    Fantastic video. DNA analysis shows the people with the closest genetic links to those Natufians are the people of Yemen and Saudi Arabia, with North Africans and the Levant extremely close as well. Those people are the best representative of the ancient Natufian populations.

      @@aa-gr2jhThe genetic analysis of the Natufian samples, and the spread of e1b1b show that even in the horn, it is mostly the result of ancient back migration of West Eurasians into North Africa. The genetic distance PCA analysis shows Yemenites and Saudi Arabians are the best representative of the Natufian population -- and that the ancient Egyptian population shares that ancestral component. Unlike those populations in the Horn, the "Khemites" lack the East African forager, Dinka and later Bantu components. Nice try at a straw man to run away from the data. -Natufians were one of the first agriculturalist cultural groups in the Middle-East and the world! They lived in the Levant region during the Early Neolithic Age and were a mix of Basal-Eurasians and the Aurignacians (one of the first groups who entered Europe 45.000 years ago), they had around 5%-10% sub-saharan ancestry therefore they mostly carry E1b1b Y-DNA.
    -Modern populations who score high Natufian ancestry are the Mehri people in Southern Yemen (60%) and the Bedouin Arabs (Nomadic Arabs 55%).

    The Natufians _split_ from the Iberomaurusians - not the other way around. Iberomaurusian culture existed as early as 25,000 YBP, according to radio-carbon dating of organic matter that was found at the archeological site of Tamar Hat - Algeria; Tamar Hat was inhabited by Iberomaurusians.
    However, the Natufian culture existed as early as only 15,000 YBP, so it was 10,000 years younger.
    This implies that the Iberomaurusians preceded the Natufians.
    However, the paternal haplogroup of the Iberomaurusians of Taforalt was E-M78, which poses a problem.
    E-M78 did not exist when the Iberomaurusian culture began 25,000 YBP; according to YFull, E-M78 formed 19,100 YBP.
    The same applies to the Natufians' paternal haplogroup, E-Z830; it did not exist 25,000 YBP, because it formed 23,500 YBP (according to YFull).
    The most downstream paternal haplogroup that preceded both E-M78 and E-Z830 - and that existed 25,000 YBP - is E-M35. According to YFull, E-M35 formed 34,700 YBP. Therefore, E-M35 was the paternal haplogroup of the first Iberomaurusians.
    Both the later Iberomaurusians' E-M78 and the Natufians' E-Z830 are downstream from E-M35:
    E-M35 -> E-L539 -> E-M78 (E1b1b1a1)
    E-M35 -> E-Z827 -> E-Z830
    E-M35 originated in East Africa / Ethiopia, according to a peer-reviewed scientific article.
    *Source:* "Origin, Diffusion, and Differentiation of Y-Chromosome Haplogroups E and J: Inferences on the Neolithization of Europe and Later Migratory Events in the Mediterranean Area" (2004):
    *Quote:* _Both phylogeography and microsatellite variance suggest that E-P2 and its derivative, E-M35, probably originated in eastern Africa. This inference is further supported by the presence of additional Hg E lineal diversification and by the highest frequency of E-P2* and E-M35* in the same region. The distribution of E-P2* appears limited to eastern African peoples. The E-M35* lineage shows its highest frequency (19.2%) in the Ethiopian Oromo but with a wider distribution range than E-P2*._
    East Africans / Ethiopians who existed when E-M35 formed - 34,700 YBP - did not have any Eurasian admixture; the Eurasian back-migration into East Africa occurred only 3000 YBP.
    Therefore, the first East Africans / Ethiopians who possessed E-M35 would have had zero Eurasian admixture; they would have been indigenous, sub-Saharan Africans. This explains why the Iberomaurusians are modelled as inheriting 54% of their ancestry from the same source as modern sub-Saharan Africans in the peer-reviewed scientific article, "Ancient West African Foragers in the Context of African Population History." See Figure 5 in the main part of that article, and Figure S3.17 in its supplementary materials.
