  • The PRS SE NF3 is a distinct guitar in the PRS lineup. The heart of this guitar is a trio of PRS Narrowfield pickups, a first for the SE Series.
    Available at mattsguitars.com/
    Supporting these pickups is a poplar body, 22-fret bolt-on maple neck, and the choice of either a rosewood or maple fretboard. The SE NF3 is a versatile workhorse guitar that is fun to play and hard to put down. The Narrowfield DD (Deep Dish) “S” pickups are made with taller bobbins to fit more winds and extra metal pieces in between the magnets for a more focused, powerful tone. Anchored with PRS’s patented tremolo, this guitar can bend and flutter with ease.
    Perfect for rock, blues, gospel, country, or jazz the PRS SE NF3 can punch, cry, lay down, or sing - as you like it.

    For the last 5-ish years, PRS have been killing it with their Pickups.
    It seems like Paul really understood something when he started making the 594 pickups, and then the SilverSky pickups, and now those NF3s…

      That's what the other reviews have been missing so far.

    This guitar has great features for the price. You can see PRS has stepped it up, yet again. $50 less than the Silversky, with better everything. The Gunmetal Grey with a rosewood fretboard is outstanding.

    I'm always surprised to see how well those pickups handle high gain. So sick!

    Are the pick ups ceramic or alnicos

    • @tonekilltech
      @tonekilltech Před 6 dny

      The NF pickups use individual alnico magnet pole pieces and also have metal spacers between the pole pieces. On Trogly's review, he removes the base plate and you can see that there isn't a bar magnet under the pole pieces as would be the case in a humbucker, P90, or single coil pickup with a ceramic bar magnet.

      I passed on the Fender. Don't want string trees or weak kneed single coils.
