    I applied to my new, at the time, Kia Sportage PHEV a year ago.
    All i did was degrease, de-iron, clayed and IPA before applying.
    I live in Ma. So it gets snow as well as all-season weathering since it sits outside.
    So far it still has protection so I'm expecting it to last till next summer. I went into this hoping for 2 years and so far so good.
    I just did it to my Model Y and it stays in the garage so im hoping for 3 yrs since i only put about 7k miles per year on the car.
    Its such an easy install so getting two years out of it is great especially since i paid $75 bucks for 3 bottles about 3 years ago.
    BTW one bottle does my compact SUVs with some to spare

    Think you did it right. Would not go through the detail stuff in normal wash. Disappointed expensive product insufficient for one (much less two applications). Thank you for honest review.😊

    May be a dumb question, but... why would someone go through the process of claying, decontamiating and applying a coating which will last may 6-12 or 12 months. When you can decontaminate, clay and apply a ceramic coating that will last 3-5+ years? I am still using a 6 month sealant & wax until I use them both up and apply a ceramic coating. I still have plenty of old products left. Thank you, sir.

      A totally logical question. You should clay your vehicles once or twice a year anyway, unless your using a coating IMHO, but it’s the machine polishing process that’s the kicker. If you’re going to go through that or pay someone to do it for you, you want that coating to last. Like I’ve said, not all coatings are created equal, and they often depend on upkeep, but another option for consumer coatings is carpro UK.

    Been looking forward to this follow up. Unfortunately this product seems to have fallen under the too good to be true category. You get what you pay for. Probably get better results with something over the counter like a meguiars hybrid ceramic spray on wax. Thanks for the honest follow up.

      ive used it and have gotten great results, but i also had plenty of it to cover my car fully in two coats.

    When i use Avalon king i know really it will last about a year if done properly but i also use Gyeon can coat as a topper after an hr and i will say it goes really well together and you will get definitely a year plus out of the coating..

    Spot removers have been shown to be good "uncloggers" for ceramic coatings. Sometimes a decon wash leaves some of them clogged.

    5 years? Not even close! I put it on my car, last summer, and it’s barely hydrophobic now. I’m starting over, from wash, clay, ect…, and trying Adams graphene.

    I have some armor shield nine, I have not applied it yet though. I have to Toyota’s or Tacoma and a Camry. I plan on putting it on. The previous video in the series was great, from someone who knows what the hell they’re doing. But aren’t you supposed to put two coats of this armor shield on?

    • @TurnerMobileDetailing
      @TurnerMobileDetailing  Před rokem +1

      I didn’t notice anything in the instructions about a second coat, unless they’ve changed it recently. But if you’re doing 2 vehicles, you’re gonna want 2 kits.

    Hi Turner, I bought a new vehicle 9 months ago and had the vehicle ceramic coated by the dealership. The vehicle is always parked inside but I would like your advice as to what steps/action I should undertake to maintain a good protective surface going forward? Do you recommend an application of Nexgen Ceramic Spray or equivalent? Thanks

    • @TurnerMobileDetailing
      @TurnerMobileDetailing  Před 6 měsíci

      Don’t use Nexgen, it’s all hype. I highly recommend Koch-Chemie Soo2 ceramic sealant about every 6 months.

    After watching your videos i went and bought 2 bottles so i have enough.I want to know if I can just put over the spray-type ceramic coating i have washed, dried, wash with a clay bar. Do I have to do the last step(IP) Alcohol? The car. I've owned this since new it's a 2020 Corvette. Never been in the car wash. Garage kept 99. Percent of the time. and only used mothers CMX ceramic spray. Also never has seen rain

    • @TurnerMobileDetailing
      @TurnerMobileDetailing  Před rokem

      Yes, the IP, or alcohol prep spray wipe down stage is very important. You want to make sure there is no residue from the wash, clay, or a previous wax left on the surface before you apply the ceramic coating.

    What kind of hose water nozzle are you using in the video? Thanks

  • @Rubiowner05
    @Rubiowner05 Před 2 měsíci

    Think you should have washed with a heaver PH soap, not a PH neutral & contact wash to get to the coating! Sometimes the soap isn't strong enough?

    • @TurnerMobileDetailing
      @TurnerMobileDetailing  Před 2 měsíci

      Hard to say with these types of coatings. A consumer grade coating like this is more susceptible to more aggressive cleaners, so I used a ph neutral shampoo as to not risk stripping what was left.

      Unfortunately that’s the crux of this experiment, it says on the manufacturer website to use two bottle on large vehicles… so he’s really just testing the product at half its potential. Which for any product review puts its performance in half. Woulda loved to see this review and update if he used and followed the guidelines

    • @TurnerMobileDetailing
      @TurnerMobileDetailing  Před rokem +1

      @@youngz13o the 2 bottle recommendation does not mean 2 layers, it means you’ll need 2 bottles worth of product to have enough for 1 layer. There’s no mention from Avalon King to apply 2 layers.

    Armor Shield IX is total garbage!! If it lasts 4 weeks on a vehicle that’s a stretch. Applied to a few clients vehicles and redid them shortly after with CQUK 3.0 free of charge because of how poor Armor Shield IX performed. Total junk!!

      100% agree! I installed it a little over a month ago and it started failing after the 1st wash, 3 weeks after application. I contacted Avalon King and they blamed the car shampoo which was Adam's Graphene Car Shampoo, which in my opinion is laughable.
      Avalon King is nothing more than a crap product from China, which they do their best to hide.

      It’s actually exactly what was described in the video… perfectly acceptable protection if parked in a garage and daily driven. It’s not a difficult product to use as an everyday casual car detailer and it all depends on how well the preparation before application is conducted. Like any other brand out there this is just average but it does work in the way it’s explained in the video. I guess if you have a bad experience with Armor Shield it was simply the worst case scenario while applying it. The instructions are very clear and the suggested optimal way to benefit from it is to apply up to 3 coatings. If you can purchase Armor Shield on sale it’s a great ceramic protection purchase. Otherwise you get what you pay for. I washed my vehicle thoroughly, iron removed, clay bar and polished my brand new car and applied Armor Shield and have had excellent results. I do park in a garage every day and it’s extremely glossy and clean the majority of the time. I highly suggest trying it and if you need something better there is always another brand to choose from. Nice video and very informative 👍🏽
