I really enjoyed this video, the question of "What about this story is effective?" is one I find myself asking a lot, being a bit of a writing nerd. Seeing a whole video based around that concept is both pretty creative and super personally resonant for me. And as a big Fate fan who's yet to watch Last Encore myself (and has barely heard a good word about it) hearing your perspective actually got me really curious about it. Super excited to see where this channel goes, both this and your Code Geass video are some of the best, recent anime analyses I've seen.

Listened to this on the way home from work today. Was a pretty nice listen, you genuinely have a really chill and enagaging voice for this kind of thing, I'm impressed man!
As for the exercise itself, it's both an important one, and interesting one. For me, I much prefer to read or hear someone talk about something in relation to their own personal views and values and how they are represented and reflected in the shows they watch, whether that be good or bad.

Aye, thanks, man! Glad to hear it from you.
Absolutely. Those kinds of personal perspectives can make for some of my fav pieces of analytical content. They feel more real, more empathetic, more involved, making me care just as much about the presenter as the work they're looking into, if not even more.

Nice. Even if I've already heard Trixie make a similar point, it really is important to do this kind of exercise given the absolute state of anime discourse that should already be in the past.
Thanks for listing the music and sources.

Thanks for watching and yea, it's wild that anime discourse hasn't really gotten better because of how people refuse to understand each other or a work, let alone empathize with one-another.
Any time. I always feel jibbed when I hear a banger song in a video and have no way of finding it on its own.

To me this sort of thought process is basic and I put it behind almost every project I do, but I do get that there are many online reviewers and audiences that can barely do so. I'm most known for crapping on RWBY, especially the later volumes. However, I never break away from understanding why others may like the direction the show went and its many story beats. On top of the nostalgia/Monty's legacy it appeals to a lot of the same sensibilities as most shounen on top of implementing certain plot points that hits close to people emotionally (I.e Nora's development in volume 8) and it was practically made by anime fans just like us. Execution be damned I will never misunderstand why people like the show or at least try to seek out those reasons. Those things are valid and the last thing anyone can do is shame it. The least we can do as peeps with a voice and microphone is speak to those feelings while also being honest about our own.
Love the vid bro. Keep it up

Yeah, it's something that many at least probably unconsciously keep in mind but rage and myopic self-importance can easily lead someone to lose track of all that. It's unfortunate, but that's why we gotta remember this stuff. Nobody can invalidate another person's perspective on a work they enjoy or even dislike, and damn those who try. It's something to be understood, not dismissed, and that's essential to making sure criticism isn't done in bad faith and instead differing perspectives can be shared openly and healthily.
Thanks, man. I'll do my best.

But do Love Live fans deserve rights?

I was recently thinking about a much less critical approach to this topic. I think it's time for clemency. So I was planning to make a video about pardoning terrible anime. Still not sure how to do it exactly. Im thinking of stuff like sparing the thanksgiving turkey, an emperor deciding whether a victorious gladiator will be free or a king refusing no petition on the day of his daughters wedding.
