    Doug
    It was really nice visiting with you today. You made me feel like I was your close friend for 40 years. Like I said. It was your videos that made up my mind to buy a Massey Ferguson 4707. I have had mine for well over a year and I could not be happier. We have cattle and horses and our pastures are on the top and side of tall ridges. The low center of gravity and weight of the 4707 is ideal. I have no problem pulling a eight foot brush hog up, down, and sideways on those slopes. GREAT ENGINE! Thanks again for your time and videos.

    Your videos have been very helpful when we were in the market for machinery upgrade at our property. Last year We've got the MF1747 as greenhouse workhorse due to its compact size, it replaced our "antique" MF35 which still runs fine, but it's time for retirement. This year we're looking to upgrade from MF365 to a MF4609 as our main sprayer/orchard/transport tractor, and hopefully next year as we expand our business 6615 would round up our machinery needs.
    Keep up the good work, In my opinion MF offers the most for your money, and they've been reliable workhorses at our property for years.

    All the comments I've seen on the 4707 performance pulling a 15 ft flex wing are good. If I can bypass the def and still mow with a 15 footer, I may get the 4707. Great Teaching instruction!!!

    • @VahrenbergImplement
      @VahrenbergImplement  Před 3 lety

      Depends on the PTO HP requirements of the15' Flex Wing Cutter and what you are cutting the 4707 does not require DEF and non of the 4700 Series use Diesel Particulate Filter. With Massey Ferguson DEF System on 4708, 4709 and 4710 I would not worry about it. Actually improves fuel economy and is variable rate system. Especially if you get enough HP and use Economy PTO really reduces Fuel & DEF use.

    • @VahrenbergImplement
      @VahrenbergImplement  Před 4 lety

      You have to activate (Wake-Up) Controls by moving forward and back inside the cab/plaform before you can control them or using the external buttons you must do a up/down or down/up sequence prior to direction you want to change to activate external controls. This tells the tractor it is safe to make changes and no one is in the way and safe to operate the 3 Point.

    • @VahrenbergImplement
      @VahrenbergImplement  Před 3 lety

      We pretty much order every 4700 Series with Weights as if helps with lifting heavy loads and balancing the tractor. Only time I would not recommend if tractor weight is compacting the soil but 99.9% of the tractors we sell are ordered with 3 sets of the factory weights. So much cheaper getting factory installed.

    Nice machine. Question on leg room. Heel against base of seat, what size shoes do you have? I am 6’1 shoe size 17. On a Kubota m6-141 hp my toes are an inch UNDER the edges of the pedals! On a LS 6168 i have 6 inches between toes and pedals! Strange seeing a smaller cab having more leg room than a much bigger unit🤪. Safety issue for stopping if i had to twist my leg side ways to slide feet sideways to get out from under pedals to lift leg to apply...well any of the Kubota pedals😂👍

    • @VahrenbergImplement
      @VahrenbergImplement  Před 4 lety +1

      4700 Series is 16" from rubber bellows of the seat to front edge of pedal. 14" from Metal Base to the front edge of pedal, 13" from front edge of Rubber Floor Mat. I wear size 11 shoe. The middle of the floor has 24" of room from seat base to under dash. IF you need 100hp tractor might look at the 5700 Series it has flat floor and more distance between seat base and front edge of the pedal.
      Guess smaller feet not an easy option to change... LOL

    • @stevek4449

    • @VahrenbergImplement
      @VahrenbergImplement  Před 4 lety

      We also run into short people with small feet and tall people with large feet. Pedals to far away, pedals too close. They design the cab to meet 80% of the population of the world so they can operate and operate controls comfortably. It's difficult to make one cab that fits all shapes, sizes and foot sizes to fit every person in the world. I always recommend taking a test sit or better test drive to find the tractor that best fits your needs. Nice part of the 4700 Series is you have 3 ways to declutch the tractor and really only need the brakes. Raise Powershuttle Lever, Declutch Button on Gear Shift then the traditional clutch pedal all can do the same function. Swivel seat base that is standard equipment may help in your situation.

    • @VahrenbergImplement
      @VahrenbergImplement  Před rokem +1

      You can adjust the Wheel Center and Rims to meet several different tread combinations. You must maintenance inside tire clearance from the fender recommended minimum of 1.6" but there are 16 combinations of center to center tread settings from 49.6" to 76.1" with 4700 Series in the Operators Manual. Add the 16.9" Width to that settings for outside to outside measurement and you can get the overall width range you want. Visit your dealer or look in the operators manual it has all the combinations and information in operators manual and your dealer can help you get them set where you need them. 80" width is not much different than factory settings we are seeing with 18.4R30 Tires we order all our tractors with. They normally close to 84" overall width so your only needing a couple inches to come in on each side.

      All 4700 Series have the same Cab. I would not shy from the DEF System. It actually gets beter fuel economy with DEF than non-DEF Tractors as you clean the exhaust post combustion. I bought a new truck because of DEF and it made a huge difference in fuel economy. DEF is much better than Diesel Particulate Filters. Less maintenance. I use AGCO DEF 99% of the time and seen in tractors where it solved DEF problems. Not the cheapest but sometimes cheap means it's old DEF and will not use Bulk DEF. DEF has a shelf life. Do u think that they will ever put the sloped hood on the 4700s like the 5700s

    • @VahrenbergImplement
      @VahrenbergImplement  Před 4 lety +1

      The Global Series 4700, 5700 & 6700 Series all use the same similar hood. The Premium Full Featured 5700S offers the High Vix Hood Design and is a totally different tractor and requires a lot changes under the hood to make it work. You would need the S Series 5700 to get High Viz Hood.

    • @VahrenbergImplement
      @VahrenbergImplement  Před 4 lety +1

      Understand but the costs to change the engine & components plus cab would be required to change to make it all work...would push the price too close to the 5700S. Why not take a look for a Preowned Massey Ferguson with Hi-Viz Hood. You can find them close to the price of the 4700 or even less. I have a MF 4225 (65 HP) with Hi-Viz Hood for $26,900 includes 4wd & loader. Or look at the last 5400 & 5600 Series have Hi-Viz Hood Option plus you can get the Dyna4 Transmission, More advanced Hydraulic System and Much more comfortable cable and premium feature & components.

    How does this compare to a New Holland T4.75

    • @VahrenbergImplement
      @VahrenbergImplement  Před 3 lety +1

      We've traded for several New Holland T4 and CaseIH Farmall Series. Biggest things they liked over the T4.75 was the Shifting 6 Speed Gearbox with 2 ranges versus 4 Speed Gearbox and 3 Ranges, Tractor Weight is the top comment we get. Massey handles loads better like lifting and feeding hay. Plus Massey Ferguson has more included standard equipment. Reliability was also mentioned several times.

      AGCO is the parent company of Massey Ferguson and own their own Engine Company. It's AGCO Power 3.3L Engine. They do some really cool stuff in their engines, rotating group is balanced to the nearest gram before install, fractured rods, mid-liner support, the torque and fuel economy is what is really crazy in these engines and most important is the reliability we have seen. AGCO Power has to near at the top for Ag Engines. Simply amazing.

      Shibaura Engine is only in the 1700E & 1700M Compacts and 2700E Small Utility Tractors. We have had fantastic success with the Shibaura Engines in these models. But the 4700 Series and all the way up to the 8700S Series are AGCO Power Engines and been super good too. Actually all the Engines Massey Ferguson have been very reliable and since 2007 when we took on Massey Ferguson brand have not had to do any internal work on any of the engines.
