    Hey guys! It’s Hina Sheth from Rebalance Physical Therapy. I wanted to talk to you today about reasons why men are having rectal pain, testicular pain, scrotal pain and any other pain in that area.
    Most physicians don’t realize there’s a group of muscles called the Pelvic Floor that might be the culprit on why you are experiencing all the pain in this region.
    What is the Pelvic Floor?
    Your pelvic bones connect in the front to form the pubic bone and In the back to form your sacrum. Underneath, there’s a group of muscles called the Pelvic Floor that connect from the pubic bone all the way to the sit bones, tailbone and sacrum. This spans the saddle area that you sit on. Any pressure will create tension in these muscles.
    The Pelvic Floor muscles line the openings of the pelvis. Pain in this area likely means the Pelvic Floor muscles are really taut or strained. There could also be taut bands called trigger points that could create pain in this area and even refer pain into the sexual organs.
    What are Symptoms of Pelvic Floor Dysfunction?
    Tension in the Pelvic Floor can even affect your release of urine. You might notice you’re having urinary retention, a hard time releasing urine, or even constipation. You also might experience pain - often we hear that it feels like there’s a golf ball, or something foreign in the rectum.
    Other symptoms you might have include:
    • Abdominal pain
    • Bladder pain
    • Prostatitis-like symptoms (inflammation of the prostate)
    All of those symptoms could be the result of tight muscles in the pelvic floor.
    What do you do?
    Ideally, you need to see a specialized physical therapist that treats men and pelvic floor dysfunction and understands how the pelvic floor is integrated into pelvis, hip and low/mid-back. Those areas often all need to be treated together in order to treat this dysfunction.
    If you’re in the Philadelphia-area, visit our website www.rebalancept.com for more information or to schedule a complimentary phone consultation. If you’re not in the area but are seeking a recommendation, contact us and we can help you find a professional in your area.

    Two things for self-treatment:
    First, Internal manipulation of your pelvic floor. It's a kind of physiotherapy. If u wanna do it by yourself, you have to learn enough from CZcams videos or other sources just to make sure no mistake is made.
    Second, body stretches. But only the moves that don't need to either tighten your muscles or twist your body.
    I traveled around the planet and tried so many skills in the past year to fight the issue, and now I almost make it and the pain is finally gone. I will make a CZcams video once I'm fully recovered.

  • @cybercybin
    @cybercybin Před 3 lety +11

    It's been years since I listened to this video the first time and I've come a long way in my understanding that's what's going on down there. I struggled for about a year with every symptom of non-bacterial "prostatitis". There were times I needed to pee 20 times a night. There were times when I have gastrointestinal problems there were times when I had every other pain and dysfunction around the waistline. I know the video said that there's no actual inflammation of the prostate but for me there was. It was enlarged and boggy.. I still have some sexual dysfunction that is a result of spastic muscle tissues but I'm starting to realize more and more where it's all rooted. It's rooted in the mind. When this all started it happened the next day and weeks following a really bad fight I had with my dad. It was a very emotional time for me. That's what spawned the first & Main episode I ever dealt with. Subsequently there have been times when I've had a sense of guilt whether it was warranted or not and it would create tension in my pelvic region. For a long time I didn't even realize how much trouble credit card debt has caused. I would have panic attacks and anxiety day in and day out accompanied by headaches and pelvic tension. Also when my sexuality becomes distorted off and on and I go into compulsive masturbatory episodes there are often problems that follow. There may be herbs and stretches that help but I would for sure look at your emotional life and see if there are any correlations with what you're feeling. Everyone's designed a little different but just like a dog puts its tail between its legs when it's feeling fear or guilt or whatever; people tend to generate and store tension in that area as well. Don't ignore your thought life

    • @cybercybin
      @cybercybin Před 3 lety

      Just to be clear I do totally appreciate this video and I think it's shedding so much light in an area of medicine shrouded in ignorance. I don't find any fault in this video. I think trigger point work can be very helpful. It is all happening in the pelvic floor. I'm simply trying to add what I have discovered from my personal experience that goes beyond what was covered in case it resonates with anybody else out there.

So I think it's important that men see a male pelvic model to be able to point at the areas that are tense, loose, in pain, give the most problems. etc... But thank you for trying.

