I re-watched The Last Dance yesterday and the topic of this video was the same topic in the episode I was watching yesterday. And its crazy to think that Jordan's gambling might be connected to something.

It wouldn't be. But associating with criminals and staying up to 5 am the night before a game... annnnnnnd potentially betting on your own games that you're playing.... yikes. That would be a problem. Also, this was the 90's. We didn't have the information nor tolerance toward addictions that we have now. Moral codes were also different. Also the Black Sox scandal in baseball, and the Pete Rose scandals in baseball... well, they made people weary about ahtletes gambling. And people who had been through the Depression and fought in World War II were younger than what Baby Boomers are today. It was a different era in the USA, dude. But it was still more similar to 2021 than dissimilar.

It's been cleared up by The Last Dance. Michael didn't violate league rules or the law. He violated people's expectations. He retired and David Stern (God rest his soul) said he never suspended him. He retired before of exhaustion and because he wanted to fulfill a promise he made to his dad; just give baseball a try.
Last Dance is nothing more than MJ propaganda.

I tend to believe Jordan had a gambling obsession or problem. I don't think it necessarily negatively effected his money.

Now that I think about it, I'm calling bullshit on the "gambling suspension" conspiracy theory. If he actually was suspended, Bud Selig (who was Commissioner of Baseball was at the time) would have placed him on the permanently ineligible list before he even reported for Spring Training for the White Sox organization. Keep in mind that Jordan's first retirement came just 4 years after Pete Rose got banned. Pete Rose is one of the greatest baseball players of all time, and still holds the Major League record for hits, and if HE could get banned for life, then Jordan wasn't safe from the wrath of Selig either. Additionally, then-Yankees owner George Steinbrenner was banned (later reinstated) for paying a gambler to dig up dirt on Dave Winfield. Gambling is considered Baseball's Cardinal Sin
I believe this, but rose was suspended for betting on the games he played. Jordan was just a crackhead for gambling. Wasn't said for games.
@@Kr4v3rd it should also be pointed out that Willie Mays and Mickey Mantle got banned from baseball for *taking jobs as greeters at casinos in Atlantic City,* despite the fact that they were both long retired, already in the Hall of Fame, and were not employed within baseball in any capacity, and despite the fact that said Casinos did not offer sports betting (which was illegal in New Jersey at the time).

Can we see a "What if Scottie Pippen was never traded to the Bulls"? People forget it was the then Seattle Supersonics who drafted Pippen 5th in 1987 and then traded him to the Chicago Bulls for their 8th overall pick in Olden Polynice before Pippen's rookie season
I think that if Pippen was never traded to the bulls Krause would have put other talent around Mike, another great PF that would have allowed the same success. Just the way he brought in Rodman, Jordan was the key element, while the rest were key as well but interchangeable. When Krause wasn't busy stabbing coaches in the back and underpaying the intricate players like Pippen he was actually quite adept at bringing in missing pieces 🧩🧩of the puzzle around MJ..

Did you not see The last Dance? He clearly stated his reasons for retiring. Had nothing to do with his gambling, but rather the media and burden of dealing with his life.
The documentary also exposes other alternate perspectives and potential theories as well. Like MJ's dad may had been murdered by a Mafia who had indirect connection to MJ.
