Maple. The j180 is essentially the j185 except I'm pretty sure just w the pickguards? I'll have to look that up!

@@TheNeuroticGuitarist Wow, that is a really good question. First thing that comes to mind is proper humidity control for your guitar space. As a part-time repair Tech, this time of year I am seeing lots of guitars suffering from low humidity damage. Myself, I carry water downstairs to my humidifier in the Winter, in the Summer I carry water upstairs from my dehumidifier! It is a very real issue that (IMO) should not be ignored.
I would imagine with all of your guitars out on display that you have a robust climate control setup, YES?
I mean, I have tried to hammer home to everyone the importance of proper humidification, and now I find my Son's Martin 12-String is now BER due to damage from low humidity.
Just a thought, I'll keep my thinking cap on and shoot you more content ideas while you are vacationing.
BTW, have a safe and fantastic vacation, and don't do anything I wouldn't do..............😉
Ok, that guitar sounds great!! Even if the poor thing is painted opaque black! I am working on appreciating solid color guitars... but it is hard!!
@@danielbreaux1842 I'm with you on that, one of the aspects of a guitar's beauty is the wood, I love to see wood grain and figuring, to cover that up seems difficult for me to understand.
I've always loved the Everly Brothers Gibson, the star inlays and the mustache pickguard, too cool!! Plus the jumbo body booms!!!!
But how does it compare to the Goya??? 🤘😜🤘

Totally valid points! I also shut my ears when I hear TS, but the fact remains that everyone has heard her songs and it’s undeniable that she has a following deserving of awards and accolades. Doesn’t matter what you and I think about her music and personal life. But she does play a great guitar and that guitar will eventually land in the hands of young gals if they can afford one. And that’s probably the one issue with that - even the reissues are well out of reach of young girls. However, if they made an Epiphone version, they’d be the best selling instrument of all time in a hot minute because every Swiftie would want one (including those who have zero interest in playing guitar lol) and it might be attainable for those kids to save all their babysitting money to get one.
Btw, that demo was lit! You played that thing beautifully!
One last thing: I thought people have said that the 60’s Everly Bros guitar often is plagued by resonance issues because of the double pick guard. I always wonder if it’s a widespread issue because they wouldn’t have sold as well as they did if they didn’t resonate nicely. Maybe it’s just a handful that had that problem? I can see where a thick double pick guard would muffle the sound, but I have yet to see anyone with an example that’s bad. Well, the reissue you were sent (thanks Sam Ash!) really sounds gorgeous!
I actually said that but I edited it out. I actually like TS better because she doesn't have those dumb things and the top can live more. This guitar sounds great when I put a u47 and some verb on it and then beat the crap outta it, but it doesn't sound like it's opened up yet. The tone is there. I 100% think it would sound better without both guards.
This guitar has a mustache lol. My favorite acoustic ive ever played was a family members gibson I have NO idea the year or the model but i'm pretty sure the entire guitar was made out of mahogany with clear lacquer and that guitar just had so much soul. I was 16 and my house was being hit by hurricane Ivan and we evacuated to a family members house in Phoenix Alabama and he let me play his gibson acoustic and a 12 string all weekend. I had no idea what was going to happen to my house that weekend and i just played my soul out all weekend until the hurricane passed. Thankfully the house was okay but almost every tree fell down in the yard and miraculously missed the house. I'll never forget that Gibson acoustic guitar. Wish i knew what the hell it was.

I emailed them asking for this specifically 😂😂been wanting a j-180 since I was 12 due to green day and then saw Taylor playing it more and more and emailed epiphone that the resell was vrazy on these guitars and that they’re very popular due to the eras Tour and they should do the colours she uses (blue pink and black) yall can thank ME

The only reason I know Travis Kelsey's name is because my wife, who hates football, was watching the Super Bowl because Taylor Swift was there. My 10 year old 'niece', our friends' first kid LOVES Taylor Swift. When the 2 kids are here there's nothing but Taylor Swift playing. I've been waiting for Gibson or any guitar brand to talk Taylor about a signature guitar. That should have happened 6 years ago.
I don't even know if she's getting one to be honest. One commentor said they heard she was getting a pink epiphone but I have no info on the subject. They'd certainly sell a ton of them!

@@No1karez Yeah, your selection of guitars will cover almost every type of music you could ever hope to play. 👍
Myself, I've a couple Les Pauls and Strats, a Tele and an Esquire, those guitars allow me to play every kind of music that interests me.
The Esquire is one of my favorites, the Tele style bridge makes it easier for me to finger/hybrid pick and the Broadcaster style bridge pickup sounds like an angry P90 when played through my Marshall.
If they made a single guitar that could "do it all", I wouldn't want it, I rather enjoy my small collection of instruments, each one puts me in a different mood as to what I want to play.
