For some reason, I believe if you bought a brand new power stroke today, it probably would not be around 24 years from now like this one would, it would become too difficult to support it electronically and obsolete parts, perhaps I’m wrong? Great video, Tony, always glad to see a new video from you👍
Your late Uncle Leon has a great taste for pick-up trucks.. I can't believe this truck is 24 years old. It looks like it just came from the factory yesterday.. It's a gorgeous inside and out. Who knows what it could be worth? There is to many memories tied to this truck.
It was a decent year to buy one of those. Decent transmission and engine. My dad(named Leon too just like me) bought a 2003 6.0 and was proud of it even though it broke down so much and cost way too much to fix. Your Leon's truck is a good machine and can be serviced without breaking the bank.
That's a lot of Leon's! Yeah, this truck is inside so much, and even when it was out getting the 95k miles is has, it was out of state. There's not a lot of people around here who know it even exists. I'd think if so, there'd be a lot of people making some offers on it. I had a 2006 6.0, and I loved it. I did sell it before all of the problems started, though.
Thank you! I've seen these trucks with half a million miles on them. If we take care of them, they will take care of us. This truck was my uncles pride and joy. He had many new trucks but none like this one.
I’m sure you’re familiar - There’s a dealer called Gateway out of St. Louis area, that’s the type of truck they sell and I imagine it would probably bring over 40 K? I’m sure it will bring more than it was sticker price new, Beautiful truck, Tony, You come from a family with good taste in vehicles
Thank you very much! I reckon you can see where I get it from. This is the same uncle who had the 94 Town Car in some on me previous video that my aunt sold recently.
I bought one of those Lund MoonVisors brand new myself years ago. They were only in the low mid 300$ range back then. Since they’ve been discontinued in what 2010 they’re worth more used now than they were when they were new. That truck is definitely a time capsule. I think this truck would quickly and easily bring mid $20,000s atleast. Atleast.
Tony, We will stay tuned. 😁 BTW a channel called Auto Chronicles just posted a 1968 Ford dealer training film strip featuring the full line of full-sized models.
Great video Mr. Tony - That truck looks in great shape. I believe Dan noticed at the Motor Muster in one of the parking lots when we were coming into to Greenfield Village. At that time I do not think we knew it was yours and it does stand out. The Black looks so rich and it looks like it runs strong. Hard to believe it is 24 years old. Wow. Keep up the great work! Roseann and Dan
Thank you, guys! I'm sure you did see it in the parking lot. Yes, it sure does stand out. I have my Air b&b booked for Motor Muster 2024. See you there!
Hi Tony, I like to see this trucks even thou I am not a truck guy my self. But the video looks like a sails video but I know the black one are not for sale, the mistake are easy to make.👍👍
04:03 I believe the keypad entry wasn't available as a hard wired one till 2005, otherwise I would have got an 00 just like this one, instead I grabbed a 2005, of course the 7.3 is a far more robust engine vs my 6.0... of course I know you could hard wire a keypad in.... same for the redundant audio and climate controls on the steering wheel.
Nice truck. I’ve got a 2002 a lot like this one with 78,000 on it. Would you make a video on what a person should do to maintain a collector 7.3 power stroke that doesn’t get driven a lot? That would be awesome!
We haven't done much of anything to it. Simply keep it inside in bad weather and keep everything serviced. Thank you very much for watching and commenting. That sounds like a fine truck you have, too.
Been a while since I've been on the on Internet. I was putting a bunch of free time over the winter into my 71 Torino Cobra. Nice truck Tony! Any chance you are heading to PA for the food nationals?
Beautiful truck Tony ! Excellent video as always nice to see your uncle kept up with it so well all those years, usually these trucks by now have been worked to death and all rotted out although still quite a few around! I have an 06 6.0 same cab and bed as your uncles truck love it also and probably will never part ways with it either ! 130k miles on the odometer, i couldn't help but notice another 85 or 86 Ford truck under your shed in the back there Tony is that yours? maybe we'll see in an upcoming video !!! Hope your doing well also Tony! Stay healthy!
All of those trucks sitting around here are 86s. I was daily driving the brown one until the red 2012 fell in my lap. It's not much to talk about. I had a 2006 6.0 myself. It was a Lariat with sunroof, heated seats and all. I did really like it but some one offered me more than I thought it was worth and it paid my shed off. Thank you very much for watching and commenting. Much appreciated!
Understood ! Wow yes the lariats are sharp not to common with a sunroof in those years though ! Mine is only an xlt 4x4 but still in good shape for an 06, no problem at all Tony really enjoy watching all of your videos !
Yes I do believe you are correct I have the factory keyless entry on mine I also have the factory remote start the fob has 4 buttons on it I guess in those years Ford called it power code technology.
@@tonyscarcare5657 oh well lol she’s lucky to have such a legendary truck! If this truck ever was stolen and you found it I bet it would have no engine because of how legendary that engine is
@@tonyscarcare5657 wow people are not cool! Somebody broke into my car in Texas but it had nothing in it and it was tagged out so I guess they just walked away haha
Wow, that truck is showroom floor quality. I bought mine at 74k on it and it now has 136k over the last 12 years. Do you think it is possible to add the hardwired keyless entry keypad if the truck is already equipped with keyless entry. I see you do the OBS trucks but would love my 2001 to have it too.
Thank you! Yes, if you have factory installed remote keyless entry, you can add the keypad to it. The module is hard to get to. It's in the firewall above the transmission hump behind the dash. The code should be on it. It's very hard to see.
For some reason, I believe if you bought a brand new power stroke today, it probably would not be around 24 years from now like this one would, it would become too difficult to support it electronically and obsolete parts, perhaps I’m wrong? Thanks, Dave! I have a feeling you are 100% correct.

Yes, Sir! It is definitely part of the family now.
Beautiful 😃 ❤, Love FORD ❤ 😍!!!!

I remember this truck from your trip to Dearborn with the XL. She's a beauty, thanks for sharing.
You're welcome! Thank you for sticking with me, buddy!
Sweet truck, I recently inherited my mothers 2000 7.3l. 6spd Just over 200k and 24ys later she starts right up even on a cold new england night.

Yes, Sir! I was thinking that with the price of new trucks and the reputation of the 7.3, it would easily fetch $30k.
I wish I could buy it! If it were mine I wouldn't part ways with it either.
Yeah, it's part of the family for sure.

@@tonyscarcare5657 What additive do they put in the Diesel to keep it fresh between runs?
We use Howes diesel treat.

Collin and I really enjoyed the ride with you in great great uncle Leon's truck!!
Awesome! Thank you and Collin for watching!
Beautiful truck! It does remind the example I saw in a magazine review, back in 2003, except for the add-ons and it was an extended cab.
It's definitely a workhorse. Although it doesn't appear to have been worked very hard.
@@tonyscarcare5657 Yeah, it shows in the overall condition of the truck. It's awesome to see it preserved. 😊👍🏻
cool

The keypad showed up in late 2004.

Same warranty and less money. I have an account at the Ford dealership as well.
