      The majority of people can't afford them. They think just because they can make a $700 truck payment they can afford it. They dont realize the difference between afford and debt. @@therealad4342 its pretty easy to get wrapped up in debt. I remember when I bought my first house, had no debt and within 2 yrs had a home depot card at 6k and other credit cards. I just got to the point and said, this isn't the way to live paid that crap off and haven't looked back. Over 20 yrs now, and it might take me a little longer to get the car i want or cash flow a home improvement project . but it's all cash deals now. What is more troublesome, is the younger kids seem to be getting groomed at a early age to think that getting into debt is status quo.

    Half these things are options available on the XLT. You can equip them almost identical. The things you lose on the XLT is the 4A transfer case but the XLT tc actually locks up. The gauge cluster. Lariat has better headlights available, leather, and power folding mirrors. Basically everything else can be had on the XLT. If leather, power folding mirrors, and the 4A TOD transfer case are worth 10k to you then so be it.

    On the XLT Powerboost. It makes no sense to me that the tailgate doesn’t come with the measurement, bed lights, etc. If it has the power generator then you should have all the tools for it to be a workman’s truck. I like the idea of having all that electrical power available but for me the amenities of the Lariat outweigh the XLT. That being said the XLT’s now have a lot of features that my ‘15 XLT with the 302A doesn’t have so they are getting fancy for a working truck.

    I've owned 2 XLT trim level trucks, one XLT Premium trim level truck and one Lariat trim level truck (I currently own) although these are all Super Duty pickup trucks. Either way, F-150 1/2 ton or Super Duty 3/4 ton and 1 ton (I currently own), once I bought a Lariat, I wasn't going back to the XLT or below. That's not to say there is anything wrong with the XLT trim level trucks because, there isn't. In fact, these trim level trucks now sport many options that just a few years ago, you would have HAD to go up to the Lariat to get. They've (the XLT trim level trucks) have come a long way from my first Ford pickup, a 2010 F-250 XLT Super Duty, which, by the way, was $38k back then when I bought it new. The PRICES have come a LONG way too. However, that said, the point that I'm trying to make is that once I have owned a Lariat, I won't go back down to a lower trim level. Again, nothing wrong with the lower trim level Ford pickup trucks. These days even the base XL trim level has more options and creature comforts than my (first) 2010 F-250 XLT had. But for me, it's the Lariat. (Preferably, the HIGH PACKAGE/ULTIMATE PACKAGE Lariat).

    I wish you could get color matched bumpers, leather, that dual exhaust integrated with the bumper, LEDs, on a regular cab short bed. Why do they leave the sportiest truck in the lineup out and give it that ugly 1740s little radio screen? Like, I'm pretty sure that's what George Washington's dash looked like in the regular cabs. I don't care about a console. I actually prefer the bench seat, but I know some people want a console in one too. A 5.0, 4x4 RCSB is 50k and looks like a $15,000 truck the way Ford let's you option it. I don't know why I'm optimistic, but I am that Ford will make the regular cabs better with the 24MY refresh. 🤞🏻

    I’ve test driven the XLT and the Lariat. The XLT falls short in every category imaginable. It’s got the worsened engine and transmission and the cloth interior smells weird for some reason. The material is very hard and rough and doesn’t offer a lot of support especially if you’re commuting to work every day.
    The Lariat has the better engine and transmission, V6 twin turbo, blind spot monitor, lane departure, sunroof, leather interior, better handling and acceleration etc…

    • @jimsteinway695
      @jimsteinway695 Před rokem +8

      I think the transmissions are identical 10 speed. The engine selection is not trim dependent. It’s up to the customer on what engine you get, no matter what trim. The only difference is interior appointments and tech options and the 4x4 package you choose. But you can get a XL with the 3.5 motor 10 speed tranny and get the Lariat with the 2.7. Motor trannies are completely independent of the trim you choose. So that’s not a reason to pick the XLT or the Lariat
      I’m guessing you’ve never test driven either . Also many dealers will throw in leather seats in the XLT making it identical to the lariat as fas as seats

F150's engine are like hit or miss these days. the v8 in Normal mode feels jumpy due to cylinder deact. the base mirror is too small for a round 3-inch blind spot mirror. seems to me ford ditched the old parts suppliers.

      @northlander4370 you have no idea what I will have. I have been a loyal ford owner since I first started driving and up till I bought my 05 F-150 no ford has ever left me walking. Noticed I said till the 05 150.

    Must be nuts… no brains…no headaches…to buy a “truck” loaded with finicky electronic gadgets. Ford is banking on big repair/maintenance bills.

      I wish they'd offer the STX package on the regular cabs, it's the sportiest model and you can't option it on one. Doesn't make any sense to me
