Excellent video as always but I must say something... You said that Jose Ortiz was "bad at basketball" and that is way far from the truth. There is no doubt that he was bad and a bust in the NBA but nevertheless he had a great basketball career outside the NBA. He played many years in Europe (including the very tough Spain league). He also played in other international leagues. But where he showed his true talent was playing for the Puerto Rico's national team in the FIBA tournaments. He played in multiple Olympic Games, World Championships among other international tournaments. You can look up his performance in the Atlanta Olympic Games in 1996 where he was one of the best players of the tournament. I know that the NBA is the best league of the world and that this channel is dedicated exclusively to the NBA... but I think is not fair to label a player as "bad" just because he didn't succeed in the NBA. There are high level basketball players and leagues besides the NBA.

Marvin Williams was never "Deemed not good enough to start for his own college team." He came off the bench because that was a different time in college basketball. A better time. Before the one and done era. Back when they would start deserving seniors and juniors who had battled through hard times and earned their spots. Marvin was certainly good enough to start. But what, were they gonna bench Felton, McCants, Jackie Manuel (Defense leader) Jawad Williams or Sean May after 3 years of starting together and developing awesome chemistry? No way. That's why they won the championship that year. He was rookie of the year and sixth man of the year. Such an X-Factor. Especially that home game against Duke :-) But yeah, he was a bust in the NBA.
For Atlanta, I might've gone with Sheldon Williams. I know drafting Marvin Williams over Paul was a colossal mistake, but at least he could play. 8 teams in 6 NBA Seasons and never averaged above 6 PPG in a season

Personally I think Kwame was the victim of two things that were not entirely his doing:
1) A tremendous amount of hype combined with the fact that a lot of big men at that time were deciding to skip college and go right to the pros (which to be honest didn't really work out as planned for a lot of them). Had Kwame followed through with his original plan to go the university of Florida and play for Billy Donovan (as good a coach at developing big men as there is), then stayed for two years he would have entered in the loaded 2003 draft and would have been in much better position mentally, physically and skill wise.
2) Jordan was a flipping psychopath to Kwame and I think he just shut down and stopped caring. Michael thought Kwame opening up to him and trying to talk about his background was a sign of weakness and tried to break the kid (and he was a kid) and it killed any desire of his to play the game.
I don't know what kind of player Kwame could have been had things been different, but given how he played in high school I think he could have developed and been a solid big man if nothing else, and maybe a low level all star at best (2-3 all star team births). That would have been leaps and bounds ahead of what he did.

As a Jazz Fan I have to disagree. Utah (or in 1979 still New Orleans) had the chance to pick Magic Johnson but traded the #1 Pick to the Lakers for old-ass-washed-up Gail Goodrich. To make things worse, they traded their #3 Pick in 1982 Dominique Wilkins for a couple of Players nobody remembers, a can of Pepsi and a pack of cigarettes....smfh

Far worse was Barry Kramer (6th overall), Dave Lattin (10th overall), Bob Portman (7th overall), Kevin Joyce (11th) and... THIS is the worst... Chris Washburn (3rd). There was zero value in any of those picks.
Their worst draft pick ever was Joe Barry Carroll, because of what it cost them. But he wasn't a proper "bust" either.

A good question could be, is Vince Carter a Hall of Famer? I have debated back-and-forth with different people and while something he does deserve the nod, others disagree, it would be nice to see what your opinion is backed by research, facts, and personal experience.
Jacob Savarese well considering that it is the basketball Hall of Fame all of his achievements garnered throughout his career will be considered. He also single-handedly saved a franchise and made it one of the more profitable ones in the league at that.

I totally disagree with your Atlanta Hawks pick, and here's why:
In 1985, the Hawks drafted 7 footer John Koncak (I know, who???) with the 5th overall pick. He was drafted before players like Karl Malone, Detlef Schrempf, and Joe Dumars. In 1989, he signed a $13.1 million dollar contract (more than MJ, Bird, and Magic at the time). He was only averaging 6.2 PPG and 6.1 RPG and was coming off the bench in 1989, so signing for that kind of money is ridiculous.
2005 was an insanely weak draft year, probably one of the worst in history. Out of 60 picks, only 4 players made at least one All-Star team and one All-NBA team (Deron Williams, CP3, Andrew Bynum, and randomly David Lee). Marvin Williams has never been anywhere near special in his career but he has adapted to his role on each team very well. The Hawks knew his liabilities when they drafted him and thought they could craft him into a better shooter, but that was not his play style. He was and still is a physical defender who plays the 4 at only 6'7 very well.
How does that even come close to them letting Boston buy the rights to draft Bill Russell?
Atlanta regretted THAT choice for 12 of the next 13 seasons - and the REST of the NBA except the 76ers (also at 12) regretted it for ALL of the next 13.
The Hawks picked Willie Naulls on their next pick - good player, ended up with 3 rings after he got traded to ... BOSTON ... but compared to Russell he was a SERIOUS bust.
Just to make things worse - Boston got Tom Heinsohm in a "territorial" pick (nothing anyone could do about THAT though), then landed KC Jones in a later round....
