  • If you have tried downloading Chrome recently from Microsoft Edge, you will be in for a surprise, with plenty of ads and banners prompting you to use Edge and not Chrome.

    Microsoft claiming edge is more secure than chrome is like Tik tok claiming it's more private than Facebook!

      @Netz0 Před 10 měsíci +2

      Technically, it is on Windows. It has all the security features back ported from Chromium since it's the same build code, but Microsoft adds extra stuff that makes it work more closely with some security features from the operating system, which Google can't for Windows. It's basically Chrome enhanced with more. In fact, Edge was more performance wise than Chrome both on memory and battery, some of those features Microsoft are now pushed back to Chrome. It means even Chrome users have benefitted from Microsoft adopting Chromium.

    To be fair, Google does something similar. Just try to log in to GMAIL or any other Google service with incognito mode from Edge. It will pop up in your face a switch to Chrome every single time. This is no justification for what Microsoft is doing. Both are very annoying in that regard. Microsoft overstepping with those notifications.

    I had pop-ups to change my default search engine to Bing in Chrome 😮

    It's none of Microsoft's business what I choose to put on my computer....at least it _shouldn't_ be.
    If they want to control my PC then, at the very least, they should help me with its purchase.

    I don't know they get weird about it , I use edge for outlook and Skype and Hotmail I use chrome for Gmail and CZcams and google earth I use opera to watch videos that I don't want recommended and don't track my history (I just don't sign in) and I use Firefox for a better CZcams experience sometimes because Firefox has a nice animation from window to full screen when using CZcams

    For me as of 5-13-24 chrome will not work or reinstall after system restore. To top it off, edge is noticeably slower than chrome too; ABSOUTELY SHADEY TACTICS 😠.

    Will Microsoft force Mac users or Linux users to use Edge too!? I bloody well hope not! I've seen ads for edge when trying to get a new browser on a fresh copy of Windows 10, and its really annoying. MICROSOFT!!! 😡
    Great video, please continue making great content, we really appreciate it. I think you pointed out some really good points.
    I understand Microsoft is trying to gain their share of the pie in the browser market, but I have a feeling this is going to have repacautions for Microsoft, if they keep doing what they're doing.

      They are one of the creator of the core engine, Chromium that effortlessly powered Edge browser 😮

    • @moklbz
      @moklbz Před 10 měsíci

      I found the opposite is true, chrome is clean and faster than edge, the later is hugely bloated with unneeded stuff.

    • @swiftypopty1102
      @swiftypopty1102 Před 10 měsíci +1

      @@moklbz While the software may be clean, the internet connection made by the browser is not. Even your browser starting up or idling, tons of domains constantly connecting for "logging and personalization purposes", and for sync features.

      Feel free to use Edge as your browser then. Freedom to choose should be extended to everyone.
