Yeah sometimes I listen to 2 hours of these livestreams and only 20 minutes of actual gold nuggets are hidden in between all the jokes, self promotion, or unrelated topics. Don’t get me wrong… they have a place too, but the Supercuts would be great.

Christ's statement that these particular men won't be married in heaven because they will be as Angels literally means that gods have marital relationships in heaven, but angels don't, and those who are like angels don't. Otherwise, Jesus Christ would have said that nobody has a marital relationship in heaven, period. But Jesus didn't say that at all. Jesus Christ instead emphasized that angels don't have marital relationships. Doesn’t that speak volumes??? It does to me. Furthermore, it is 100% Biblically false for anyone to claim that all humans will be as Angels in the Kingdom of heaven. The Apostle Paul taught that deified humans would rule over the angels and judge them. The Apostle John likewise taught in the Book of Revelation that deified humans would sit with God in his throne and rule over the Angels in heaven with a scepter. The Book of Revelation likewise says that deified humans will reign with Christ as Kings and Queens. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that the title of King and Queen is a royal marital relationship. Marriage is extremely important to any royal family because it's the very thing that keeps the royal bloodline going for generations and generations. The truth is that we humans are in God's royal family, and marriage is very important to God. This is exactly why the Apostle Peter taught that husbands and wives will be heirs together in the grace of life. This is most definitely an eternal statement from Peter. There is no doubt about that. I can quote many other biblical scriptures that support the doctrine of eternal families. The earliest of the Christian church fathers from the first three centuries taught that humans have the divine potential to become gods through the grace of Jesus Christ precisely because that doctrine is easily found in the Bible, and it's an ongoing theme that runs through the entire Bible from beginning to end. This is exactly why Paul said, neither is the man without the woman, and neither is the woman without the man, in the Lord. That is what I call an eternal statement. Remember that God said, "it is not good for man to be alone." I sincerely don't believe that the God of heaven would change his mind about that. The redeemed humans who become like God, rather than becoming like the angels, will be married in heaven because because gods are married, but angels aren't. This is the true Biblical doctrine that is taught here. True story!
Are you talking about the guy that was a convicted criminal con man? The guy that was telling people there was buried treasure on their land and they needed to pay him money, so he could help them find it? You mean the guy that was telling young men they had to leave the country to go tell people about his message while he was marrying their wives while they were gone. @@krismurphy7711 Read the Old Testament or the Book of Abraham. Abraham taught the Egyptians, I'm not surprised that practices figured down throughout the years.
@dr33776 their meanings are entirely different. Hoe can you explain that even other masons agree that it isn't just a word for word copy. Joseph said of masonry that it was priesthood corrupted, same how Satan corrupts and copies everything holy and good and destroys it. AND EVEN IF THEY WERE EXACT REPLICAS, so what? Both the church and freemasonry are groups of people trying to bring themselves closer to being better versions of themselves, both must profess a Supreme being (ours is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost) and both believe in reaching out to the community at large to better the people around you. Not to mention our temple beliefs and practices are found all throughout the book of mormon, which wad published until 1829, yet Joseph Smith wasn't a Mason until 1840s. Can you explain that one bucko?

When I went to the temple for the first time it was way longer than 90 minutes. We used to move from room to room Creation, Garden, Telestrial, Terrestial, and Celestial. They were literally rooms in the temple. It was live action (individuals who acted in the roles). There was so much more that would surprise younger generations . It was a 2 to 2 1/2 hour process at least. There is so much that went into the endowment back then. I think the reason so many changes have happen is to hasten the work. We are still under the same sacred obligations and promises. That has not changed!! I am grateful for the temple and the ordinances.
ISAIAH 13:2 "Lift ye up a banner upon the high mountain, exalt the voice unto them, shake the hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles." Turns out you have to shake the hand to go into the gates of the nobles. Been in the Bible this whole time.

My father actually excavated that graveyard for 13 years in Egypt. The people were buried in multiple layers of clothing. It was on the bottom layer of clothing where the markings that you refer to were found. During slideshows my dad would show that picture and not say a word, but there was always an audible gasp that went over the room.
That particular graveyard has only had a tiny portion excavated. It's massive and would probably take 100 years to excavate the whole thing.

Looking at the "concentric sqaures" representing different veils (which Jonah said was "weird"), it looked like four veils to pass through to the interior, and made me think that perhaps the ancient veil ceremony was not compressed as it is now with all the exchanges between Elohim and the one approaching Him done at one veil, but each exchange being done at a different veil as one approached the inner sanctum.
As much as I love the so-called “interruptions” it was nice to have this information presented in a succinct way. Thank you, Jonah.

Since my endowment decades ago, I've always opined that the Initiatory is fundamentally, and with little exception, the greatest part of temple work, and the rest is added blessings given simply because our Father loves us and wants us to have more.
I really loved learning all of this. Every day the temple brings me closer and closer to Jesus Christ. I also like the supercuts. Keep them coming.

I 100% support reading the Bible and going directly to Jesus and inviting Him into my heart and following the Holy Spirit (All taught in the temple). @@Electross Mormons use any tidbit in the Bible to justify expansive modern doctrines -that contradict the Bible. The O.T. Bible simply mentions polygamy. God NEVER commands polygamy. After the rebellion of Adam/Eve in Genesis 3, mankind fell into depravity, and away from His perfect design of 1 man and 1 women married together. In the O.T. God is seen dealing with a fallen culture that has engaged in polygamy. Much the same way when Jesus says that Moses allowed divorce becuase of the hardness of hearts, but "it was not so from the beginning".
By the time of the N.T. Jesus clearly says "anyone who marries another, commits adultery".

