocked hard, more my cup to tea Kris. I love Xmas lites! I guess I like brite shiny things!

Mark it was a great Christmas, next year should be the same with us planning a move. Routine Death is not for everyone, maybe that is part of the dark wave that is becoming popular. Rocky has been a great VC friend for years, one of those people I really want to meet someday Happy New Year Mark

My favorite Nick Cave album is "Let Love In." Fantastic record. I saw the tour. The entire band smoked non-stop through the entire show. You probably know but, First Boy On the Moon has a new album out. I just picked it up from Bandcamp. So far, so good!

Happy New Year and thanks for the mention, I think?!, I'm not a channel by any stretch of the imagination, just chuck a couple of things on when I remember, certainly not an on screen content person, I put on these latest two because this year seems to have been such a good year for new music but with about 90% of my buys already expertly covered by yourself, vinyl douche and Ben Rankin there's no need for me to do anything but watch. Television would have been great but at the time you saw them they still were underground and only the cool people like you saw them. No doubt I would have been watching. tv lol.

Little Big Town sounds pretty twangy to me. Just read Richard Hell’s autobiography and he did not have a lot of nice things to say about Tom, but I’m a big fan. Good to see Kat didn’t sneeze all over you. Happy New Year to you and yours.
I need to get Richard Hells book, that would be great. No doubt he did not like Verlaine, he was a control freak but like you I love his music. Kat had to make an appearance for the last show of the year. Was not expecting to see Little Big Town, Little White Church still gets played pretty often on the country station my wife listens to. Had not considered the country Fleetwood Mac comparison. I think that house could have gotten a few more lights on, probably trying to be stingy to save on the power bill lol. Happy new year Steve!

I like the cheese myself. I didn’t go see any Christmas lights this year but did do some goat sacrifice hopping. It’s great seeing everyone put their own spin on goat sacrifice. Goat sacrificing has really taken off if MI but Arizona can be much more progressive than we are. I’m sure it will be the next big thing up here. Based on your recommendation I ordered the first Grinderman, my first Sam Seal of Approval album of the year. I hear the 4 weeks of summer in Siberia is quite nice. Happy New Year Sam

I remember one of the First RSD releases was Television ‘Live At The Old Waldorf’ , which is absolutely fantastic, but sadly almost impossible to find now. If you can track it down, snap it up. They actually did another album in 92...but it was below par. Happy New Year for you & the family Steve,
Harris I have that Live at the Waldorf album. After the flood I found this record store that had 100s of past RSD items and many, like that album, on clearance. I also wish you a very Happy New Year Harris

If I saw that first Television for $100 it would be in my hands in no time lol. I have a friend in Midland who has all those originals of punk classics. I wanted to do a tour of his record room but he didn’t want to do it. Too bad, his collection is mind blowing

David, Pistons just needed to lose one more game to own the record. The Lions was a heartbreak. Should have done the field goal in the first half instead of the 4th down conversion, but still an exciting game. I need to spend more time with Adventure David, but I am a Verlaine fan. I actually managed to get the download for that Routine Death album, despite not having watched this video until 2 days after you posted it. I guess people were busy partying. It sound very much like my kind of album.

I've never really connected with Nick Cave, but I'm aware of his reputation.
Loser sounds like a record my son could do with listening to..something relatable that me and his mum are struggling with ( but thats' a whole other story).
Never heard Adventure, will have to give that a listen...definite VU/ Lou Reed vibe there.

We do like over the top Christmas lights Rob, but they took it to a new level! Like you Nick Cave has never really been my type of music but this album really rocks. I plan to get a Grinderman album. Ah kids, being a parent is all about trial and error isn’t it? No book can help. Both my boys are in their 30s and now lead Hapoy lives, thank god, wouldn’t want to do it again.
