This is an absolutely, without any reservation or hesitation, a world class instrument. When Brigham visited the factory he saw craftsmanship of the highest order. This piano could rival many grand pianos, and it is appropriate for someone who merits a grand piano but doesn't have the space, or already has a grand piano in another room and wants an extremely high quality instruments as a secondary practice piano in another room, or someone more transient and wants to have the moveability of an upright. In every sense, other than it's an upright piano, it is in a similar class as grand pianos as far as touch, tone, and bloom. The quality of the parts and craftmanship is of the very highest order. In the good, very good, and excellent categories, the Petrof pianos are excellent high class instruments. Such a richness of tone, clarity, touch, everything is just perfect - there is no room for improvement. 52" is the best size of an upright according to Brigham. Not enough good can be said about the Petrof 131.

Also, the playing is perfect too!
What a gorgeous piano. Petrof makes the best!
Yes they do!
Amazing sound!
J'ai un Piano Rosler ( Petrof) avec une mécanique Renner que j'ai acheté en 2007 .
Un peu moins bien fini que son frère mais un instrument incroyable !!!
Nice video. I like petrof sound.
I love it. 👍🏻
Simple but deep sound. I agree.
Okay, this is a good instrument.
Very nice song.
I have one im very satisfied i live in the czech republic so i was in the factory too and it was great and i 100% agree with you
Hi Brigham,
thank you so much for your passion and inside to the Petrof 131. If I wouldn't live in Germany I would hire you as my technician.
I own a Petrof 127 since 2005 and I am very satisfied. As you mentioned, the richness of the tone and the whole quality of the instrument is excellent. I posted over 300 recordings on CZcams on this instrument.
Do you have any tip to make the action faster? It became a little heavy since last tuning when my technician dismounted the silent system I don't need anymore and did some intonation. I will ask her next time.
Hope I didn't take too much of your time.
Best regards,
Stefan

Thank you for your comments! I would have your technician do a little regulation next time they are out to help with the touch.
The tone is good..We feel the sound of thin strings that give a more caracteristic tone...good..
I like your channel and your knowledge and sincerity.
I have a Steinway O but would consider this petriof as a second piano. It might be a good piano when I downsize my household. Thank you for your great videos.
You should buy this Petrof and than your household cost have to save somewhere else :)
Perfect.. what was that song you were playing and you also played in another comparison video
Hi Brigham - mine (have used for 2 years) got off pitch within a week after tuning recently. Then I asked technician to come back and retune it, off pitch again on a few keys within a week. I live in tropical area and humidity is high. Frequently open doors (for ventilation purpose). Do you think this is normal?
I have a 50 inch Petrof upright & live in area with 4 seasons, varying humidities. I have a Dampp Chaser humidifier--dehumidifier control system installed by my piano tech. Piano stays in tune pretty good between yearly tunings. Maybe ask your tech if this would help your situation.
Humidity is a nightmare for any instrument. Especially wooden one.. so sorry you have such issues, but kind of expectable under you conditions
Hello ,I want to buy petrof piano for in my house just to play but i dont know which one i have to buy because there are too many choices. Can i get some advices from you please?
And I also want to know what is upright piano means?
Thank you
Upright is a vertical piano-like in the video. Are you looking for an upright or grand piano?
@@brighamspianoservice I like the upright.
There is a lady here who wants to sell me her petrof piano 115 ,serie 572251 but not been tuned sinced the last 2 years . Is her piano still worthed ?
What is your opinion about that?
Kindly Regards and thank you
@@veradejong9437 It would be easy to get it back in tune! It was made around 2000 I believe so should be in pretty good shape-may need a bit of hammer re-shaping and regulation and tuning. The market is very different here in Orem, Utah-but that would be a good price here. Always a good idea to have a piano technician go check out the piano first and make sure it's in good shape.
@@brighamspianoservice Thank you 😊
What is the song you were playing? Beautiful! I just purchased a p131. I’m excited for it to be delivered this week!
And already shipped? And are you happy with it?
My Petrof 131 has no bracket for holding pages of music. Yes it is a registered model.
Have an opportunity to buy a Petrof 135-K1 from 2003 for $7k. Has had a full tech inspection and checks out, appraised at $15k-$18k. It’s a real stretch for my budget, but would I be a complete idiot to pass the deal up? Also looking at an 86 Yamaha G2 for about half the price.
How does this compare to the 135 k1 ?
We haven't had a 135 K1 in the store to compare.
@@brighamspianoservice What about comparing the 131 to the Steinway K-52? super curious as I am in the market looking at different uprights, thank you again for your kind advice. : )
It just shouldn’t have been recorded with a speech microphone because it sounds really bad.
It’s just a different tone character. You don’t get the bite transient at the very start of the note like American pianos have. Petrof and like Bohemia have the German fruitiness or resonance but with actually less bite than German pianos. Have some self-respect jeez, hahaha.
