- When Upwork came out with their new available now feature, I called it a big fat cash grab scam and said I'd never turn it on. Well, I stuck to my guns on that one. This video is about what happened as a result. I literally changed something in my profile and I was showing up on the first search page of my search term
I have one more question:
what do you think either it is good practice to hide project catalog from profile or not? But still keep opening on Upwork search engine. (Only hide from profile).
Advantage:
1. It will give me advantage for negotiation when clients come based on talent search. As GIG is hidden from profile so they cannot purchase it when they have large efforts project but comparatively less price.
2. It already opens on search engine so clients can purchase it who are fond of buying from catalog.
Reason:
1. Some types of works are hand to estimate earlier without knowing details of client’s goal. So sometimes pre catalog price may go lower in terms of client’s needs. So I would like to open negotiation door.

hmm, my opinion is that it is better to not negotiate. If you talk with the client and they really want your services, then they should pay X price for those services. There is no negotiation. That said, I have two projects open on my profile right now. They set the frame for how much I might charge for those exact services. So if you set a good rate for your projects, it might actually help you land bigger clients from the start.

I am a freelancer on Upwork for the past 1 year I have 2k+ USD so far I have top rated budget and 94 JSS But I don't even receive a single invite its been 4-5 months since I last received an invite to all the jobs I close are cause of hardworking proposals I buy so many points then hardly close 1 sale! because I don't get invites even with a badge and 94 JSS Please help

I have a question.
I am top rated freelancer on upwork and before 2 weeks i was getting around 30+ invitation. But Suddenly everything went out. Now i am hardly getting 2-3 invitation in a week. I didn't change anything in my profile or anything like that..
Although, i am getting around 20+ views on my profile everyday but no invitation.
Please help.

Hard to say. Most likely reason is Upwork seasonal fluctuation. Less clients hiring. More on holiday right now (at least in the US). Other likely reason is Upwork changed something in their algorithm and it bumped you down in the search results.

I've been hiring a few freelancers recently, Lex. No, those with the availability badge do NOT appear higher up on the lists. I actually have to wade through a lot of freelancers to find the ones with the badge or even worth inviting to my job(s). Usually, the freelancers at the very top are Jacks-of-all-trades (hence the wading), so mostly keyword-stuffers with little to no experience in the multiple tasks they claim they can do. I have no idea why they're even there, in my face, constantly.
Thanks for sharing your experience, Angie! I never thought about people stuffing keywords in proposals before. Doesn't seem like a good approach to attract clients even if it gets you to the top of proposal results! :'P I don't know why freelancers think getting to the top is the most important factor anyway. Obviously, you choose who you think will be the best fit for the job.
@@lexdevillefreelancing I'm referring to how they appear when you've posted a job and select "Invite Freelancers", not when they have already applied. It's always the same people at the top, even if I change the word I'm searching for (i.e "editor" as opposed to "copywriter"), almost as if they want to push certain people to the top regardless of whether they are a good fit or not...

Hey Lex, previously for every invitation to interview that I responded I used to get 10 free connects, now that has stopped since the availability badge feature started. Is it happening to others as well?
The invitation connects are weird. I was getting them a lot, and then something changed and that slowed way down. Now they come at random intervals. I never know if I'm going to get connects or not lol.
Hello Lex, Happy Thursday Sir. I have a strange request for You Please. I started writing on Upwork back in 2016 and had "some" success but fell off after a while. I'm currently in a better situation where I can better take advantage of this opportunity.
