Strangers don't owe you a "cordial conversation" or debate, even if they make youtube vids. You had expectations that you created by yourself that he did not consent to. That is your fault.
It seems very suspicious that you talked about the interaction and never cited or quoted the original posts verbatim yet expect people to take your side or your warning seriously and into consideration.
He had already blocked me and how should I have sited and quoted in a video? Also, the point of the video has nothing to do with taking my side or what exactly was said, it is that I won't be like that if you interact with me. I won't be fake, and I won't insult you just because you say something I disagree with.
Without any context I am gonna assume u said something pretty bad/ extreme. I'm not sure what u said but I can think of lots of things that dont deserve a cordial debate.
There was nothing bad or extreme about what I said. It was a disagreement about economics of all things. He just isn't the spread love and be kind guy he portrays. Even if you don't want to have a discussion, there are polite ways to not have them without resorting to insults.

Have you considered the possibility that maybe he's still a decent guy who was frustrated when someone wrote a direct public reply containing political opinions he disagreed with on one of his public threads. We all meet many decent people who experience frustration when a person attempts to publicly disagree with them on a thread they wrote. Additionally it can be part of a balanced healthy life to mute or block people who are publicly disagreeing when you are trying to maintain a healthy social media space. The most likely hypothesis is that you are both decent people & that Dev continues to be a true decent person & that you both have different perspectives on politics
He commented on another post and I replied to him. He could be decent sometimes, but I don't see how a person can be a decent person in general if their first reaction to someone they disagree with is to insult them. It just doesn't match the persona.

A person's decency is found from their entire lifetime & especially from how they treat loved ones & how people treat others in their life who depend on them each day. A few tweets & messages dont disprove a person's decency. On a related note people creating boundaries using Mute functions & Block functions help them focus on a decent path ahead when possible. There are many truly decent people i have met who can feel genuinely upset about political issues & when people get genuinely upset their reactions can put them in conflict with others unnecessarily. Functions like Muting & Blocking help them refocus on healthy & constructive paths. When two decent people have a disagreement, a common resolution is for them to part ways, but i dont think its constructive to try to make a public claim to have disproven someone else's decency. There's got to be a chance that you see the possibility that he could be a decent person. When two decent people have a disagreement, then a video like this hurts both decent people
@Ghost Beardz he could have just muted me and there would have been no issue, but he insulted me simply for disagreeing. Again, that is just not who he pretends to be in his videos. That is just not something a decent person would do, in my opinion.
I see the point you're trying to make here, but most people can't even talk politics with their own family. Dev is dealing with a lot of personal issues at the moment, and if you watched his videos you would know this as he explained that to his viewers. I'm not excusing what he said if you were insulted and/or berated but everybody has bad days.

If u have experience talking about politics u gotta accept that not everyone digests opinions the same as you and if u wanna talk politics with people u should be more interested in what their outlook is rather than just voicing your view cause thats when u dont have experience and arnt careful cause u dont know how u are gonna come across as. Even more if its in the internet and not across a table. Either way good stuff that u have opinions on politics most common people dont bother having those for well debatable reasons or none whatsoever.
I'm definitely interested in hearing other people's opinions. I am willing to start a conversation often times in order to hear the other person's opinion, because without an explanation, it is is hard to see how a person can believe some of the things they believe. In this situation, I was making a counterpoint, but I don't think that replying with insults was the appropriate response, especially for someone who tries to come across as a kind person.
As a former lefty myself, I can tell you one thing I learned. They take everything personally. Seems best to just brush em off and keep moving. sometimes, it's just not worth getting into.

He is definitely not the character he portrays on his CZcams and he’s replied with “alternate” accounts when I try to get him to elaborate or just point out where he’s not accurate. His mtg content plateaud years ago and yeah he had a heart attack and I wouldn’t wish that on anybody but he’s also not making efforts to better himself or improve his CZcams content. I’m sorry you’ve had to deal with him lashing out but, like a lot of his CZcams commenters, Dev is extremely insecure in combination with being thick-headed and thin skinned.
