  • Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members Phil and Don Everly, performing together as The Everly Brothers, were among the most popular artists in the world during the early rock era of the 1950s and early 1960s. Their seamless, soaring harmonies were supported by their driving rhythm parts played on matching Gibson acoustic guitars. Gibson is proud to celebrate their rich musical legacy with the return of the Everly Brothers J-180 to the core Custom Shop Artist model lineup. Featuring a maple body and Sitka spruce top, the Everly Brothers J-180 is replete with all of the decorative details that make the Gibson Everly Brothers models instantly recognizable, including an Ebony gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish, double tortoise moustache pickguards designed in cooperation with the Everly Brothers, and mother of pearl star inlays on the headstock and neck. The Everly Brothers J-180 also features a bone nut, TUSQ® bridge pins and saddle, and Grover® Rotomatic® tuners with Keystone buttons. It comes with an L.R. Baggs™ VTC under-saddle pickup and preamp, making it stage and studio-ready the moment you take it out of the included hardshell case.

Jangly/Sparkly are both good terms, I’d like to see more small jumbos, this and the J-185, and especially a comeback of the SJ-200 Parlor

I bought my J180 because of Cat Stevens, I loved the sound he got from his.
Worst thing I did was selling it, miss it every day. If you get one, keep it!

Like most old guys, I first picked up a guitar because of the Beatles. But, I KEPT playing it, because I wanted to play Cat Stevens and Paul Simon songs…. I still play Wind of My Soul, and How Can I Tell You, in my shows.

I was gonna say that people need only Google "Father and Son" to get the idea of what a guitar has been. People saying he plays a J-200 now, but I don't remember seeing him play anything but a J-185 since he made his comeback.

OHHH!! I've been wanting an Everly Brothers model since the first time I saw them with them in the 50's. They've always been hard to find and too expensive. I hope Epiphone will make one too.

The sons of well known country guitarist, Ike Everly, like taught them to play and harmonize. Among the first r&r idols in the 50’s , the also wrote some of their tunes although the Bryant’s wrote the big ones. Their influence is omnipresent, while not the first harmony group they may have been the first r&r duet and taught the world to sing harmony.

Yes, in more recent years. Also with Walnut B and Ss. This model , J180 Everly, no as far as I can find. I have catalogs from the 1960 s and they show only Maple B and S. Gibson, though, back then, was famous for limited runs of some models in different woods or configurations.
