    Hello Steve; Before the entertainment started you should have made a PSA for the new EMS show. Always nice to receive VCT from a friend, Fela Kuti, & Punk Floyd. Congo Funk, Afro Funk with horns ( were you dancing around the house? ) The Struts, early Freddie photo. The Dandy Warhols, melodic bohemian angst. The Third Bardo, classic 60's garage. Take care, Tina & Pat!~

      Why yes, I tend to have dancing feet. They may not have rhythm but they like to get me moving. That picture of the Strut singer was a dead ringer for Freddie, I’m sure he would have been proud. Bohemian Angst, lol. Very nice

    Great guy that Mark is at Mad4vinyl! Nice VCLT. That Congo Funk is killer! Glad to hear that. The Struts know how to rock, if Cheap Trick and Queen had a baby! 😂
    Andy Warhols is such a cleaver name for a band. A dear friend of mine had a band in the 1970s named Garage Mahal. Loved that name. Von Karajan! 👏🏽 👏🏽

    I think Gordon would have loved that version of Edmund Fitzgerald. That's a long song. Lots of great VCLT - fantastic! If only the Third Bardo had waited until 1972 to release that record! Thanks for the history lesson at the end....it's amazing how much classical (or orchestral, symphonic) music is woven into our existence without our even noticing; I think that's largely because we hear it almost from birth in movies and tv shows, etc. Big Rolling Stones fan here - I was listening to Exile On Main Street earlier this week. Rock on Steve!

      Randy, those late 60s and early 70s Stones are filled with pure gold. Totally agree with classical. There are great stories associated with it and most of us are very familiar with it. Warner Brothers cartoons used a ton of classical that introduced most of us to it Randy. Who said cartoons can rot your mind lol

    You did me dirty this time Mr. Carlson. Everyone wants the Struts? Properly named album because now I sure damn well do. What an incredible album. Streamed it twice. Then only to find out it’s out of stock. Ugh! Oh the agony of it all! I have very few policies when it comes to vinyl but one I try to stick to is to not buy out of stock albums anymore. The prices get silly for plastic at that point. So lighting a candle, singing a chant and saying a prayer that album gets rereleased or comes back in stock in the coming years. But you did me a solid on The Dandy Warhols. Not quite the Struts but still a mighty terrific album. And after streaming it twice I have to get it. And thank goodness it’s still available. Otherwise you’d of sent me over the edge with this weeks video. You’re the best Mr. Carlson. Well actually you did me wrong on The Struts by teasing me like that. By dangling that uncatchable carrot. So you are downgraded from the best to just plain great. So you are great Mr. Carlson. And thanks for another terrific video my friend.

      Lmao, I understand your point on an album that has to be found on the secondary market. I had originally looked for that first Struts album but was more then I wanted to pay. Kendall knew I was interested in it so it was great he did that. Glad you enjoyed DW. I think that is one of their best albums. Though I fell down in the rating I’m glad I gave your ears something to enjoy. My job is done!

    Hi Steve, I enjoy the scenic intros of Colorado. Different crowd from Michigan folks? I'm a big fan of the Struts, see them live if you get a chance. The Third Bardo record sounds pretty good. Jacques Offenbach...I know the tune, from old cartoons maybe, or the 3 Stooges? Silent films? Thanks, have a good week.

      Ralph, Offenbach was used a lot in Warner Brother cartoons! Bugs Bunny and the gang used it. People know that tune. I bet the Struts would put on a heck of a show. I was surprised how glam this was, I was expecting more garage rock. Great stuff. On the way to see Blushing tonight

    The Offenbach record sounds interesting, I've been listening to some of my dad's classical CD's recently and really enjoying them. Punk Floyd is not as strange as it sounds as a lot of the punks loved Syd Barrett and the early Floyd - The Damned even asked their drummer Nick Mason to produce their album when they couldn't get Syd. Nice selection as always Steve.

    • @stevecarlsonvinylcommunity9147
      @stevecarlsonvinylcommunity9147  Před 9 dny

      In the US James Warner Brothers Catoons, famous for Bug Bunny, put so much classical music into their cartoons. Most of us who grew up in the 60s and 70s got exposed to a lot of it. I can see the punks liking early PF, I just remember their Hate PF shirts but then it was all about being controversial. We keep finding out that all this music they said they hated they actually liked.
