NO one will catch the midnight rider. Brilliance beyond brilliance...this is what music is all about....comes from the heart and soul. Forget all the garbage that the youth of today listen tooo
This is music. I won't put down today's music because a lot of it is good but this right here, "Midnight Rider" by The Allman Brothers... Man, this is 24k gold!!
dude, i am from the south, and the true southerners are great people, thats why its called southern hospitality.. the food is great also.. get you some of that fried chicken, biskets and sausage gravey, and fried tators, wash it down with a glass of sweet tea... i retired now, and moved to hawaii (7-2007) but boy! do i miss the south. good luck to you, and keep your attitude like it is now, and you will do fine. p.s read some info on the civil war, and u will see the south was right!!
Dano...agreed, Warren gives them such a great combined element of guitar playing and vocal ability. Warren Haynes is one of my top 3-4 guitarists, absolutely awesome.
Thanks for this - I'm older, and a bit more shopworn, too - but I've carried an honest-to-Ghu Walking Liberty Dollar in my pocket for *years* because of this song.
What an awesome sounding Martin guitar! I have a Little Martin and it also sounds awesome when just picking some blues. Martin guitars sound great for blues. They don't sound too acoustic-y for blues.
Valerie Somebody please I have to meet Gregg Allman. I'm 57 and never paid him much attention. He is smart and what a wonder personna! Back then I figured he was a drug addict left over from the 70's! What a mistake! I have 3 college degrees, blonde hair, and blue eyes with a sense of humor sillier than his! Forget furniture! We'd be rolling on the floor laughing so hard it would be of no use! It's not easy being a girl that loves nothing better than good friends and laughter!
Makes me wanna go cruisin' for awhile.. Not at midnight. I did that last week and it was cold as shit on my way back from Sac. Ironic how two of the original member rode and died in motorcycle accidents.. RIP. Errbody else ride safe. As far as comments made about the south bein' right, what exactly are you talking about? The slavery issue wouldn't make sense.. The Allman bros drummer (Lamar Williams) was black so I don't think that was the case he was makin'. Keep the rubber side down, riders
@JML110183 try John Doe, "the Losing Kind" it has that progressive country blues feel you may be looking for. To be honest tho, there ain't much that can be compared to this. This jam stands alone, I maybe bi-est being raised on highway 41 and all.

The kids just don't know nothing no more.
Fire it up and enjoy the music. The spirit lives on.
