I just got this figure a couple days ago and he is my top favorite Darth Vader figure in my Darth Vader collection. I also just ordered the Sideshow (updated) Return Of The Jedi Darth Vader as well. Can't wait to put them together side by side. I really do love the Hot Toys Rogue One Darth Vader. I hear the Hot Toys ANH Darth Vader from the Vader/Tarkin set is really badass too.

@@thejediknightswatch - The Rogue One Vaded definitely is getting harder and harder to find for sure. I wouldn't be surprised if his value or collectibility really doubles in the next year or two. I

Thanks, this video is one of the best Vader figure review. I bought the Rogue one version 2 years ago because of its shiny and clean surface. I think I'll soon find Stormtroopers to stand behind him.

I didn’t think I needed him but now I’m so glad I got him!
My only problem with the ESB version is they changed the overall shape of the dome which is inaccurate…the only difference should be the widows peak and placement, plus hot toys also changed the shape of the mask perhaps to accommodate the detaching feature which was a mistake.
However it does look great without the dome somehow ….
For whatever reason the 1/4, QS didn’t suffer the same issues and is just as accurate to the ROJ/ESB as the rogue one and ANH with the tarkin are to their respective movies. Great review!
I’m also a Vader fan and I try to get everything Vader - though I didn’t get the Kenner inspired anniversary version because o already got the ESB
If you love this, the QS might also be to your liking.
My favorite is the QS,
and a tie between the improved ANH version which comes with tarkin , and the RO versions
(RO helmet on ESB body is a great combo!)
Oh I’ve def eyed up that quarter scale Vader a few times lol. But I’m not sure I want to get into quarter scale right now. I was also looking at the sideshow premium format lord of the Sith Vader but have t found a deal I like yet.

got mine..but i got a big problem about the flaking issues on the suit. everytime i touch the suit, flakes of the leather starts to stick in my fingers and some shreds like dried paint. its not actually lesther but paint on a fabric which ruins the figure.

Where is the blinking light (LED) chestpiece Hot Toys version?
You have to I stall batteries in the figure for that.
Man, great review, I feel like I'm missing out. Like you this one has always been in the corner of my eye, and I thought I was content with the esb version but I might have to just go for this one.
Keep an eye out and you may be able to find a good deal!

Great vid, awesome figure! I'm still thinking of getting the Rogue One Vader, even though I do now have the DX28 Kenobi version which does look very similar, (but better obviously!)
In your opinion, would you say it's still worth getting the Rogue One version or does the Kenobi Vader now pretty much render it an unnecessary acquisition?

I think RO is still a great figure. If you want one battle damaged and one clean go for RO
@@thejediknightswatch Yup, that sounds fair, but if I was in the minority and actually wanted to display the DX28 with the clean, undamaged headsculpt, do you think I'd be right in saying the RO would be too similar to justify buying both?
@@TheRowlandstone73 they are going to be very similar. Upside with the new one is you have the option for BD, it’s a new figure, has usb capabilities and you get that badass base from the quarter scale!

Everything ypu say in the first 49 seconds of this video is so accurate to my thoughts, even down to the finding a deal that I just couldn't pass up!
Even though it'll be my 3rd Vader, I'm really glad I pulled the trigger and am already looking forward to receiving him! 👍

I got the ESB version instead because this one isn't accurate to the film. Red lenses are missing, and the robes are not over his armor. It would have broken my sense of immersion if I bought this Vader lol.
Lol. Haha they are all good figures. You can also easily put the robes under the armor, but I totally get that he isn’t for everyone.
@@thejediknightswatchEven so, the red lenses would still be missing. For me, that’s the whole part I was sold on for his design. This Vader is arguably better than ESB but it didn’t have what I expected. ESB at least comes with a diorama stand that immerses me into that scene. It’s just the way I view my collection. To put me in that moment when looking at them.
That’s the cool thing about the Vader figures, there are so many and everyone has their favorite. Can’t go wrong either way!

Funnily enough the rogue one hot toys Vader is not accurate to the Vader in the movie.
