I would fly to Richmond from the west coast just for the chance to play Commander with Dev. Dev has been one of my favorite MtG creators for years and seems so chill that I’d love to meet him and play some Magic.
Hope that the event in Richmond gets good attendance, magic events are so fun!
I'll tell you what's been helping me against Boros Convoke, is Selesnya Humans. I've been able to go wider and faster and completely lock them out of attacking. Mostly older cards but Sharp Eyed Rookie is a very welcome addition to it.

@@jackdecker7728 I'm still tweaking it right now, haven't landed on THE list. But a few key cards are Torens to go wide, Thalia to really slowly down mono red decks, Sharp Eyed Rookie to generate clue tokens to keep up card draw, Coppercoat for the half anthem for the Torens tokens, Sigarda for the anthem and card advantage, Katilda for ramp/growth, Intrepid Adversary for the growth and lifelink which is especially good against mono red. Luminarch for the life gain also against mono red.
The rest of the spots I'm kinda screwing with, there are a lot of good humans in standard right now.

Hey thanks for this! I'd already had a Jim Davis brew waiting to be wildcarded that was very close to the list you showed for Reenact the Crime, and this tournament version will actually cost me a few fewer wildcards! The deck felt like fire the moment I saw he had brewed it, so it's no surprise it's making waves already. Unfortunately though, I'm pretty sure this is one of the many reasons Farewell's stock should be going back up this Standard.
Reenact the Crime kind of has shades of Aetherworks Marvel. I was surprised you didn't mention Insidious Roots at all. Not sure about any finishes it's put up, and Sam Black's on camera performances at the NRG 5K certainly didn't help matters, but it is a wholly new deck with a powerful game plan.

I've been a huge fan of Boros Control ever since I played Spanish Inquisition in Standard in 2010.
Breech + Skaab has got to be one of the coolest ways to mill your opponent to death that I've seen in a long time. Thanks for these lists Dev, they're pretty dang cool!
I've been playing an Orzov deck with Sheoldred, Serra Paragon, Land Fetch cards and Breech the Multiverse. No new cards in it..but it's fun and effective. Destroy evil is a great removal card atm with all the love for enchantments in the meta right now.
Do you have any budget deck techs in the pipeline? I’d love to get back into standard paper magic, but I’m not looking to spend a lot. Really enjoyed when you used to do those. Love the content.

I made a reenact the crime deck and had one with the multiverse, breach, and atraxa all out on turn 4 bonkers
20 lands and some how i manage to top deck 6 lands in a row. Ninjas with leyline and shattered pact had no chance against that dimir coat today. Other than that, i really do like that coat deck!
I’m really liking mono-black Aggro right now, not because it’s good but because I hate building mana bases.

Boros convoke sucks, and i regularly stomp it with my boros Ojer version. I went from bronze to mythic and only lost 2 games. When the mirror match happens and you both have like 15 creatures dropping an Ojer turn 5 then casting demolition to do 20 dmg to the face cause of warleaders call is the most satisfying thing ever!

I've been crushing with a more mid-range version of the boros control Deck.
I thought players were under appreciating what was in this set. As sets go it has sneaky potential to surprise. Imo the value of it is only going to increase

Cryptic coat more like cryptic GOAT seriously what is this card lol. Won me 3/6 games in my bo3 FNM draft as the only blue card in the otherwise boros draft deck, not to mention the standard play it's seeing now.

As someone who skipped this set can someone smarter than me explain why disguise and cloak are good? It seems like just a more expensive way to play cards.
In limited, paying in installments can be really powerful and it makes combat difficult for opponents. In standard, it's less effective, but cryptic coat is a unique case bc you can repeat the effect, even if you lose the cloaked card by paying 2 to return to hand. But just having a 3/2 unblockable clock can get you there.

Not really. The only paper Magic I want to play is Commander or maybe prerelease.
A shame that "best new decks" are degenerate, awful things to experience on the other side and none of these decks make MtG a better game or standard a better format.
