Lee, regardless what you say, you are being hypocritical. It is only of late you have been saying you want choice, you have traditionally said EVs ARE NOT the future & please check your own videos if you have forgotten.
The new Taycan may well be brilliant but we still have the infrastructure issue & massive Charging times & costs involved.
This new car changes nothing for the run of the mill EV Driver but it. Seems to have changed you.
Finally, I like the idea of EVs but don't believe they are usable now or in the medium term overall & choice is being taken away.

The £48,000 which they have offered you is meaningless without the rest of the numbers. As you have previously stated the true value of your car is a lot less that they have offered you in part exchange, so all they have done is inflated the value of the part exchange against a new Taycan. To see the real valuations you need the true selling price, not the list price, of the car you want to buy and the price which they are asking you to pay for it with the part exchange.

If you buy the new Taycan you'll just duplicate the negative equity you're experiencing on your Gen 1 Taycan, but you now have to add on the 10 grand negative equity you still have on your Gen 1. It carries over onto your new liability. You're getting out of a deep hole by jumping into an even deeper hole. My advice would be to keep the thing and pray the battery lasts until you pay off the debt then sell the f****r for whatever anyone's prepared to give you for it. The other option is to take the highest offer and write off the loss if you can afford to do that and buy something modest and sensible. Most importantly DON'T DO IT AGAIN! Good luck.

Leasing or PCP would have meant he would have been isolated as he would have just handed back the keys and walked away after 3 years. • @thefiestaguy8831
      @thefiestaguy8831 Před 14 dny +1

What is there to be confused about?
He bought the car in 2021 for £120,000. He currently owes £58,000 give or take. So he's repaid £62,000 in around 3 years, which fits in with the maths as he has mentioned previously he pays well over £1,000 a month for the car on the finance deal.
So he owes £58,000 on the car. The car is being valued by them at £48,000 p/x. So he "loses" the car but still owes them £10k.
In theory they could make a deal whereby the £10k is added to the cost of a new car, but usually that's only the case if you got the vehicle directly from the company's own financial services. If you took a bank loan for it but it's unlikely a bank is going to "just add the £10k" to another loan, especially another loan of £120k+. They might allow you to "top it up" but a lot of banks don't lend £120k+ for a vehicle. Most banks lend up to around the £25k mark at lower rates.

Yes there should be choice but for someone who moans on every EV video about the charging network you are considering ANOTHER EV!!!!!!!!! This has been an advert for Porsche and the only reason you do these videos is to get as much money as possible. In another 3 years the gen2 taycan will be as undesirable as the gen1 is now because of the gen3.
Personally, I’d just carry on paying for the one you’ve got and when it comes to the end of the PCP , pay off the end payment and run it into the ground, if you can get another 9 years out of it and then scrap it, it’s “only” cost £10000 a year in depreciation, at the moment it’s more like £24000 a year.

That 1st generation Taycan, was the Mac Masters "vanity project",
that involved swanning around the UK, eating fish and chips,
in an expensive car, that he didn't even own or could afford,
to make money via You Tube, to pay for it,
by telling everyone, "it's expensive to run an expensive luxury car",
( "THANKS????" for informing everyone about that,
as we would have never guessed it in a million years, LOL)
an expensive luxury car, is expensive to run/maintain,
no matter what it runs on, be it, petrol, diesel, electricity or donkey sh*t.

I would agree with you. Allow the market to decide what vehicle people drive. There's a use case for electric vehicles. Primarily city driving as long as you have easy access to a charging point that's reasonably priced.
I cannot see how the government are going to hit the 2035 target. There's 41.5 million vehicles on UK roads. In a quarter, 1.2 million vehicles are being sold. A quarter of which are electric. At that rate, it's going to take well over a decade to replace vehicles with ICE engines.
The infrastructure would need to be improved vastly. According to a physicist, we would have to provide 3 times the amount of electricity if everyone had an electric vehicle. That is a massive infrastructure project.
What people do forget is emissions from modern ICE are way better now than they've ever been. Carbon monoxide emissions have been reduced by 95 percent in 50 years. Lead was removed from petrol in the late 1980s. Modern engines now are far more powerful and efficient than ever before. Not to mention developments in alternative fuels.