      You are not alone I went to the ER I had stomach pain and I felt like I couldn't use the restroom. I loved going to the gym i literally lived to enjoy life. In 2 months the ER told me I had prostatitis and gave me a month of Cipro. Nothing worked then I had urine retention they told me well it could be CES but my lumbar spine had a small herniated disk that had no contact with the s1 nerve roots. I'm now 27k in medical bills and all I have is flomax and catheters. I'm only 30 and I went from muscle to skinny. 155 to 147. Feel weak and now they said well you have neurogenic bladder the urologist and I said from what? What is the cause? Well it could be you injured your spine at the gym but I don't have back pain I feel like my legs hurt now. I tried working out but I felt dizzy and was tired after only 30 minutes. I'm thinking of literally trying a Neurosurgeon as my last chance. Top Doctor's in a Hospital use the prostatitis dx and then after a systoscopy the urologist said your prostate looks great. This pelvic model likely explains why GU symptoms are typically aggravated/activated in the sitting position. The presenter also explains the connection to the GI system. Would also include the effect of emotional stress on pelvic floor structure tightness. Did the doctor associate pelvic floor dysfunction with urinary frequency ? My urological diagnosis was Interstitial Cystitis and the daily pelvic floor stretches have kept my GU symptoms management under highly effective control.

    Very difficult to cure. Have been to top therapists and despite treatment , including trigger point therapy, pain is unbearable. A very disabling , misunderstood, 24/7 chronic pelvic, rectal, and referred pain syndrome. The burning sensation, urge to urinate 50-60 times a day, inability to urinate and void completely, constipation, laxative dependency, etc is a nightmare. It's been over 10 years and has gotten to the point that it is disabling. I was told by a top urologist in most cases it gets better, but I am a "case study" per one of my specialists and no improvement at all.

    Your the first person I've found to explain this!
    Over the last 20 years I've had occasional severe cramping pain when hesitating when going for a wee and I have to stop due to the pain or cramp in the bulbospongiosus area. . It's always happens when I'm stressed or anxiety ridden. Wheh relaxed i can continue. Sometimes the pain comes on for no known reason (yesterday) like a sharp stab shooting pain inbetween the anus and ball sacks.
    bulbospongiosus muscle?
    Then I get paranoid and start to think it's cancer but don't have lumps or swelling etc. It's a vicious circle. I've only just learnt that I'm not alone here. Are their excerices etc?
    Thanks.

    Starting last April I had terrible penile pain (apparently referred pain from somewhere else) and over-frequent urination and painful sitting and after more than six to seven months of getting nowhere with my urologist who has me on finasteride, alfuzosin and mybetriq, I finally discovered that there are pelvic pain specialists. Gee, why didn't my urologist tell me about that? Now with Lyrica (150mg/day), a suppository (diazepam-baclofen) to loosen up the pelvic muscles, a bladder antihistamine pill and weekly physical therapy coupled with home stretching exercises I have seen real improvement. I am not fully better yet, but it's only been a few weeks. Compared to the torture I went through with my urologist this is amazing. What is wrong with the medical profession (shouldn't my urologist know about pelvic floor specialists and know when he has a patient who needs to see one) and why didn't anyone offer me lyrica six months ago when I was home in pain and literally crying quite often... which I clearly explained to my doctor on multiple occasions? I hope I'm on the right course now. What was said in this video did not mention my specific issues but it's all related. This video made a lot of sense to me.

    Fuck yes, I have this terribly, it's literally ruining my life at this point, i'm pretty desperate for help. I'm planning on going to see a therapist but i'm going to make sure I find the right one - I hope i'm not like this forever because I can barely lift, run, walk properly, use the toilet normally etc. - It's been like this for over a year and quite honestly, i'm miserably depressed because of it. • @Jaikay1
      @Jaikay1 Před 6 lety +4

      Dude dude dude dude dude!! I tried something recently that's made me realise it wasn#t just pelvic tension I was having (although that's the center of it) - it's actually just muscle tension throughout the entire body, including the smooth muscles like your bladder ...MAGNESIUM!! Please, just try it. Make you sure you don't get oxide but get chelated, citrate or glycinate, it seems to be working wonders for me :D I know it seems too simple, but if you're in a magnesium deficiency, which a looot of us are, it might just clear up the main tension and help you relax your pelvic floor for a long enough time to re-engage your core and give the inner muscles a rest until they go back to normal :D - Seriously, you have nothing to lose in trying this, it's pretty cheap and even if you 'overdose' on Magnesium, all that happens is you get a little diahrrea, and let's be real here - with pelvic floor problems, anything that will help you poop with ease is a god send lol.
      Ever noticed how the tension isn't even something you do yourself, it's just sort of there? Well that MIGHT be because magnesium helps muscles relax and if you're deficient in it, you'll end up with chronic tension that sticks with you for long periods, creating lactic acid build up, cramps and eventually painful spasms and lots of spasticity. Once you take Mg, the muscles relax naturally without you doing anything, then you can begin to stretch and actually get somewhere :D You can notice effects even after the first dose, but it can take up to 3 months to get a full recovery, but during that time you'll without doubt notice improvements in plateaus. I don't want to get your hopes up because I know how much this condition sucks, but pleaaaase give it a go :)
      It seems to be working wonders for me, i've lost tension I didn't realise I had and my pelvic floor is thanking me for it big time. There might be hope yet my friend!

