For me, kumano faces kakazan was a 10 in standard. It did so much for agro decks and it turned off die triggers for the opponent once it flipped which was just about every time I played it.

In terms of 'Dev rating higher' I don't think it's the 1-10 system but the 'strong black and white set' factor. We know (and respect) the biases and this set definitely plays into them.

On season of gathering, the modes resolve top to bottom, so you can put the 2 counters on whichever creature has the most power in order to draw 2 additional cards.
Way down yonder, in the Chattahoochee.. Never knew how much that muddy water meant to me.

@StrictlyBetterMtg Starfall Invocation is super fun if you have 7 mana when you cast it and a Zoraline on board. You can sweep the board, get back Zoraline, and if you have BW still up, you can get a nonland permanent cmc 3 or less also. In proxy-testing I often use it to get Zoraline + another creature, and usually win the games where that second creature is a Deep-Cavern Bat.

I think storm splitter is super underrated. He triggers his abilities on cast before the spells on the stack resolve, which allows all his copies to benefit from anthem and board effects. I could see some sort of jeskai spells matter deck with him as a finisher.

I'm still not sure if Dev realizes what people were saying about Cruelclaw Heist. If they have no magic cards in their hand, it basically reads "steal the top card of their library if it's a nonland, but they can look at it first".

@@handfulloftrash Even without gift its a Thoughtseize in Standard. This format is slow enough that its acceptable for Thoughtseize to cost 2.
EDIT: Which exiles, which is a huge difference in favor of Cruelclaw's Heist.

ygra and camellia are interesting bc they create a combo with bartolome where bart and ygra become infinitely large. if you have elas il kor you also drain your opponent. probably bad but kinda cute and technically all playable in standard!
I don't want Eluge as a commander but he may be a value engine in an otter prowess deck and the otters riding the waves is just flavor gold to me.

Kitsa can be pretty good with Wizard's Lightning.
Azure beastbinder could be a decent side board card for pioneers dimir rogues. They struggle with artifact answers.