    Therefore, sub-Saharan Africans migrated to North Africa sometime before 25,000 YBP and interbred with Eurasian women who carried U6 and M1 haplogroups, thus creating the Iberomaurusians. This is why the Iberomaurusians were part sub-Saharan African and part Eurasian.
    The paternal haplogroup of the Natufians formed 23,500 YBP, which indicates that their specific ancestors within the Iberomaurusian population may have branched off from other Iberomaurusians that early. However, if they did so, they probably still practiced Iberomaurusian culture, since Natufian culture formed much later.
    By the way, the Natufians did have sub-Saharan African ancestry; part of it is hidden in their Northern African ancestry.
    *Source:* "Re-analysis of Whole Genome Sequence Data From 279 Ancient Eurasians Reveals Substantial Ancestral Heterogeneity” (2018):
    _“The Natufian sample consisted of 61.2% Arabian, _*_21.2% NORTHERN AFRICAN,_*_ 10.9% Western Asian, and _*_6.8% OMOTIC [sub-Saharan African]_*_ ancestry. The transition in the Levant from the Epipaleolithic to the Neolithic period involved an increase of Arabian ancestry at the expense of Northern African and Omotic ancestries.”_
    *Source:* “Genomic Ancestry of North Africans Supports Back-to-Africa Migrations” (2012)
    “At k = 6 through 8, all North African populations except for Tunisians have sub-Saharan ancestry, present in most individuals, though this ancestry varies between 1%-55%.”
    Therefore, the sub-Saharan African ancestry within the Northern African component could be as much as 11.66% of the Natufians’ overall genome.
    21.2% of 55% = 11.66%
    Adding this percentage to the 6.8% that the Omotic component comprises yields the following:
    6.8% + 11.66% = 18.46%
    So, the Natufians were as much as 18.46% sub-Saharan African.
    Given that the Natufians had much less sub-Saharan African ancestry than the Iberomaurusians - but kept their sub-Saharan African paternal haplogroup - they must have been the descendants of Iberomaurusian males who intermixed with Eurasian females, generation after generation. This makes sense, because after the Natufians' Iberomaurusian ancestors moved into the Levant, they would have had to intermix with the locals in order to maintain enough genetic diversity to survive; so, they began exchanging women with the tribes around them, which must have been Eurasian. Note that humans are naturally patriarchal, which is why the Natufians would have maintained their paternal haplogroup despite diluting its source, which was their sub-Saharan African ancestry.
    The above quote states that their Northern African and Omotic ancestries - the former of which contains hidden sub-Saharan African ancestry - was diluted with Arabian ancestry. Here it is again:
    _"The transition in the Levant from the Epipaleolithic to the Neolithic period involved an increase of Arabian ancestry at the expense of Northern African and Omotic ancestries.”_

No, natufians didnt have any subsaharan dna, that study you used with omotic as reference group isnt viable, it also said european hunter gatherers for example had percentages of oceanian, makes no sense. We cant use modern groups as reference for ancient groups. Natufians had no affinity to subsaharans in laziridiz et al 2016. Subsaharans do have eurasian dna, all have, proven by neanderthal dna in them and eurasian back migrations. It is likely that E originated among a basal eurasian like indigenous north african population, ancestral to both eurasians and subsaharans.

    People can say what they want about how Natufians were this and that but I guarantee you can't prove that the first man looked like that. We have tribes all over the world today that have wooly haired people having straight hair people never the other way around.

      The first human is irrelevant to Natufians hundreds of thousands of years later and the consensus is they most likely resembled Australoid people with "Negroid" traits such as dry, tightly curled hair developing later.

    Southern Arabia is home to a land of people with austronesian and African dna and we’re the originators of the Arab language and not the Indo European populations that later filled up the Arabian land , and not to mention the modern European look wasn’t even around 10k years ago
