Since Phil basically sold SourceFed, I'm assuming he's not allowed to talk about anyone leaving in detail. He really has very little input in SourceFed now
he sold SF? When and to who?
He sold the channels to Revision3, but he was made a Senior Vice President within Discovery Digital Networks (parent company of Revision3) and his channels were formed into a DDN subsidiary called Defranco Network, including Sourcefed. Which he was made the head of.
So he is very much incharge as the most senior person on the ground. The choice to let Sourcefed have their own creative control is a management choice, not a lack of control.
Hedonophobia Thanks, thats largely what Google told me to... I am guessing because he's SVP that he still takes a cut of profits from them and has creative control... Kind of like RT who sold a while back.

It's the second wave, first joe, lee, and ross left all around the same time, now reina, maude, (and who knows maybe more to come) are headed out.
I mean Phil has mentioned that he wants SourceFed to be a sort of springboard for the hosts who want to move on to bigger things, and its been successful in that. Look at past hosts. Elliot has his own standup special, he and lee host the preshow for Lip Sync battle. Trisha and Joe went on to their own shows on Awe Me, and I think Joe has some new gig in the works. Maude has her secret project. From time to time, Sourcefed will have its "exoduses", but the new hosts will come and we'll love em just the same.

SourceFed has lost two of their greater presenters in the past week. The channel has been diminishing rapidly. Can only hope Sam gets out alive lol.

I feel really bad for Sam. He's now the only host on SF and SFN that I actually like. He only has shit around him (and Will)
i mean theres not an awful lot of on camera people left besides those two. theres steve whom is barely on the channel, though when he is on he is okay, will is great in my opinion and is far better than the vast majority of present and past hosts, bree is meh, but i can deal, sam is around and he is just a fun person, though he is a sfn person instead of a regular sourcefed person and that's about it for the main guys, theres people off camera whom don't get enough love but as far as the cast go, there just isnt many of them to begin with
Reina, Maude, Steve, Will, Sam, Lieb etc. y'all should just make a separate channel and run that, nobody cares about SourceFed anymore if the people we love leaves one by one. That channel is good as dead

Not to hold it against you Reina, but honestly, PDS as the exception, SF and SFN have pretty much derailed these past couple of years. It's just not interesting to me anymore. Cast doesn't seem as engaged as it once was. You were one of my favorite new faces, but idk, the spark that those channels had a while back just isn't there anymore. And with Phil not being affiliated with the channel anymore and it becoming a property of Discovery it felt even more distanced. I pretty much ended up unsubbing from both even though I had been following since day 0.
In any case, I wish you the best, you're so talented and joyful and I'm sure you're gonna find so many awesome things out there.
that happens. that's why the host leave. after a while some get tired of it because it gets stale. they want to try different things. meg, steve, maude, reina all wanted more so they left to pursue it

From all the "can't talk about it" stuff, it just seems some legal reason got in the way of them doing SPF and they had to shut it down.

as far as gaming channels were concerned I think they weren't hitting the viewership marks that Discovery wanted.

Steve only works part-time at SF now, so he's on camera less. I think he's still going full-time on the Nuclear Family channel though.
Well clearly something is going on again. Both Steves slowly disappeared, you left, and now Maude is leaving as well. Last time this happened was when Sourcefed was changing the first time.

Well, Suckdick was only for SPF and that got cancelled, Senpai was mostly on that as well and I guess the spot on SFN and SF got filled in at that time. Also Maude got a job offer and went for that ( I do not think she would lie about it) and Reina is also leaving on her own accord so I do not think there is anything "going on". Phil has stated before that SF and SFN is a stepping stone for them and that he wants them all to go for greater things later on. That is normal.
Steve said he's only part time on SF Cuz he rather do nuclear family.
He also has other jobs now.

Reina was the best thing about SFN. SFN was the best when reina and will started anime club. Reina made the whole channel and all the other hosts better. when reina went to spf it all but killed it. the only thing holding nerd from the brink was maude and she is gone too. hope to see more from reina 😄

Not really, they change hosts every couple years because people move on to greater things. sourefed is just a really good starting point for people.

I loved the old Sourcefednerd anime show that you did. Haven't kept up with the channel much, but I considered you to be the only reason to remained subbed there. I love your energy. Whoa. Why is everyone freakin leaving SF? Is it the management? Joe, Lee, Eliot, Trisha, Meg, Maude, and Reina. I'm sure they wanted to do different things, but I want to think there's also a different, managerial reason for everyone leaving. I doubt any of them would publish a video bashing the channel; it's unprofessional. You don't do that in normal-type professional jobs, and the same with CZcams.
Steve is hanging in there. Meg, I like her. Matt is kool and knowledgeable. And there was this kool blonde, Australian I think, that was on a few episodes but I guess never was hired full time. I forget her name. She was really pretty and down-to-earth. Ughhhh change can be a mother fucker.
Unfortunately, Meg left a while ago, and the Australian girl (her name is Maude) just left! Steve is also now part-time (as you mentioned).
CZcams channels aren't 'normal-type' jobs. Especially if you're working for a pay cheque on someone elses channel. People moving on to other things, or their own channels, especially after a career launch pad like Sourcefed isn't at all surprising.

Sara actually wasn't Australian, don't know why I remembered her with an accent, she was a guest like 3 times and not a host, and she's an actress and not on CZcams anyway hahah. I just remember she was super pretty and was kool as a guest; she stuck out in my mind. That was all like 2 or 3 years ago too.

My sentence differentiated (1)normal-type professions (like engineers, lawyers, etc. where employers contact your previous manager(s) for references) and (2)CZcams jobs....... And pointing out their similarities in that it would be bad to leave one of those jobs on bad terms or bad mouthing it...... because your new employer will take that into account before hiring you. Un-professional jobs like working as a cashier or waiting tables or retail probably don't investigate your previous employment as stringently (key words are "as stringently"), therefore making it safer to speak badly or openly about that position/managers. That's why I said I wouldn't expect you tubers to tell the whole truth and talk bad about the channel they're leaving. I thought Reina was being cryptic and general.

Think you're reading too much into it. Source fed has been a platform to develop themselves as Internet personalities and entertainers. Comes a time for a lot of people to just change up what they are doing or just wanting more, or to do something different.

They (most likely) will still be doing whatever the SPF thing is to be.
I believe they were in a legal battle/discussions for the rights to the SPF name/channel, as they want to continue the channel outside of the Discovery network.
Sorry to hear that you left Sourcefed and Sourcefed Nerd, but I can't wait to see what is coming up for you and I am excited for your future in the entertainment industry!
Please don't feel sorry for not telling us earlier that you left Sourcefed because they were probably company requirements or something that wouldn't allow you to say anything so we will all understand! Best of luck going forward 😄