I'm glad you made this. I tried to watch the livestream and found it enlightening and fascinating, but I could not sit through three hours. This one gets to the meat of the subject and I love it.
Team Supercuts for me! I struggle with comments that constantly distract from the meat and derail the flow. I already listen at 2x speed but now I can now assume if y’all actually have a topic of value there will be a supercut made!🎉 😜 this was great!
I miss the long format endowment. I also miss going from room to room. The live presentation was awesome and so much more emersive.

I remember when I was doing my judicial clerkship, after law school, one of my co-clerks was very offended by the fact that we won't discuss our temple ceremony. He thought there was something nefarious about that. He really thought his idle curiosity should trump our right to keep things sacred and undiscussed.
Keeping it all secret was a great way to stimulate increased tithing….people curious or felt left out, ponied up the 10% admission fee.
My christian boss was offended that he wasn't allowed in the temple. I was inspired beyond my own wisdom, the words just came, "if you don't believe what goes on inside, you have no business being there." He was speechless.
In St Paul’s cathedral in Rome there is an entire prayer circle displaced on the wall. Plus in Latin by a baptismal font it states “for baptisms of the dead” in Latin

We do talk about the ordinances of the temple now. We don’t talk about the tokens and signs. We have come so far and it is wonderful. Prayer circles are also ancient and it is fairly well documented. The church is true.
How many other religions…sects…modern and more importantly had “prayer circles”…..gatherings….incantations….etc etc etc? You do settle for flimsy “proof.”
So, the instruction part of the endowment leads us toward the SAVIOR and His Atonement. It's really really important. Also as an Ordiance Worker we were told that those whose names we are taking through need the instruction. Yes the Intiatory ordinace is REALLY important! I love it. Thanks for this guys.

I’m a worker. I can’t see how they would break up the endowment session. It’s not just for vicarious work- but it’s also for you. The patron. The cohesiveness of the endowment is where the Holy Ghost can teach you. I can’t see it being broken up.

I could see it being broken up. You could still go to each part. Perhaps we could even have a rotation. Like they encourage you to go to each part in order but broken up over visits.
I wonder if the early saints said the same thing… with the endowment taking days, and now taking 90 minutes? Also, them believing their ankle and wrist-length garments would never change….
I think it is smart… make it a bit more succinct and repetitive. That’s a great way to learn!

The parts of the endowment can't be pulled apart and done separately because their order (including the prayer circle) has meaning.

It doesn’t take too long because never forget there’s a spirit sitting next to you going through the ordinance for the first time. So we can’t rush through it.
Also there is plenty of time to endow everyone during the millenium. We were never going to even approach the idea of performing these ordinances for every living soul that ever inhabited the earth. It’s not about that because it’s impossible. So why not just wait for the millennium? Because we want to relieve the wait for so many who are already ready to receive them.

I’m with Jonah on dividing the endowment from those who are doing it for themselves and those doing it vicariously. Where the live is the full thing and vicarious is only the essential.
Also Jonah, we can talk about the 5 covenants we make. See Elder Bednar April 2019 “Prepare Every Needful Thing” and 27.2 of the handbook.
If you go to the Church website, you find the covenants listed.
See, but I think we go through everything when it’s vicarious because we can also get something out of all of it, again, too. It’s a learning thing.
I mean, we’re told to read and reread and, read AGAIN the scriptures. Not “read it once, and then just get the cliff’s notes of the essentials.”
I think going through all of it has something to offer the proxy, too. But that’s me 🤷♀️
@@gingersnaps215 I’d say the option to do the full thing would be there for anyone. I think the whole endowment is beautiful, but I the Jonah has a point on what is essential for a vicarious ordinance.
Just a thought. I would want those who are on the other side of the veil to have their first time the same as mine; Sacred, not rushed, and concise. Many of these souls would have been anticipating this event for hundreds of years. Why treat them differently? For convenience? I understand that there is a lot of work to do. But if you were doing it for yourself, would you want it to be like a production line or a sacred ceremony?

The round dance was actually dancing. Nibley wrote a lot about it. They moved in a connected circle that is represented by electromagnetic spinning that creates a vortex (whirlwind); that stirring from below that invites the reciprocal stirring from above. This opens the windows of heaven so He can send down the endowment of light, knowledge, clothed upon with charity.
Now we are prepared to cross over the gate of light. You are qualified to endure the glorious presence of the Father, protected by the garment of light, overcoming the effects of the Fall.

Thank you for this class, I am Canadian, I always love the temple since my conversion, I have a testimony of all the ordinances in the Temple and even more when I received revelation from high in important matters including what you dear brother are reveling here. And even about the creation 9f the universe and how other worlds were created and how the adversary was confine in this Earth ( planet ). Thank you for teaching this.. what matter most is that we need the power of the endowment fir the very last munites before our Saviour will return in his second coming. May the Lord bless you all.😊

Similar stuff is all over the book of Leviticus too: tabernacle ceremonies. But I guess people who don’t believe that could brush it off as something that’s been done away, just like animal sacrifices have been done away.