      erik Cadman The CURE to your enlarge prostate is an aromatase inhibitor that blocks your Testosterone from converting into Estrogen. Estrogen is keeping your prostate enlarge, by blocking the convertion u will allow your prostate to shrink to its Normal size a decline in your Testosterone and a incline in your estrogen is the ROOT cause of your swollen prostate causing tightness in the pelvic floor it’s not some shit in your head your prostate is enlarge causing the urethra pelvic muscles to tighten up and not fully relax enlarge prostate is no joke anxiety depression is all linked to this condition making it a never ending cycle of pure hell stretching can only help so far and give out false hope but not cure THE ROOT PROBLEM the enlarge prostate is a hormonal problem u can’t see is why all this stretching won’t cure shit. In woman accesive estrogen causes breast cancer in the treatment to cure doctors prescribe them an aromatase inhibitor like clomid to block the estrogen from feeding to there cancer. As men age Testosterone declines and many older men get diagnosed with prostate cancer why? Because elderly old people have big decline of Testosterone leaving estrogen to tackle there organs aka prostate. To much estrogen is cancerous, is what feeds the cancer. The only way to tackle this shit head on is to block the conversion from happening your testosterone is converting into estrogen feeding the problem Aka prostatitis because this is what they call it when they don’t know what dfuck is wrong with u to much conversation can have u in a never ending cycle the only way to stop the converting is to take an AROMATASE INHIBITOR called CLOMID this will block your Testosterone from turning into estrogen allowing u shrink your prostate back to its walnut size and allow u to be the fucking Man U want to be. Estrogen is why u feeling less of a man my guys kill that shit attack that shit hear me on this I’ve done all the homework for u guys no doctor will ever tell u what I’m telling U EVER you are just there pay day. Also Incase your questioning if aromatase inhibitor are safe broccoli 🥦 contains it the pill is just more concentrated and more potent. We are living in very feminist times men are dying aka becoming more feminine doctors won’t prescribe you clomid or aromatase inhibitors because the government wants the sheep the men to become weak and become more feminine we are living in interesting times guys wish the best of luck to you guys hope this light shines thru Peace ✌🏻

      Hi Christopher, The one thing I have learned after speaking to countless number of clients now all over the USA is that not all pelvic floor therapist do a comprehensive job on treating pelvic pain. For instance did they work on alignment, did they do internal work, external work, educate on self release, Our program shows you how to comprehensively treat all the muscles that could be contributing to pain. So if you have not been shown that then this program can help.

    Hm. Very interesting...I honestly didnt expect this and started about 6 months ago. I went to the doctor and told them that I felt a discomfort on my left testicle and they did the normal procedure on trying to find out if it was a hernia, infection on the testicle, or any type of swelling. They gave me medicine like you said and now I barely feel the discomfort of my left testicle.
    I mainly felt like this when I was sitting down, which is mostly at work and sometimes at home. But mostly the discomfort/slight pain mostly stops when I'm standing up and walking around. Plus the discomfort is now behind my testicles and thought that maybe I had some sort of infection towards either the prostate or rectum/anus (which maybe explains the slight constipation but still able to use the bathroom). Is it possible that it might be because of this? So far, everything sounds very similar to what's shes been saying with the visit to an urgent care doctor the symptoms coming up after.

      Dhananjaya b The CURE to your enlarge prostate is an aromatase inhibitor that blocks your Testosterone from converting into Estrogen.

    I am 37, ever since I had my appendix taken out at age 22 I have had issues with my prostate. I’ve seen several urologists and so many doctors. It’s always the same conclusion, no infection just a small amount of inflammation in my blood. It literally feels like I’m getting stabbed in my asshole. The last doc I saw diagnosed me with reactivate Arthritis. But the past year the right side of my body has been in tremendous pain, like death pain, also tunnel vision and sensitivity to light. I’m starting to wonder if my nerves are jacked up and maybe it’s affecting my prostate? Is that even possible.

      @@KoolAidDinkyTV Everything is normal now. I make sure I don't sit on the toilet too long. I heard that can cause issues and I would spend an hour sitting on the toilet sometimes. I also prioritize sleep and hydration (including electrolytes). I had a shit sleep schedule and was chronically dehydrated. I basically realized that if I wanted to clear up any dysfunctions then I should give my body the means to do so. How? Act like a human that evolved outdoors, with lots of quiet time, moving around, eating plants and animals, drinking spring water, sleeping at the right hours, having a healthy social life, and so on. What does this mean today? Get plenty of quiet time, sleep at the right hours, exercise and move, rest when needed, spend time in nature getting sunlight and fresh air, touch the earth, eat real food, do some things you enjoy.
