  • Do we owe Deandre Ayton an apology? Is he the center of the future for the Trail Blazers?

Ayton was destroying Bam before he left the game with an injury.

Blazers plays like headless chickens . Ayton & Brogdon are the only who produce serious b-ball. But billups didn't count on them he prefers to give the key of the farmyard to scoot & sharpe for a happy mess with eveybody at 5/15 . Don't let you guys contaminate by the phoenix zombie outbreak they were playing the leading role with DA now there defense is dropped from 7 to the 15th and the frustrated haters of the fandom are happy of the trade and to fight for the play-in

I don't think an intelligent fan would ever wish for this team and maybe any team to ever fight for a play-in spot. If the Blazers are a play-in level team (which they are not) they would be better served taking lumps getting young prospect type players more time on the court while somewhat showcasing veteran pieces in hopes of utilizing them in future deals to acquire more prospects. Look at the OKC model, it was painful for a few years but they have had a couple prospects that are starting to pay off. The Blazers should be following this path with the hope they will get a payoff somewhere down the road. It seems that the Raptors have decided to go a similar direction. Having an Ayton, Brogdon, Grant type players on the roster now is not helpful when our prospects have not developed. They are all great complimentary players you should want on a team once the STARS have been identified. Not all prospects will become special, in fact its is more rare than common. The Blazers should aspire to get as many prospects as they can to see if they can find one or two special ones.
