Problem is the higher trim levels don’t include what you think should be standard. So you end up adding the options you added on the lower trim level on the higher trim level and now you’ve added 5-10k more on the more expensive truck

I drove a 2024 Laramie limited very nice I loved the interior drove really smooth and I loved those few extra options it had to offer over the Laramie it self

I have a Laramie without the L.E.D headlights. I simply switched out the lightbulbs to L.E.D. And now have the best of both worlds for way less. The aftermarket world is catching up very quickly.

Definitely not the same as a headlamp housing that’s designed for LED. Replacing a halogen bulb with an LED has too much light scattering and blinds oncoming vehicles. They are not as focused and don’t have the cutoff like LED headlamps.

Definitely not the same. My 21 Laramie led headlights work way better than any led bulbs I've bought on other cars

I have one of those loaded Bighorns that MSRP at 88k. The only reason I bought it was for the HO and air suspension. I traded in a Wrangler my wife hated because of the 6 spd and my 21 1500. It was the best deal I could make because I usually only keep vehicles 3 yrs and always trade at a certain dealer. If it wasn't for the better trade difference I would have went with a 3500 AT4.

Man, am I glad I was fortunate enough to order mine in 2019. Fully-loaded Laramie Megacab Dually with HO, air suspension, 2-tone paint, LED headlights, CD player, fender flares, etc. etc. - basically $30K in options. MSRP of $83K, off the lot at $77K. Would have easily been over $100K today - my have times changed in just 4 years. Only thing I wish it had is the camera rear mirror.

You scored. I have watched since about then. I jumped in early 22 and paid 62600 MSRP of 63,600 on a Laramie. My local dealer was marking them up 3 to 5K so I had to go 500 miles. That very same unit I kept building on the Ram Site until I could no longer around Feb 2023 and it had gone up to right at 70K same truck going up around 1500 every six weeks to two months. But, there was a certain point back before Covid in 2019 when the trucks were not moving it was "normal" times pre-covid and deals like yours could be had and essentially it is like you are noting. Trucks back then were first much lower priced in the first place and there was that sweet spot where they had some really good incentives and back then rates were also in the 3's. But trades weren't good then. I actually looked then but trade ins were horrible around then like Sept 2019. I was offered 17K for a 2015 Outdoorsman with 60K miles as trade so waited and at 70K miles with a problem in 2021, the dealer gave me 29K trade in and I got a 1500. I had messed up though and so ended up getting the 22 2500 in late Feb 2022 still came out ahead like 7K on that first trade in 2021 but not nearly as good. I financed 35000 on the 21 1500 that MSRP'd at 57K and financed 56K on my 2500 so really was still ahead on the whole thing but not nearly as good as yours. I brought home the 22 when gas went up to five bucks a gallon but at least I got it BEFORE the interest rates skyrocketed and got 3.24. It has been interesting to watch all this over time.

I think you are forgetting about the extra colors you can get on models below the Laramie model levels. I prefer more color selections than red, blue, 2 whites, 2 blacks, silver and grey.

I opted for a 2024 tradesmen 3500. The bighorn didnt really add anything i wanted. Got the 12 inch screen. To get the safety package, they make you choose chrome appearance package which makes the truck look worse imo. The tradesmen is the only one that allows you to get vinyl seats, which is helpful for me using it as a construction work truck

Ridiculous pricing. Ram has nothing I'd want that's worth a 10-15k premium over a roughly equivalent GM or Ford build.

I agree on pretty much all points. I have the 2022 Limited Longhorn. I am into this new interior color they're offering. I feel I did ok - sticker was $92 and I paid $85 - but that was also them f'ing around with my trade-in, frankly. I'm picking up what you're putting down though on Ram pricing. So, when I bought my truck, the VP of Ops and Drilling manager also bought new Ford pickups. They paid more for theirs than I did but they also got more HP and torque on their 250's. But at the time I was still (and in my opinion its true now) happier with my interior trim and fit and finish. The last couple Fords I had, had horrible interior trim fitment and overall felt cheap compared to my Ram. Now what I will give Ford is their seats are considerably more plush and soft than the Ram and Chevy. Anyway, I'm stuck with my truck but its a good problem to have. Its a great truck and I just got back from a 3000 mile trip with it - pulling it over the mountains in Utah. But I appreciate the reviews. I like you showing us all the new features on the new trucks I can't just go out and buy. Last thing, I hope you never drive a Jeep. Because if you do, you wouldn't be able to help yourself. I promise you that. I got into the daily driving a Jeep game and now I watch you to stay up with the pickups while I obsess and trick out my Jeep. Haha.

It was early 2022. Things were different - they had to go to Texas to even get theirs. I’d say about 8-10 months later inventories started to build and we saw Ram hold pricing when Ford and Chevy got competitive. Now, it’s flipped and the Ram lots are full while Ford and Chevy are moving trucks.

I have a 22 ram dually crew cab. 4x4. Tradesman
I have been looking at new trucks.
But there isn’t any inventory near me that is even close to mine.
My tradesman is optioned nicer than the upper trim levels.
But it is a gasser also. So my price stayed affordable. Stacking it with options.

I agree I almost bought a 2022 ram limited for $92,000 then I thought and said to myself don't do it. I was able to find a lightly used 2018 laramie that was fully loaded as well as a limited and was then able to get a used 2017 gmc canyon denali for a daily driver. Both trucks combined cost the same as the limited.

I'm one that might argue with you on a Bighorn vs Laramie, but what you are saying is not wrong. It just comes down to what you want. I would miss the fender flares but not the leather on my present Laramie 2500 and I only want a gasser. AND, I don't like the 12 inch screen prefer the 8.4. I'm now stuck above the Bighorn. I am like you though in that I would not buy until they update the cab size issues. I had a 21 1500 and really miss all that space in the back...or rather, the big dogs do... The 1500's will actually have two full generation updates vs the HD's here in a year...

I am a 2019 Ram 3500 owner. At this point I wouldn't buy another RAM. I think that through 2023 RAM had better interiors and was competitive with FORD/GM. However, the 2024 Ford and GMs caught up mostly in the interior department. At least on paper more HP and more transmission speeds. I can't see a reason to pay a premium for an old design RAM HD truck. RAM is not competitive at their current prices, they should be cheaper than the competition as they're old.. I'd rather have a 2024 GMC 2500/2500 diesel for $68K than an equivalent RAM 3500 at the same price. No truck is worth $90K +, they don't offer that much value / luxury for the price. Plus the awful RAM dealer experience, which makes the whole ownership experience worse. DOn't get me wrong I like my RAM and don't regret purchasing it. But if I was to buy today it wouldn't be my top choice (I'm not a truck person or brand loyal, but I care about price, capability and dealer experience.)

If you want a diesel you need a pre emissions truck. The short commute will cause all sorts of issues, especially if left to idle up in the morning. These emissions trucks need to get hot and be worked

but...Laramies are being discounted in my area $10-11K. Limiteds are not. So you can find Laramie duallies with night edition, level 1 and air suspension for high $70s. I've looked at 50 trucks near me never see longhorn packages for some reason.

I had a 2022 ford F250 tremor w/ 6.7 and it sucked! rode like crap, fuel mileage empty sucked like 15 mpg going down the interstate like a working man with somewhere to go and the only decent thing in it was the 10 speed trans. Switched to a 2024 Chevy 2500 highcounty and I'm not impressed with it either. fuel mileage sucked as well same dead as 14-15 mpg felt like it had less power. Now my wore out ass Ram 2500 6.7 with 218k miles still gets 20-21 down the interstate no problem, pulls great, yes its deleted. If I post pictures on here I would.
